Five and One - Okay, make it Six
SUMMARY: (AU) Five times a Cat got the better of a Bat and the one time... well, maybe we should just make it six.
AUTHOR'S NOTES: This little nibble struck me the other day after I was going through my favorites over on DA trying to get some inspiration for a few YJ pieces I'm working on. Then I saw this image by Callousvixen:
It's a shame they never got to introduce Catwoman to the Young Justice Verse. There are so many versions of Catwoman that do the character justice, but I think I'm most fond of the Animated version from the 90s. She was just the perfect counterpoint for Batman. However, I adored Anne Hathaway's costume from The Dark Knight Rises so that's what I've based the look on. Google it if you'd like a reference.
This story is pure ridiculous. I started writing it and it just kept getting worse and worse. And I love every wo

Author's Note: A while back, I held a poll on which RiD one-shot I would write next. This one came in 4th on Deviant Art with 13% of the vote and 3rd on with 14% of the vote. I've tried to write the others before it, but they weren't cooperating so here we are!
This has been a nibble in my mind for a while now and I think I've broken through my writer's block enough to get this out. I hope it meets my expectations as well as yours. It begins during the battle on Malina Island at the end of the second season episode "Alienated".
Disclaimer: Young Justice is not mine; Batman/Robin/et al are not mine; basically none of it is mine but I'm playing with them anyway! I promise I'll return them when I'm done with them… hopefully with all the right pieces. *EvilGrin*

Author's Note: This story has been in the works for a very long time. Again, it wouldn't have been possible if not for the lovely and uber wonderful Fiona who worked with me on this during a very difficult time in her life. Hun, you are just too cool for words! Thanks again.
The picture used for the story was created by Mxi665. Actually, the pic is what inspire the story in the first place. It just took me a really long time to finish it. The artwork can be found here: I'm Okay Now.
Thanks, Mxi665, for letting me use the image.

Not My BatmanIt was morning at Wayne manor and as usual the majority of it's residents were up bright and early. Alfred was preparing breakfast for the household while Damian sat at the counter reading through one of his school text books. Dick entered the kitchen dressed in his usual work attire, pants and a button down shirk with no tie and a jacket he slung over one of the chairs. Not My Batman3 years ago in Humor More Like This
"Morning everyone," he said in that cheery voice they all knew well. "Where's Bruce?"
"Master Bruce has decided to sleep in this morning. Apparently he isn't quite ready to go back to work." Alfred explained placing a bowl of cereal in front of Damian. The ten year old glared at the corn flakes floating in the milk, but began eating none the less. Dick sat beside him and flipped open the morning paper.
"Alfred have you seen my suit case?" he asked casually.
"Going somewhere, Grayson?" Damian questioned.
"I'm returning to New York," Dick answered.
"I'm going to resume my role as Nightwing," Dick explained.
Popular Mechanics For Lovers [Bruce/Dick, PG-13]The shouting is first, and it always begins with Dick. In Tim's mind, few things are scarier than the roar of Dick's voice, raised to fever pitch and shouting bloody murder loud enough to echo up to the bedrooms.Popular Mechanics For Lovers [Bruce/Dick, PG-13]2 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
Bruce's bellowing comes close. Because it sounds nothing like a raging Batman, or Brucie Wayne on the rampage in the company boardroom. Sentences break, twisting into cracked fragments, and words falter into shaky growls; this is a side of Bruce that only Dick and Alfred are allowed to see -- open, raw, exposed.
Only Dick has the privilege of knowing this Bruce, intimately. Tim and the others grab at flickers, in the secret looks that sometimes pass between Dick and Bruce, when they think nobody's looking, or in the intimate moments that are inadvertently walked in on. (Inadvertently for Tim. Damian might just do it on purpose.)
This is the true Bruce, laid completely bare during these fights, and he's matched entirely by the narrow-eyed, pinch-lipped Dick who lurks dee
Dad"You're never going to call me 'Father,' are you?" I ask Damian with a smirk as he stomps through the batcave with a small scowl. He stops for a moment and turns to me, blue eyes narrowing into a glare.Dad3 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
"Never," he replies sharply. I just chuckle at his childish attitude before turning back to the Batcomputer to type in the report, the cave going silent. About halfway through, a word breaks through the silence, so soft I almost don't hear it.
"However..." I hear quietly behind me. I turn my head just enough to glance over my shoulder and catch a glimpse of the barely noticeable blush on Damian's cheeks before he looks away. I can't keep myself from smiling at it.
"I think the term 'Dad' would fit you better."

Author's Note: This fic came to me after I heard, then saw the video for, the A Great Big World & Christina Aguilera duet "Say Something". It struck something in me and... well, this story is what came of it. If you haven't heard it, it can be found here: Say Something.

Warning: I never thought I would write one of these, but it turns out I was wrong. Not only is this a sonfic (something I'm not a big fan of) but it is also a Death!Fic.

The first time Dick said this, earlier that day, Bruce thought it was referring to him. Considering he was wearing the Batsuit at the time, it was more than a little surreal. Mommy is a definite first as far as names the Batman has been called go.
"Mommy's not here, Dick." Bruce tries for a gentle tone, adding a pat on the little head for good measure.
It isn't enough, though: Dick frowns, and puts his hands up, clearly asking to be taken out of the cart. Perhaps it's better not to indulge him, but Bruce does so, anyway. Dick at this age is terribly small, fitting easily into Bruce's big, clumsy arms.

Batman was snarling at the team, but most specifically, at Robin. The mission had been long and hard, with three days and two nights invested in what ultimately turned out to be a failure. The goal was surprisingly simple: get in, get the sample, get out. Unfortunately, it hadn't gone so smoothly. An alarm had been tripped at the warehouse they had been investigating, somehow slipping by Robin's electronic precautions. Armed gunmen had immediately arrived, shooting and blowing things up until there wasn't much left.
The team, bloody and bruised and battered, had managed to escape with their lives, but hadn't managed to get a sample of the chemical they were supposed to be investigating. Their mentors, frantic and worried, had beamed the team up to the Watchtower, where they recieved immediate medical care.
Batman was furious, but worst of all, he blamed Robin.
"How could you let your guard down?" The Dark Knight's voice was a whisper, but it somehow managed t
Date Night Chapter 1I wave Alfred goodbye as I head off to Wally's house. He invited me over for a date since his parents were out of town. We had lots of dates before but I hadn't been this nervous since our first date. I guess it was because we'd be alone in his house. I’d been to his house lots of times before, but we’ve never been…alone. I looked down at myself before knocking on the door. I checked to make sure the clothes were straight. I wore black jeans, a red shirt, red Converse and a black blazer with the sleeves rolled up to my elbows. I decided to go casual but still sexy.Date Night Chapter 11 year ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
I take in a deep breath and knock on Wally's door. A millisecond later my speedster is standing in front of me. He smiles as he looks down at me. He is wearing blue jeans, a white shirt, and a striped collared shirt that he left open and rolled the sleeves up to his elbows. "You look beyond sexy tonight," He smirks and gives me a quick kiss before inviting me in.
"Well I wanted to look good for you."
EmotionsDamian Wayne wouldn't call himself sentimental, not by a long shot. In fact, he prided himself on being one of the least emotional people he knew.Emotions3 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
Emotions only proved to be a hindrance, after all. No good would ever come from them in the heat of battle, so there really was no use for them other than as tools to procure girlfriends. And with his good looks and natural charm, he already had all the necessary measures to obtain any girl he wanted. Not that any of them were good enough, of course.
Besides, emotional guys were more girly than he deemed socially acceptable. Once a man confesses his feelings to the world, there's no stopping his descent into full-out girliness.
Just take Drake for example: he goes about, prancing like an idiot no less, and practically declaims to the entire planet that he and Superboy are best friends. This just sets off numerous rumors that they are actually lovers, which Damian dearly, truly hopes they are not. The sight of Drake parading around the Manor

"Alfie, can you help me next?" Dick sounded a little helpless.
"Do I have to tie your shoelaces too, master Dick?" Alfred said stoically.
"Very funny, Alfie. Will you please help me now?"
"Sometimes I wonder where you would all be right now, if I was not here to help you." Alfred said turning to Dick to help him.
"Uhm, I don't want to know I think." Was all that Dick said.
Then he turned to Damian, "Why don't you try to make some friends today instead of making them cry, little D."
He didn't look forward to another talk with Damian's principal.
Damian just grumbled.
"Class, today we're going on a fieldtrip." Mr. Williams said.
The other kids looked at the teacher expectantly, so Damian followed their example.
"We'll be going to a museum that is out in the open and just outside of Gotham. There is a park wi

"Um," Dick hesitated a moment while struggling with his own necktie, "Why don't you ask Alfred, I'm busy!" he yelled back.
Five minutes later everyone was ready to go to school, or in Dick's case, ready to go to a Wayne Enterprises meeting.
"Alfred needs to run some errant's, so I'll drop you off at school today, Damian. " Dick said.
"Maybe then you can warn the teachers." Tim said chewing on an apple.
"Tt!" was the boy's only response.
"Come on! Get in the car, or you'll be late for your first day of school!"
"Students, this is your new classmate Damian Wayne." The teacher introduced him, "I'm Mr. Williams and I will be your teacher for the rest of the year."
Damian looked around the class with his arms crossed.
He wasn't planning on making it easy for his new teacher.

Damian's school week Wednesday"Okay class, we have some time left until lunch break, so use it to work on your projects." Mr. William's voice rang through the classroom.Damian's school week Wednesday2 years ago in Humor More Like This
Damian sighted. Since it was only his third day of school he didn't have a project to work on so he probably would be stuck again with some stupid assignment of which he didn't see the point.
And indeed it didn't take Mr. William's long to come up to his table with a piece of paper in his hand.
"I have a different assignment for you, Damian."
Damian rolled his eyes, but Mr. William's just ignored it.
"I'd like you make a card for your father, since it's his birthday tomorrow.."
"Grayson's not my father!" Damian snapped, but instantly he regretted it. Dick had been more of a father to him lately, then anybody ever had.
"He's my brother, I guess." he added , his voice a little less sharp.
"Brother then. Here I have some pencils and a card for you. I would like to see it when you're done."
Damian grumbled and started working on his card.

"I'm fine, Pennyworth." Damian grumbled, wiped some sweat of his brow and continued eating his cereal.
He looked up when Tim entered the kitchen.
"Hey Dami, are you okay?"
Why did everybody all of a sudden care so much about him?
"Fine." Damian grumbled again.
Alfred walked to door, checked the hallways and closed it.
"What are you doing, Alfred?" Tim asked
"Making sure Master Dick is not here."
Damian looked up again,
"It's his birthday today, so please remember to be home in time. We will have some guests."
"Sure thing, Alfie. " Tim said, grabbing his backpack. He waved to Damian with a mock smile "See you later Damian." and exited the kitchen. Damian watched him go with a scowl.
"We shall be leaving soon too, Master Damian. Are you finished?"
Damian looked at his unfinished cereal and pushed the bowl away.
"Yes, I am finished Pennyworth."
YJ - Family MattersThe call from Bruce came at two in the morning but it was far from unexpected. The more nights he spent at Mt. Justice the more he would be woken up in the middle of the night. So like the many times before Dick pulled himself out of bed and made his way to the briefing room. When he was sure no one followed him he locked the door and went to the monitor to deactivate the cameras. When his own smiling face popped up onto the large screen he removed his sunglasses and rubbed at his eyes.YJ - Family Matters4 years ago in Fan Fiction More Like This
Now that he was feeling more awake he typed in the necessary commands on the computer and bypassed the security so he could get into Bruce's home computer system. When he was in the black screen clicked on and he saw the face of his 6 year old adopted brother staring at him.
It took the small child a few seconds before he noticed Dick and a wide smile crossed his face and a finger reached out so he could poke at the screen. It made him laugh and he could hear Bruce in the background scolding the younger

Next to him Tim chuckled.
"What?" he asked the teen raising his eyebrows.
Tim shrugged, "Nothing." He answered with an innocent smile on his face.
"You're scaring me again, Tim. Why are you laughing this time?" Dick asked again worriedly.
"I'm just imagining what Damian's reaction is going to be, when you tell him the good news."
Dick shuddered. "That's why I asked you as my backup." Then he turned towards the stair again.
"Damian!" he yelled again.
"What do you want, Grayson?" came the boy's voice from upstairs.
"Can you come down for a moment? I want to talk to you about something."
Tim laughed again, "Still haven't learned from your mistakes I see."
It seemed like Damian also thought he was in trouble again, because all the way down to the living room he was muttering.
"Talk." He ordered when he was standing face to face with Dick.
"Well…" Dick started, "You've been going to school for a week now, but.."
Damian was impatiently tapping his foot
Blindness is a Strength~Dick + Babs~Blindness is a Strength3 years ago in Romance More Like This
In my dreams, I fly again.
I close my eyes and, once more, I've got that line tight in my grip. My fingers are gloved, my face is masked. I can breathe again. I can breathe the air of the night, can breathe in every sound and every sight as the city does its dance of darkness. I can feel the sirens blaring in the distance, their pulsating lights creating a vibration against my skin.
I'm free again.
I can race forward, running on my own two feet, my legs long and lean, my heart pounding against my chest, shooting me with adrenaline like a drug. Fresh, alive, healthy. Not a single thought of doubt crosses my mind as I take that leap, as I dive headlong off another rooftop. I cast my line and it reels me back in and I fly like a spider, like a bird through the open air. I laugh. I cry. I feel something and that's what matters.
And then I'm falling, tumbling, and I remember reality.
My eyes flash open as I wake with a start. I stare ahead of me for a moment, recovering

Damian stuffed his books in his bag and got up. Grayson had been right the day before. After a good night's sleep he was right as rain again. So back to school it was. Just his luck.
Discreetly he glanced to his left at a girl who had been watching him since yesterday he'd noticed.
When their eyes met the girl quickly looked away.
He couldn't remember her name and didn't care either. Girls where a distraction nothing more. Even if she did look sort of pretty with her curly blond hair and bright green eyes.
At lunch Damian was sitting alone again. Nobody had dared to sit with him since the incident during the fieldtrip. He was fine with it.
From the corner of his eye he saw the girl looking at him again. Sitting next to her was a guy who was clearly older then her. When the guy caught her watching him he elbowed her and said something that Damian couldn't hear. But the girl stopped looking at him and looked at h

He gripped the wrench in his hand stronger and jerked a bolt extra tight to let out his annoyance, mumbling, "Tim..."

He looked up from his spot kneeling in front of one of the tires. He huffed as he threw his wrench aside into a toolbox and wiped the grease off with a handkerchief, "What do you want, baby bird?"
"DAMIAN'S SMOTHERING COLIN WITH HIS PELICAN!"
He wiped the back of his still oily hand on his forehead, "Again?"
"HURRY PLEA--- AAAGH DAMIAN, MY LEG IS NOT FOR TEETHING!"
Rubbing his temple with his fingers, he walked at his leisurely own pace down the hall, despite Tim's desperate cries echoing down the halls. He finally located where the shouting was coming from and creaked the door open with one hand to peek in.
All three of the young boys were engaged in a frenzied dog pile. Tim was on the bottom, looki

"Damian wait!" Mar'i yelled as the Boy Wonder ran out of the room, flinging his yellow cape behind him, tears streaming down his face.

That made the alien girl halt in her steps as the teen guy finally slammed the front door of Wayne Manor closed behind him.
"Damian," she whispered before straitening her shoulders and turning back around.
The clock was still open and she easily floated down the staircase, following her mother's cries. When she herself reached the bottom though, she couldn't help but gasp and release her own tears.
