Riddler x Nightingale: Riddle Me This…?
“Arkham Asylum, huh?” A dark haired woman sighed. She ran her hands down her ponytail for the umpteenth time as she nervously waited for the car in front of her to drive past the security gate. She turned down the radio as she drove closer to the ominous gates.
“Who’d a thought I’d be working here after having a great job at Wayne Tech?” She groaned. “I had the benefits I wanted and there was a low chance of me getting killed or seriously injured by these crazy inmates Bruce always finds.” She drove up next to the gate and smiled at the security guard.
“ID ma’am?” He asked. She handed him her ID and watched as he nearly jumped out of his skin. He quickly handed it back to her and let her through the gates. “Have a nice night, Ms. Wayne.”
“And to you too.” She said and muttered “That never gets old” as she found the staff member pa

Despicable Me was so cute! I've been waiting for the movie to come out for a long time and I wasn't disappointed! I haven't been able to find a Despicable Me fic so I decided to make my own! This isn't exactly a day-by-day massive fic. It's more like a collection of one-shots (some of which are going to be pretty long) that all have to do with the Gru's new family after the movie. I also want to encourage others to write some Despicable Me fanfiction!
I wasn't going to write in Gru's accent at first, but the dialogue seemed to be lacking something so I had to put it in. So, just go with me on the spelling, it's not technically correct, but I hope it will make the story feel more r

"Adam? What's wrong?" Parent number two asked the little blonde boy who Gru had left just moments before. The older boy was nowhere to be seen, having run off in a hurry, looking over his shoulder every few seconds as if afraid something was going to attack him.
"T-the m-m-monstah a-and it's gonna gonna " The boy babbled incoherently through his sobs. The three parents and teacher spent the next five minutes trying to figure out why the boy was upset and then proceeded to calm him down. They hadn't understood the full story, but they gathered Gru had told him some story about a monster and it had freaked him out. Parent number two sent multiple death glares at the man, and perhaps if he was paying attention he might have gotten the message. Instead, he was more intent on explaining something t

No, I have no self control at all. I wasn't even thinking of doing a Christmas chapter, but then this just popped into my head randomly and I knew I would have to do it this year, or it would never get done. This is a little different then my other stories because you get to see the girls in the orphanage. Also, in this chapter I play with the idea that the girls aren't actually related to each other, I think that adds an interesting element to their characters and relationship.
I know I promised you all a grown up Edith story, but that's coming up next! Very very soon if they plot will behave and stop becoming more and more complex. Also, please excuse the grammatical errors, I'll get t
BloodClanBlue eyes gleamed in the moonlit bushes. A strong, muscular cat leaped gracefully out of the bushes, her gray pelt turned silver. A lithe ginger tabby padded silently by her side. I am worried, Featherstar. What will RiverClan say? The large gray tabby looked down at the ginger tabby. You are right to be concerned Squirrelstream. But what can we do about it. We cannot turn back time and change our actions. All we can do is accept the consequences for our actions. Squirrelstream nodded, and once more the duo fell silent. After what seemed like nine lifetimes, the four massive oaks crept into Squirrelstreams line of vision. As if obeying an unspoken command, Squirrelstream and Featherstar quickened the pace from a gentle, easy walk to a trot, then to a run. Your eyes fluttered open as a bright ray of light flooded your tiny closet sized room. You instinctively reached over to your bed-side table and grabbed your goggles. You securely fastened them to your face before you opened your eyes. You crawled out of your tattered bed and made your way down the creaky old stairs of your safe house. You walked to the front door of the house and made sure the door was still securely shut.
You noticed a trail of crimson blood drip from inside the lock. You knew instantly that they'd been here last night. You could basically smell the chemicals that they'd left. You made a mental note to switch safe houses in the next couple days or they'd certainly find a way in.
"Good morning," a voice greeted.
You turned your attention away from the bloody, splintered door and towards the voice. A tall blonde haired male stood before you, his blue eyes studied your suited body.
"They were here last night," you muttered after a few minutes of dead silence.

Other families held reunions on beaches or in hotels around a dining room table.
The Wayne family held their reunions in a cave, wearing all black.
This was one of the many quirky traditions a family picks up when they are the ruling house of a two thousand year old secret society of spies and vigilantes. The League of Shadows was not a cheerful organization and the Waynes were as much a part of the League as the League was a part of them. Sure the other families that made up the League were slightly more normal in their celebrations. The Graysons went to Hawaii last year, the Pennyworths almost never left London, and the Drakes spent most of their reunions in the Hamptons.
The Waynes just liked to be different.
But despite the gruesome setting, it was still a reunion and just above their heads was a ballroom filled with food and cake. When they were done in the cave they'd have a more normal gathering in the ancestral house just up the stairs. This was something they did f

The guards raced in hoping to catch the thief before he got away. Five guards in total were on duty that night and all came running, armed and ready.
“Stop right there!” One called out. He drew his weapon and held it out trying to take aim at the rapidly moving target. He saw a flash of smoothing red fly at it just before he felt the sting of sharp metal take the gun from his grasp. A second later he had a foot in his face, sending him across the room.
The other four guards advanced on the thief. He flipped over two and landed with grace and ease behind them. He managed to punch one in the head as he dropped the other with a well-placed kick to the back of the neck. The other two attempted to swing on him, but found it harder than it looked. Whoever the masked man was, he was fast and skilled. He maneuvered around the two remaining guards so that that they hit each other, knocking one another out. Pleased with his work he

Robin and Cyborg hovered about the scene, noting the several huge craters in the park.
"It looks like one heck of a fight," Cyborg commented.
Robin remained silent as his eyes scanned over the craters. It didn't take him another second to recognize these craters were the aftermath of a starbolt. He knew that Starfire never had a hard time landing a starbolt on her enemies. She was always dead-on-sight, unless they were moving at the speed of light. The many craters told him her enemy was someone fast. The amount of craters also told him that the villain who had attacked her must have also had the ability to fly. That was another flaw Starfire had difficulty with during training.
Silently, the masked hero continued walking and observing the craters.
"Yo, Rob! You oughtta see this!" Cyborg hollered.
Robin appeared beside Cyborg within seconds. His eyes widened at the body imprinted on the ground before them.
"Definitely Starfire's body," Cyborg said quietly.

It was getting to around 2am and she was reading a horror story which she hadn't been able to put down for at least a week. Considering it was based on 'true events' she thought she should at least see if it was actually worth the read. It foretold such things as demonic presences and exorcisms and all of that horrific fantasy nonsense. Of course, Raven believed in the demon side of it considering herself but she never really thought about demonic forces as a supernatural fear. She never really thought about the idea of ghosts or more so, poltergeists.
The book in general told the story of a young girl who was brutally murdered and came back from the afterlife into the realm of the living as an unstoppable demonic ghost who would kill anyone and make them suffer in horrific ways in which she did. It was told that she was not innocent and sweet as she once was in her h

Your family ran the local confectionary.
As much of a dream as that may seem to be to others, it was somewhat torturous for you. Being the daughter of the owners, you had to help out in the store here and there – all the while not being allowed to sample any of the delectable sweets that were sold.
Ah, how you wanted to eat them.
On the middle section of the display sat the cakes, dripping with icing. Red velvet, chocolate mousse, carrot… you name it and your family store probably baked and sold it. Their fat bodies draped elegantly over their china resting plates as you mentally likened them to the classic Renaissance paintings of women, the soft lights of the store complimenting them perfectly. You wondered at how your parents

Startled, he yelped and tripped backwards in midair until his head collided with the ceiling. Giggles erupted from the owner of the blue eyes as he nursed the bump that he felt was going to be on his head.
“Ha ha. Very funny,” he said with his trademark smirk, gathering his bearings to take a better look at the other occupant of the room.
He blinked. Huh. It was a baby.
Judging by the pink color scheme that was generously used around the room, he guessed that it was a baby girl. She looked to be less than a year old – or at lea

A sigh, "How long are you going to stand over there in the shadows?"
Kevin Levin sighed again and laid back on his bed, tucking his hands beneath his head. Of course, the term 'bed' was really a matter of perspective, since really, it was just a futon in the corner of the large glass box he called his room, and others called an Anti-Energy Chamber.
"Fine, don't talk to me," he told the ceiling. He reached a hand out and brushed some of his obnoxiously long hair out of his face. He really would like to have cut it, but it was very doubtful that would happen, since he wasn't allowed within 15 feet of any sort of sharp object. He tucked his hand back under his head and spoke again, "
