I have always loved anthologies. Growing up in Britain 95 percent of the comics were weekly anthologies so it has been firmly ingrained in my psyche.
I've always felt that anthologies are a good platform for experimentation, trying new ideas and styles, introducing new talent and especially good to read in the bathroom. I'll never forget the impression Heavy Metal had on me when I first saw it.
They're perfect for those moments when you've read through the 100 comics you've bought that month and realized there wasn't a single complete story in the pile.
I've recently relaunched two previously successful anthologies, A1 and MONSTER MASSACRE.
I have also been enjoy

I guess it has a kinda "pencil-ish" kinda feel to it...
I will never forget or do away with my stylus but i agree pencils are such magic ...
To me too it is very very dear
Just some little crayon trivia : i painted this listening to the Corrs, so today i started to listen to the Corrs again and paint to them all day, they are the best...
technically i have grown a lot but emotion-wise, apparently, my watchers love this one the most...
These were happy careless times of which I think very fondly, it is the piece that made me who I am today, when i drew it way back in 2009, the cradle of my creativity and the beginning of a great painting adventure...
thank you all for all the love...
thank you for your gift of love and the white light you all send to me...
Am I ready to start freelancing?Hi,Am I ready to start freelancing?3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
I think that anyone with at least "good" artistic skill, and a willingness to work hard, can find enough art job opportunities to stay busy and bring in some money. (However, there is a lot of competition, here on DA, AND out in the real world, so you have to be ready to put some effort into it.) This particular discussion deals with commissions (finding clients who need art and providing that art... as opposed to creating a body of work and then trying to sell it.)
I earn my living as a freelance artist. Finding freelance work involves hours of work producing art, but also hours of work finding new jobs and corresponding with clients each week. It requires a certain amount of (artistic skill,) confidence, patience, organization, motivation, and perseverance. Some clients have a very clear vision for their project and can describe it well. Others are a bit disorganized or unmotivated requiring extra effort on my part (and some clients should just be avoided completely). Even if you

Ask the ArtistI thought that maybe it might be nice to just give you guys the chance to ask me some stuff. Be it about me as a person or as an artist, things like programs I use, honestly, whatever you can think of in terms of questions. Depending on the questions I get, I might turn this into a FAQ linked in my 'about me' section.Ask the Artist1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I don't want you guys to think I'm unapproachable, because while I may be a bit held back and I sometimes have difficulty with longer conversations, I am very willing to talk to anyone, who wants to, via notes or comments or whatever. I've been trying to get more active here, commenting more on art and trying to open up a bit.
I don't mind answering questions and I, by the way, am very happy about any kind of constructive criticism (constructive criticism, to me, is polite, but helpful - think of it this way, how would you react to receiving the same comment? Would you give your friend, your sibling, etc. the same kind of advice?)
Anyway, questions shall be listed
6 years of (sometimes guilty) pleasureHello peeps,6 years of (sometimes guilty) pleasure9 months ago in Personal More Like This
I am now 6 years on dA and I still love it as much as the first day.
Now this is an historical falacy to start with because I actually joined dA 6 months earlier but I had the misfortune (why do these things always happen to me????) of assuming, unbeknowest to me, the name of a well-known pornstar.
I was getting all sorts of funny remarks till i googled the name and yep, pornstar, oh well...
But a few months later I got my courage back and came back as crayonmaniac, also an impulsive name choice but it sticks and has now become an artistic skin to me...
People got me gifts, bought my prints, gave me subs and I gave subs back and all of this is still so vivid in my mind.
I also met people for real, Flo, Brian, Vincent, Erik D, Yannick and loved every second of it
I want to thank you all for the love I and my art got/get here, I made so many paintings for so many of you with so much love, I grew here from a wannabe little scribbler to the professional i am today, i met peopl
Pose requests?Sounds weird, I know.Pose requests?6 months ago in Personal More Like This
But this is just a short thing I'm typing as a distraction.
Is there anyone who wants me to make any pose for MMD? Like the ones of pictures and stuff.
There are no limits or rules, I just want to improve posing that's all.
Please, I'd really be relieved....

'Life Drawing 5' by algaegoblin
Do you know how to sketch human figures but do you want to refine your anatomy skills? Or do you not know anatomy at all and you are tired to trust your imagination? Did you notice you create disproportions in your drawings?
If you are aspiring artists and you already have your own style, you might as well believe you have no need of a guide, but you are wrong. Before exaggerating human proportions and begin to have your own style, you first have to know the basics.
This little guide is the result of an accurate research and 5 years of high school of art, and it's created for all those who want to learn something new or just make a useful review.
For those who have already studied art, my suggestion is to go to step 6 or trying to repeat all steps in Digital format.
First of all, if you want to learn faster you should draw using traditi

Don't use jello to dye hairI was curious.Don't use jello to dye hair2 years ago in Personal More Like This
So I got red jello.
And made hair dye.
and painted it all over my hair.
then I realized that it wasn't sugar free.
and the jello hardened.
and I washed most of it afterwards.
but it hurt so bad when I tried to brush it.
If you use hairspray or large amounts of it, obviously it hardens the hair in place.
and you can not brush it, or it will hurt af.
That's basically what I went through XD
and the color stained my forehead and hands.
and while I was doing it, it spilled all over my sink.
and it won't come off.

I am wary of my following message not being received with the full gravity it deserves. It is not my intention to unduly alarm the deviantART community, but... LaurenKitsune is at this time unaccounted for. All attempts on our part to contact her have failed. It is my hope that she has simply taken a much deserved unscheduled pre-Halloween “vacation” and will be back in online communication soon.
Before going dark, LaurenKitsune was good enough to write and transmit a report on the Slender Man phenomenon sweeping the Internet. That report is published here fo
