Well hey all! I'm back from Europe!!! I had the pleasure of cosplaying with some epic people, but that's a long story of adventures. I brought Steve to Berlin to cosplay with *FahrSindram and here he is I'm still unhappy with the stars, but this is actually my last time I will wear Steve. It's been a pleasure cosplaying him, but it's time to move on to conquer other challenges. However, Captain America will continue to remain my hero. As always.
I had an AMAZING time in Sweden with *CaptainImaginary and ~Cecelin0. Stockholm is somewhere I just never thought I'd go, so the experience was definitely sweet. Charlie and I also were able to do a couple photoshoots including this one!! By the time I had got to London, the Official Doctor Who tumblr had actually featured our cosplays for Wholloween! Pretty surreal. Never thought I'd see the day, even if it was just a derp photo (--> luxlaterna.tumblr.com/post/648… )
So no, this isn't me. But it is my costume! For those of you who have been following the progress of my Winter Soldier cosplay, here is the finished result of many months of hard work.
Although I am still contemplating cosplaying in this costume, it has been altered to fit Ray, the wonderful actor pictured here, for a trailer we filmed for a "Death of Captain America" movie (for those of you who have read that comic series. If you have not, PLEASE DO).
For more information on "Becoming A Hero", including more bts photos, stills, and more, please visit: becomingahero-official.tumblr.…. The actual video will be released May 14, 2014. So please stay tuned!!
Ray Garrioch as Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier, as adapted from the comic 'The Death of Captain America') costume by Lux-Laterna aka, me.
I was planning on cosplaying Sherlock Holmes for a while, and as soon as I finished the vest, I texted my photographer and we set up this shoot! After 5 hours, my room was transformed into 221b Baker's Street (--> picture here --> luxlaterna.tumblr.com/post/527…. Not guna lie... kind of miss it looking more like this....
This month started off pretty terrible ... bike accident on the first to wipe out my right side, then getting sick a week later... but when meeting Stan Lee as your hero is the deadline, powering on is all that matters!
This is my original design Captain America, with my custom made shield - finally put together so I can use it. So I kind of hate sewing pleather... seriously .. pleather fly = not fun. But after the day is said and done, after Stan Lee even said Wow to my costume. EVERYTHING was worth it, and I had an AMAZING Time!! Met so many great people.
I'll be making new stars for this that are 3D and taking this one to Europe when I go in October! Couldn't be more stoked.
THIS DAY WAS SO REDIC. Me and Steve got together and had the most romantic, cheesy, silly day and took pictures of it all <3 We had breakfast in bed, made grilled cheese, and even ate fondue (we fondued fhheheheh) I had so much fun being Tony, we talked like an old married couple, it was beautiful XD HAPPY VALENTINES DAY EVERYONE!!
In October, I'll be going to Sweden and Germany to cosplay with a bunch of great people including *FahrSindram and *CaptainImaginary ! Fahr and her Clint+Nat had done Hogwarts versions before, so I thought I'd do one as well, and bought CI a tie for his Tony.
Yes, I believe Steve Rogers is a Gryffindor. Unfortunately, due to some inaccurate protrayals of Steve in various forms, people will argue this. But, I will continue to stand strong behind this house. There is a reason I cosplay Steve Rogers, in various forms. There is a reason I put blood sweat and tears into my cosplays of him.
If any Avenger was a Puff, it would be Clint. But again, depends on what comic you read I suppose.
Anyway, Fahr made this awesome collage type thing tumblr post of all of us --> [link]
And here are some more photos of the Hogwarts/Avengers Team:
YAY! First photo up from Emerald City Comic Con on the weekend! Best weekend in forever. Wearing Sherlock was super fun because people actually came up to us and stuff. Unlike on Sunday where they just stared from a far, or gave me a badass gangster nod as Daryl... I digress. Besides, I'll post a journal on it all in due time. (yea, I can be a lazy ass sometimes).
So I bought that Sherlock hat ages ago to walk around with because I think it's hilarious. Before closing down for the day, Gab and I snatched some cool photos in an alley by where I parked. Ta da!
Sherlock Holmes photo credits: ~theMightyHeart, who is 1. awesome. 2. was my epic Watson on the weekend
