Author's Note: This fic came to me after I heard, then saw the video for, the A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera duet "Say Something". It struck something in me and... well, this story is what came of it. If you haven't heard it, it can be found here: Say Something.
Usage of the cover image, entitled "Mission failed" was granted by artist f19850928.
Warning: I never thought I would write one of these, but it turns out I was wrong. Not only is this a sonfic (something I'm not a big fan of) but it is also a Death!Fic.
Disclaimer: Young Justice & Batman, or the song "Say Something", are not mine. Any recognizable content is not mine.

It was the vile taste of rancid leftovers that finally chased the last vestiges of unconsciousness from him mind. Thirteen year old Robin forced his eyes open and regretted it instantly when the all-too-familiar, pulsating pounding threatened to split his skull. 'Damn it, why am I the one who always ends up getting chloroformed," he complained internally, attempting to massage the headache that was centralized behind his temples. Except his hands wouldn't move; that was when he realized how he was laying.
On his side, with his hands unable to be moved from behind him.
It was always disconcerting, being kidnapped when he was Dick Grayson. If he had been Robin he could have fought back, but as the adopted son of billionaire Bruce Wayne he knows only the rudimentary basics of self defense; easily overpowered by someone determined enough. Especially if his abductor was armed with chloroform soaked rags and rendered him unconscious. Which left him helpless to whatever means of containment w

The crowd was thin, maybe a few dozen people, but it was enough for the drone of voice to fill the gymnasium. The bleachers were all but empty of spectators, only a few parents and chaperones willing to brave the cold snap that Gotham City awoke to on the first Saturday of December. The cold that could be felt every time the door opened and a draft came in from the corridor.
Like the one that gusted across the back of thirteen year old Dick Grayson. He shivered momentarily where he stood and startled at the heavy hand that fell onto his shoulder.
"Good luck, Dick!"
With a wide smile on his face, thirteen year old Dick Grayson spun around. "Bruce! You came?"
"Of course," His guardian exclaimed, removing his designer leather gloves with a flourish. "I wouldn't miss one of your little math-things for anything!"
Also gives 'Brucie' some exposure, Dick thought as he bit

After the moment of initial shock was gone, Loki’s calculative mind began running through every possible scenario. Who would have taken Caedra? Who could have taken Caedra? Not just anyone could have access to the gardens. And wouldn’t someone have seen her? Then Loki remembered. Sif. He had left Caedra with Sif. So where was she? He looked around again, though he knew he would find nothing else. There was no trace of the warrior maiden anywhere.
The thought went through his mind that this was somehow Sif’s doing. He hoped it wasn’t true – not because he cared for her, but because it would mean that she had played him. For the sake of his pride it couldn’t be true. But even then it didn’t make sense for Sif to have done this. She would never do anything to harm Caedra. Besides, if she had wanted to take Caedra away from him, all she would have needed to do was go to Thor. No, Loki confirmed in his mind, this was not

It had been hours since Loki had been dragged out of the throne room. Just how many hours it had been, he didn’t know, and at this point, didn’t care. He had been screaming and fighting the whole way back to his chambers, and even then he had banged on the door for hours after, all the while continuing to shout and scream. He didn’t care that ultimately it did him no good. He just wanted out. He needed out.
He only fell silent when from complete exhaustion he collapsed on the floor between the door and bed. When he awoke a few hours later, he was still alone, though he could tell that someone had entered while he had been asleep. A tray of food had been placed on the table, as well as a bucket of ice and a think, sturdy cloth.
Loki stood up and glanced down at his hand. It was badly bruised and slightly swollen, especially around his knuckles which had carried the brunt of the force as he’d hit Thor.

Summary: Damian wakes up from a terrible nightmare, and Dick and Jason drag them into their bed for some cuddles.
A/N: Little bit of backstory: Damian ran away from Bruce for whatever reason and started living with Dick and Jason. Now he has two daddies looking out for him.
Damian startled awake, gasping and panting. Sweat plastered his short hair to his forehead. After a moment of staring at the wall with wide, shocked blue eyes, Damian buried his head in his hands and began to cry. Sobs wracked his body and warm tears soaked his clammy palms.
Dick stumbled sleepily out of his and Jason's room, throat dry and in search of water. He trudged towards the kitchen. He stopped when he heard the sound of broken and unsteady breathing.
"Damian?" Dick called quietly, searching the darkness for the ten year-old.

Every healer was busily tending to what survivors there were, and with every moment more and more arrived. Loki carried the young girl to him, holding her close. He could feel the stares of everyone as he passed by, wondering what on earth he was doing with this child. He didn’t care what they thought. Let them wonder. Let their minds create whatever horrid stories they would. His only concern was for the child in his arms.
By now the child had stopped crying, and lay still in his arms as she looked around curiously. When the healers were in sight, she had gripped tighter to Loki’s neck, as if she feared being separated from him. He relished the child’s innocent touch. She trusted him completely – it was not something he was used to.
Loki was almost to the healers when someone blocked his path. Loki glared at Thor, who eyed him suspiciously.
“What is this, brother?” Thor inquired, staring at the little child that looked up at him with

He looked to see Conner still on the ground, he ran as fast as his wobbly legs let him, stumbling as he went. Kneeling down, he began to shake Conner. "Come on Supy, you have to wake up!" he desperately said, he deactivated Conner's collar, and his own as he tried to rouse Conner. The next morning, breakfast was scarcely over when a servant from Netherfield brought the following note for Darcy:

They insist also on my seeing Mr. Jones. Therefore do not be alarmed if you should hear of his having been to me. Except a sore throat and headache, there is not much the matter with me. I only wish I had not forgotten my notebook. Yours, Jane."
"Well, my dear," said Mr. Coulson after the note was read aloud, "If your daughter should die, it would be a comfort to know that it was all in pursuit of Mr. Odinson."
"Oh! I am not afraid of her dying. People do not die of trifling little colds. She will be taken good care of. As long as she stays there, it is all very well. I would go and see her if I could have the carriage,” Mrs. Coulson said.

It was hard for him to be there, on so many levels. He really shouldn't be there. The others were avoiding their families and friends, staying in the shadows like they all promised until they figured out how to fix things. But as soon as he heard, he had to see it for himself. The others couldn't blame him. They'd do the same if one of their own had died.
Steph and Cass wanted to go with him, but that was risky. If too many bats, or doubles of bats, appeared in Gotham, things could spiral out of control. One at a time could come though, if he tested the waters first. Shaky, Tim made it to the grave site and gaped at the headstone.

Zatara and his young six-year-old daughter Zatanna walked into the small hotel in Gotham city. Zatara had an important meeting in Gotham; he needed to be in Gotham for a couple of days because of this. Zatanna was there as well because she couldn't be left alone. It had been a slow, uneventful night at the Watch Tower. Everyone was doing something uneventful, board out of their minds. They didn't know what to do. The world was safe for now, and everyone was at the Watch Tower currently, a sort of bonding exercise or something. Well actually everyone was there but Batman of course. He had some sort of excuse. Most of the League was hanging out in the cafeteria; they were either eating or quietly talking to one another. The conversations were mostly small talk. It wasn't anything too big. Stuff about things the Leaguers did with their families or some villain they defeated. The conversations didn't really go beyond that.
Diana, Dinah, and Shayera were sitting together talking. A few of the boy leaguers were making dirty jokes across the room. And J'onn was sitting at a table enjoying Oreos. So yes most of them were board and had nothing to do. That is until the lights suddenly went out. The League looke

“I don’t get you, Jason,” Connor admitted as they cross the state line into Nevada.
This whole trip could have been rendered unnecessary with a call to the League, but that would mean Roy would be the last to know his daughter was alive, and that a lot of people would get their hopes up before they could verify that Lian was... herself. Connor couldn’t do that to Roy, or Dinah, or anyone. So that meant taking the long way, and taking a week to drive out to Gotham and get Dick to run some tests. The Batcave would have the necessary equipment, Jason was sure. It was a long time to wait to find out whether family was alive. But it would mean less heartbreak in the end.
“Big fucking surprise,” Jason replied amicably.
“Language.” Connor suspected that he was going to wind up feeling like broken record by the time they reached Gotham.
Jason smirked insufferably. “Whatever. Anyway, you’re not supposed to get me.

Robin was laughing so hard he fell over. Ollie had his arms wrapped around his legs and was rocking back and forth next to the two boys in front of Dick. You sat up in your bed, your teeth chattering. You looked at your alarm clock, and the bright red letters peek out against the darkness. 2:24 AM. You sighed and kicked the covers off of you, letting out a loud shiver as the sudden bitter cold touched your skin. Goosebumps developed, and you rubbed your legs for some warmth. Why you decided to sleep in a green tank top and black shorts, you had no idea.
Standing up from your bed, exhausted, you searched around the floor for your jacket, which you remembered was casually tossed on the floor before you went to bed. Your toes touched something fuzzy, warm. Got it. You picked it up with your foot and pulled it over your arms, letting it envelope you in complete warmth.
