Redux: Dreymeil Goes HomeDreymeil stepped onto the snowy shores of the northern island, and turned to look behind him. His loyal serpent resided in the shallow water and watched over him. He smirked and gave a short wave to the large beast, before it turned around and slithered off into the murky ocean.Redux: Dreymeil Goes Home3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
The blue-haired demon began his trek across the beach, leaving footsteps in the snow and sand as he walked. Dreymeil looked up at the cloudy skies, and then let his eyes wander to the town at the top of the cliffs ahead of him. He walked towards them, turning his face back down to the ground. The chilling wind pierced against his skin and howled in his ears. He kept his posture hunched, and had his arms crossed across his chest. Even with a heavy cloak draped over him, he had trouble retaining his body heat in this arctic terrain. Dreymeil shivered, and marched on.
Eventually, he reached the town of Cyreal, which was a small, frozen cluster of wooden houses and buildings. There were a few streets made of stone

Episode 0 - Three Demons, Against the World
A pitched black night loomed over the barren land, an endlessly starless sky. Not a sliver of the moon could be seen in the sky, that appears darker than the opaqueness of closed eyes. There stood tall mountains, and a thick forest across the vast terrain. Down through the trees, lies a path through the woods. The trail had been cleared; there were several faceless dead bodies scattered to the side, fallen on the ground of slumped against a tree trunk. The blood from the corpses were still fresh, and seeped out onto the dirt and grass under them.
A broken wagon sat in the middle of the road, with the spoils spilled out. Boxes and crates seemed been broken, and items such as gold coins, precious stones and metal jewelery were scattered along the path. Two men were standing by the cart, analyzing the contents.
One of them had gray hair and was dressed in a dark cloak and pants, also holds a white staff with a clear orb at the tip. The firs

Chisoku wiped the last specks of blood off his face, and cracked his neck. "Meh... I can get used to this again." he grinned with a hint of menace. It had been too long since he had a chance to kill off populations of people. The sight of motionless bodies strewn across the ground was oddly pleasing. He was glad to find that his skills hadn't lost too much of their edge even after all the years. His powers weren't quite up to the level they were from before the war, but he'd get them back.
"You know... I thought that the Great Demon King could do better than this." Dreymeil commented. "It took you long enough to take care of your 50." he rolled his eyes. "And to think we let you call yourself our leader..."
"He has a point." Eclipse murmured. "You're not like how the legends describe... able to kill an army of men in one blow of mass destruction?" he questioned. From what he's seen so far, all Chisoku could do was withstand high temperatures, survi

Just as Eclipse had predicted, they reached the city by the early morning. At that point, all of them were just about ready to collapse on the spot again. The only thing that kept the demons going was the thought of a soft bed in one of the inns, and dry clothes. Ahead were the tall city walls, and the road where people were already traveling on. Where the entrance was, there were guards positioned and archers set in nearby lookout towers.
"This place looks pretty official." Dreymeil commented. How are we gonna get in this time?" he asked, turning to Eclipse for their sneak in plan.
"Hm... I doubt we can get by with just the regular disguises. Our weapons are questionable, and we don't want to cause a scene in an area like this..." Eclipse sighed. He scanned the walls and deduced that they were too high to climb. "That leaves us with either using an invisibility spell or..." he trailed off and yawned again. "One of your illusions, Drey..."

“I don’t know Tom,” You say in a low mutter, whispered as a cold wind catches the words adrift in the air, wondering if your companion caught them by the ear or missed them as they passed, “this is something I don’t really like talking about.” Your voice was muffled by an artistically crafted scarf that snuggled around your neck, the thin fabric wrapped around itself in layers upon layers; though, delicately covering your lips and round cheeks from the open, chilly draft that seeped into your outer garments. But also because you had a subtle awareness that he might notice the rich, cardinal strokes of a current blush strewed by an invisible paintbrush across the hills of your cheeks, results of a flattering remark the beautiful enchantment of his voice spoke of regarding your sympathetic psyche.
“You know, you should learn to embrace and believe the many compliments people speak of you, including me. Especially me.” You heard the ethereal

He doesn’t know how long he’s been sitting, watching; seconds, minutes, hours blur together in his mind and right now he doesn’t want to think about anything. The runway lights are a sort of beauty he had never appreciated before; an artificial gold against the dark blue backdrop of the sky, glinting that reflects off his glasses. They seem to dance in the night and 30,000 feet above him another airplane soars by, leaving nothing in its wake but the remaining twinkle of a light and the swirl of exhaust that mingles within the air.
He’s lost track of how many airplanes he’s counted now, and he’s awed as he watches them fly into the darkness, watches until they’re out of sight and even then his blue eyes squint as he tries to find them again in the night. He’s never realized the simplistic beauty of watching a pla

Chapter 10: Take Me Instead
I stared at the treaty form which was laid perfectly flat on the cold wooden table. My hand shaking at the amount of pressure from the group of men and women staring at me, waiting on what I was about to do. Sweat drops rolling down my forehead and my foot tapping slightly on the hard marble floor.
“I know what’s best for me and my people…” I stared at the woman who gave me a baffled look on how determined and confident my statement was.
I looked down again, put the ballpoint pen on the table, and grabbed the treaty in my hands. I still continued to look at the fine writing and placements of words on the heavily detailed paper.
‘To be one with America, a change for the better…’
I ripped up the treaty sending flying scraps of papers in the air, all the while the men and women who were in the room were either gasping, bewilder, or celebrating at what I have just done moments ago. I stood up from my ch

They had dozed off on the couch at some point watching Kris' favorite cartoon ("Johnny Bwavo wike Unca Johnny!") and the scene was too precious for Steve to disturb.
Kris was lying on top of you, his large blue eyes shut and red, white, and blue pacifier still in his mouth. His bangs were in his face and Steve feared the first haircut that was definitely coming soon. His little left hand curled into your black jacket and the other was in your hair, while his head rested on your chest.

The idea of visiting Ikea was a good one, at first. Bringing along one of the Avengers was a good idea, at first. Now (Y/N) was lost in the middle of one of the biggest home furnishing stores in the country with Thor by her side.
The God of Thunder didn't seem to mind this, however. He enjoyed walking around the store, reading the labels of the furniture that no one could understand with clear simplicity. He would often translate the words - even though they were slightly obvious to anyone in the premises - but (Y/N) enjoyed listening to him ramble on about a language that he could speak without a second thought.
"How long have we been here for?" Thor asks, pushing a trolley as (Y/N) walks beside him. She observes a few of the lamps that are sitting on the shelf.

The sun seemed unusually bright that morning. Almost blinding, after a long night of sleep in the crevices of the church. Nerra rubbed her eyes sleepily and crawled out of her hiding spot behind the grand building, and out onto the stone street slowly. Picking herself off the ground, Nerra brushed the dirt off her knees and stretched. "Haa.... 'Wonder if the soup kitchen's open yet..." the half-elf said aloud, before deciding that it was better to go early so that there would still be hot food available.
The girl wandered down the busy lanes of the city, keeping her gaze on the ground as she walked. Although it was unlikely, she always liked to keep an eye out for fallen copper pieces, or other forgotten scraps of metal that people dropped. One man's junk was another man's treasure, after all. Especially when she was penniless, aside from her single more prized possession.
Nerra slipped her right hand into the pocket of her shorts, and felt the familiar round ring in her palm. "I wonde

The first time you'd seen Gaara, that had been your greeting; a cold, blunt, hardly-appealing command from an eleven-year-old, red-head with no eyebrows. Regardless of how you wanted to remember the story, it was the complete, unalterable truth that you'd willingly complied within nanoseconds, too afraid to resist. When he was eleven, Gaara had been sent to kill your parents who were traitors of the hidden sand. You didn't know at the time of course, but apparently, that had been the sand siblings' mission that day; but also, to bring home their child.
