Rainbow's tail. Coloring the stripes. Coloring the stripes correctly, making sure that there isn't too much of one color and too little of another so that it's accurate. Very painful. Worth it. This is one of those rare occasions where the finished product is actually better then the sketch, and that makes me pretty happy. I would've submitted this earlier but I wasn't finished and didn't have time to finish it before I left for florida for a week.
As a side note, the name of the .psd file was "chikin and rainbew".
Really liked the pokemon variants and crossbreeds thing and wanted to do some, too. So I started off with one of my favorite starters and my pokesona's species, Quilava! Hope you like it! 1. The Standard "Stoat"--General Quilava, often chosen specifically to give to first-time trainers as a Cyndaquil. Multipurpose for battling and contests as well as just keeping as a pet. Very loyal and brave. Most common form.
2. The "Canine"--More of a wild breed, not as fast as the other two but a hell of a lot stronger. More wild and dangerous than the others, and as a result not often seen domesticated unless it's by powerful trainers who can keep it in check. Very floofy, especially around the neck. Sterji is this particular variant.
3. The "Ferret"--Almost exclusively domestic, this particular Quilava is a formidable participant in contests and popular because of its sleek, glossy fur and longer tail. Not a good battler, but a pretty decent pet. It's common for them to have different kinds of markings; the one above shows an example of both the above-the-eye spots and the collar.
Different fire colors are incredibly rare, but not unheard of. After the basic red/orange/yellow, blue and purple appear to be seen the most. Listed above are only the three most notable coat colors, but there are a multitude of other combinations. While red is the most common, Quilava have shown to be capable of possessing other eye colors. None of these are necessarily considered "shiny" traits, but rather genetic mutations and sometimes possibly a result of crossbreeding with other species.
This deviation is not mine. It was made by RainbowSwaggie, and because their account has been deactivated, resulting in all deviations being deleted, I've decided to upload this pic because, well, I just love PinkieDash. Anyway, I hope you enjoy.
