Was bored last night having no work to be doing, so I figured I'd actually practice some animating for lol and did a lil head turn practice with good ol' Elly.

RabRab's only purpose in life is to look after his empty room, clearing away any dust that builds up. His mortal enemy is the Tingle, an annoying creature that bounces around and makes horrid noises. Watch as the Rabrab desperately attempts to get rid of an evading Tingle with his trusty hammer.

Made for a Uni project which was simply "make an animation with 2D and 3D in it, that involves a entity interacting with their environment". I decided to expand on an idea I had for the Tea N Crumpets website, featuring a Tingle (those creatures that bounce around the loading screens of the site) and a re-design of RabRab (If you look at the Intro/News page you'll see the old RabRab running about, complete with arms and teeth and yes, that is 'MOO' written on his hammer for some reason).

The 3D is pretty glitchy in places, because I'm pretty new to using 3D software, especially Maya of which I've literally just started using with this film. I hid and Photoshopped over a lot of really nasty glitches, though.

Took about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks to animate in the end. Enjoy~
(Oh and er...you may want to adjust your volume..loud Tingle is louuuud.)

EDIT: Oops, in the credits I forgot to mention where the light bulb footage came from: [link]

Successful looped sound clip is successful. Watch your ears when your first load it up.

Music is an excerpt from good ol' Bibio's "Sugarette".

Just added the music to this flash today-- hopefully I can nab a chance to use this audio loop for another animation.

Hey, YOU should go watch Double Rainboom sometime! ( [link] ) And if you've already seen it, you should probably go watch it again! Because, more likely than not, you probably missed a reference or three. And I also talk about spoilers in this description, so if you haven't watched it you'll spoil quite a few things for yourself if you continue to read this. ;)

--------------------------

Here's the FLA (in Flash CS5.5 format) for those that are just THAT curious about what makes everyone's favorite troll tick, or just want to slap him in a bunch of animated GIF's: [link]

Yes, that's right.

I got to animate the infamous Trollface in Double Rainboom.

Funny how things work out, huh? :XD:

When I joined the crew for Double Rainboom and sent in my thoughts of the script, one of the things I just never quite understood was why, of all things, the Trollface was there. Why not a generic evil face? Or a My Little Pony villain? Heck, after reading the script, why not even use a Cartoon Network character?

As I kept reading over the script though, I started to realize that all three of those options would never work here. A CN villain would spoil the plot twist too much. A MLP villain or a generic evil face would do very little to prepare the viewer for the plot twist later on. I kind of realized then, and after talking with the director later on, that the Trollface was there as the absolute sign that this was a fan-made episode, and that literally ANYTHING could happen now that fans ran the helm. It is probably the biggest sign (aside from the CN characters, of course) that the film isn't trying to be exactly like the show, but rather slowly become something different. And suddenly, all the CN characters showing up doesn't seem so out of the blue.

As for animating the Trollface, it was fun animating a character I personally despise and trying to give him some character and different expressions besides that same old grin he always has. My first attempt was mostly just because I was confused on what Zach wanted, but after talking it over with him and the crew we decided on giving him a slow Grinch-like evil grin. Overall, twas fun animating the guy, and animating a character I've seen way too many times personally was a wonderful exercise in doing your best on an assignment and trying to make it great, even if you don't personally like a specific character all that much.

Animation done for the Action Analysis module of the first year of my university course. This was done jointly with Matias Greenwood, who voiced/animated his character Remus.

Iv'e finally finished my silly little cartoon I created just for a flash class of mine from city college here in Sanfrancisco It's really late but better late than never I like to say. I wanted to post this right before I got to a college in Fresno so I can learn to live on my own and cook for myself and meet new friends as well. I hope to look for a (Traditional) animation job someday and I wish to keep making great hilarious animations for Newgrounds.com my favorite flash website. I wish to be a famous animator just like HappyHarry, EgoRaptor, The-Swain, Jazza, MindChamber, JohnnyUtah, Wonchop, EddsWorld, Gonzossm, HotDiggedyDemon, Chluaid, Luis, Tmst, Rwappin, TheWeebl, and much more. Thats mostly what I've always wanted to do in my life. I wish to get front page on Newgrounds someday too that would be a dream come true. This is just a small episode of one out of a million ideas I have in my head ready to be animated.

PS: Animation is still under work. I just need to finish animating the smoke from the Rocketship and thats all. Please forgive me for that. I'll be back to finish it tho. Im just moving into a college with my own room for the 1st time. And im not sure when I'll have time to animate again. (I can't live without animation!) ;)
