How to earn points:faq279:How to earn points8 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Yeah. My articles are based off of FAQs But I've had a lot of people ask me this so I'm gonna try my best to answer it. I won't guarantee that you'll be a multi-millionaire and able to swim in a pool of points but I can help you earn some.
For starters, I have to tell you what points are! You can't earn them if you don't know what they are.
To me, points are the currency of dA but they are worthless unless they were earned using the commissions widget, which I will talk about later in this article. But having a lot of it can be good and bad in a way.
Let me start you off with the bad
People will ask you for it! (Not that giving is a bad thing but once you get a page full of comments asking "points plz" you'll wish you've never had any of those wretched things. )

Some tips to get more watchers on dA x3First of all, the amount of watchers is only a number. It doesn't necessary say how good your skills are. It's more how many people are interested in your art and how much it's seen in the community, in my opinion. Never forget it!^^Some tips to get more watchers on dA x34 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Yes, it indeed is hard to get noticed on dA. There are so many amazing artists and if you're new here, it's a big challenge! However, there are some tips to get seen by more people!
Most of the tips are based on own experiences and what I observed. People have different experiences, so there is no real instruction! xD
Here are my personal tips:
Be active! It means, comment, fave and watch other people's art. Many of them will visit your profile to thank you and hey, maybe they like your art!
Commenting on many deviations also means that people will see your name and are likely to remember it!
Get an interesting avatar! Cause if your avatar looks interesting, people are more likely to click on it! Choose an avatar which rep

Tips For Commission ArtistsHello! I thought of making this small guide, based from my personal experience, to give tips to artists, mostly beginners, to be more successful at selling commissions, since seeing from my previous journal many had difficulty with it. So here are some tips to help boosting your sales.Tips For Commission Artists1 month ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Have your commission info somewhere visible
Possibly, people won't even know you are taking commissions or if they are open if you don't put your commission info somewhere they can see. You can do this in a journal, that I mostly recommend, since it will be showing into your watcher's inboxes and most of your watchers probably rarely visit your profile page. You could still also use the commission widget, or donation poll to write your info. You can also link to your commission info in your signature or the artist's comment of new drawings you upload.
Keep it simple
Don't add too many unnecessary rules or in
Conquer your artblockI think every artist out here has experienced it at least one time in their career: the so called artblock. A moment of total lack of inspiration that suddenly hits you, and leaves you unable to create. Most often the solution is to just wait. Most artblocks will solve automatically with time. But there are circumstances in which an artblock doesn't automatically disappear, or when you have deadlines to catch. In that case, you might be helped by some basic tips to conquer your artblock.Conquer your artblock2 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Over the years, I've experienced an artblock (or writersblock, as they call it for fiction writers) many, many times. Most of them were short, but the longest lasted over 2 years. Most of them solved on their own. But sometimes I just needed that little bit of extra help. Therefore, I made a list with a few tips and tricks to make your artblock go away. Hopefully it'll help you as well as it did me.
Beat your fear
Most artblocks come from fear. The fear of not being able to

How to ask for free requests (awareness and rant)[Edit (8.10.14): Holyyyy moly I didn't expect this journal to get so many views, favorite, & comments! *^* It's an old journal to me now and I was just expressing my feelings and venting them out, so I won't be replying to the comments on this anymore. I will read them though! Thanks for voicing your opinion on this matter : )]How to ask for free requests (awareness and rant)3 weeks ago in Deviant Events More Like This
I think there's a great need to educate people asking for free art about when it's okay and when it's not. Biggest problems about people asking for requests are (1) they don't read, & (2) they don't care.
I know this whole journal is practically all common sense, but for some reason people don't know these things or don't care enough?
This journal shouldn't have to exist but now it has to.
This journal literally has 3 STEPS. It's so easy, even a child could do it.
Step 1 - You see an artist's art that you really like, so much that you want that artist to draw something for you. Step 1, go to their page to note them. E

Group Switch Around Meme CollaborationWant to develop your skills through a collaboration with other members? Take part in Rising-Artists' Switch Around Meme Collaboration project.Group Switch Around Meme Collaboration3 weeks ago in Deviant Events More Like This
A Switch Around Meme is a collaborative project that usually involves three artists. Each artist does one of three three parts for each artwork (sketching, line art, and coloring) so that there are three completed artworks at the end:
For this group collaboration, we're going to have many members participate instead of only three. Each member will take part in the sketching, line art, and coloring steps of three different artworks, and at the end, all artworks will be displayed in one large piece.
How to Join
Comment below with what you plan to draw along with your preferences on what you'd like to draw (ex: Females, wolves, chibis, Naruto). You will be partnered with other deviants based on what you indicate as your interests, so pleas
