To all my non Egyptian friends please readplease take a second of your time and read thisTo all my non Egyptian friends please read2 years ago in Personal More Like This
To all my non Egyptian friends that are getting their news from the Western media. What is happening now in Egypt is NOT a military coup. It's the People's Revolution against a fascist, fanatic regime. 33 million Egyptians are out in the streets to kick Morsi and the Muslim Brotherhood OUT once and for all, this is all because of the youth revolutionary movement named "TAMAROD: revolt" who gather over 22 million signed petition by the Egyptian citizens stating that we dont want morsi as a leader anymore, since he no longer honor the law nor the constitution . The media, especially CNN is depicting the picture that they want you to believe since the American administration supports this fanatic, terrorist government. The Egyptians have spoken with a completely free will power to change this country around. The army is by our side to protect us and protect our beloved Egypt.

Hello my Favorite people.Firstly, I am way behind in my thanking....I try to keep up but it is becoming impossible!Hello my Favorite people.1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Thank you with all my heart for all your responses and to so much support...........love you all.
In the next 2 weeks I think things are really going to get very busy:
We have to pack up our stuff from this Rental House........move it to somewhere!
Still so much to co-ordinate with moving stuff here and there....furniture, appliances etc.
Still have to get mattresses, sheets, pillows etc etc
We leave Sri Lanka (NO!) on the 7th March for France............the ONLY thing I am looking forward to is seeing our 'fur' babies.
As a lot of you know we have not finished the house here but hopefully be able to co-ordinate with our Builder on Skype.
Then we HAVE to come back on 24th April to really move in and get the place ready to rent out for the Summer.
We have had such a great time here and living in the middle of Galle suburbia has been a highlight despite the noise.........we have learned so much.
No13 News, Quotes and Features.Hi to all journal readers,No13 News, Quotes and Features.1 year ago in Personal More Like This
-Been nearly 3 weeks since the last Journal, but wasn’t feeling too well due pain in the neck, and last weekend the lower back started as well. But with the help of painkillers and anti-inflammatory agents feeling better today.
-Anyhow we managed last Saturday very early in the morning, to go to Antwerp in Belgium for some shopping, and race back to the border with Holland to be there around 10 for the opening of the Fantastyval festival at The Wouwse Plantage near the village of Roosendaal.
-At around 3 in the afternoon, my cervical vertebrae was getting painfull , and with 1 ½ hour drive too our house, we called it a day.
-Rest of the week was cumbersome, working with the pain , and therefor very tired so after work went straight to bed, woke up for diner watched some TV and back to bed again.
- today feeling a bit better and stopped with the painkillers and anti-inflammatory agents and feeling.
-So here the journal after 3 weeks of silenc
Trying to keep a 'sense of humour!'Not easy..............got over lung infection nearly then ate something (bad cough mixture) and ended up in Hospital being fed on drips.Trying to keep a 'sense of humour!'1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Also had the worst CRAMPS in my legs and feet ( Hospital bemused by the noise I made) that NO person should ever have to experience EVER.
It seems I have a lack of Calcium and B vitamins!
STILL cannot walk and legs and feet severely bruised.
Martin and me have just 'walked away' from House (in a calm Hotel trying to recover) because we will be dead if we carry on.
We will handle what needs to be done from France.
This is kind of important to me and maybe a LOT of other dear friends: Lifelong Dreams!
Mine is 'threatening' to come true (living in My Birthplace again) BUT with it a much more difficult reality than I could ever have foreseen.

I do hope you will all join us in this endeavour?

Saidpur: The Myth, The Facade and The Reality
Saidpur Village situated on the slopes of Margalla Hills in Islamabad is one of the oldest villages of Pakistan. It dates back more than five hundred years.
The work to convert Saidpur into a multicultural and historical tourist attraction was started by Capital Development Authority in 2006 under the supervision of Chairman CDA Mr. Kamran Lashari.
Saidpur was successfully converted into a beautiful quaint village in 2008. The government of France provided technical assistance in this work and total cost was Rs. 400 million.
What the casual observer sees .. driving into the so-called multi-cultural historical tourist attraction to his only destination, which is the village square which houses nothing more than and old temple, a single room of photographs called a museum and a conglomeration of some of the most expens

This Journey will never be far from one of the worst journeys I have ever been on!
I am walking around like a ZOMBIE right now............this is explaining my absence.
Left home by car with:
3 wooden boxes of framed pictures of mine (21 pics in all, 5 Poster sized).
I large heavy box with all sorts of stuff we need here.
1 Large suitcase again with some clothes and tools which we can't get here.
I small roll-on suitcase.
Cast iron roller to manouvre paintings around.
Martins office work in a very heavy briefcase.
My computer, bag and camera
All in all we had 11 items!
TGV Station.......no Elevators working so we moved all this up to the 2nd floor via a ramp which was like a small hill!
Getting onto train: Small doors, people pushing and shving to get on....not one person offering to help!
No baggage place........which we later found at the other end of our compartment..............so we moved everything down to the other end

1. Please do NOT watch me unless you carry through with the meaning of this word.
I really do not want watchers (nearly 2,000) most of whom I have never seen or heard of again!
2. I help with donations, yes .......but not because you watch me!
3. I LOVE looking at Art and I am in a position to request a LOT of images.
Please, I mean this, you do NOT have to thank me at all. I am happy doing this.
If I have to answer every time I get a 'thanks' it takes away time for doing my watching?
I know a LOT of you consider it rude not to thank someone............I don't mind at all.
4. Because I have so much mail, I do not have time to comment on images as much as I used to and I would like to comment more...so please just do the bare minimum where I am concerned.
5. The people I watch are people who I consider are either a. Brilliant

Willy Ronis: the light hunterWilly Ronis (1910-2009) is one of France's most remarkable photographers, to whom, along with Doisneau, Cartier-Bresson, and Brassaļ, we owe our romantic vision of France.Willy Ronis: the light hunter2 years ago in Personal More Like This
In Ronis's photos of Paris, the city is inseparable from the working class men, women, and children who inhabit its streets and cafes. He once described his approach to photography in five words: "patience, thinking, chance, form, and time."
Working with available light, Ronis sought to capture the fleeting moments of everyday life, and his body of work documents, with timeless beauty and grace, the feel of French life in the 20th century.
Sri LankaA bit about this Country as so many people have been asking:Sri Lanka2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Situated: S. tip off India.
Religions: Buddhist. Hindu. Tamil. Moslem and Christian
The greatest 2 things about this Country are the people (who never stop smiling and trying to be helpful) and the beauty.
The soil is very rich and any amount of plants can be grown.
People put sticks into the ground for fences and they begin to flower!
Driving is somewhat erratic bur once you figure out the 'scheme' of things and the Sri Lankan mind, it is quite fun.
Directions: Something definitely missing here................no understanding of right and left and people NEVER admit they don't know something. This results in extra long journeys BUT it's fun and Martin and I figured out very early on that if one follows a signpost to some shop or something, the signposting runs out and we have to ask someone who will then direct us somewhere else which is not there.............all a mystery.
ONLY serious bad thing is....dogs.
Not looked after
SO f.....g depressed. No idea why possibly because I am not in Sri Lanka and am back in lazy/cold/depressing France where everyone wears dark colours and to get a 'smile' not possible!SO f.....g depressed.3 months ago in Personal More Like This
Dislike the cold and the wind has been blowing since we arrived.
Yes, I know I shouldn't be complaining, I have the best of everything.....just goes to show that money does not mean being happier?
Not that we have a LOT of it but enough to be able to Travel.
I could stay in SL BUT this means being without 'hubby'.....NOT cool.
I am going to be cutting down my activity here on d/a......my energy level is grinding to a halt BUT :love-new-artists I will always be there for.

Lately I have joined a few and my pics wait and wait and...................oh God.......EXPIRE!
NO this is NOT how to run a Group..............NO! No! No!
On:l-n-a we have nearly 2,000 members, we manage to comment on every submission, forward a LOT to: Nine-Muses, request.

I am worried:
1. About the World
2. About the changing temperatures.
3. About all Religions (right wing sects) being against each other.
4. About the very 'poor' people.

I often think a Country IS it's people and certainly I don't think there are many places in the World where the people are just SO kind.
Everywhere we went we were Welcomed, had fun with and generally enjoyed lots of talks.
The Waiters in restaurants, people in the Markets on the Street just wonderful.
The only other Country's in the World which I have been to where people are like this is Sri lanka and possibly China.
Again this phenomenon is BECAUSE of the people.
There are cats everywhere you look, every corner, every Restaurant............you name the place they are there.
They are exceptionally healthy cats too in that they are fed grandiose amounts of food and water.
Instead of this upsetting me, I found it pretty awesome.
Goes to show that cats can live hap
