Invaluable advice for improving your portrait photography, check out the roundup above for all of the articles!
I like to believe that improving our stock photography is a goal we all share, and it doesn't matter if you take model shots, landscape shots, building shots or object shots, and everything between. There are giant swathes of tutorials, guides and help if you ask for it for improving all aspects of your stock photography - there is no excuse for not taking pride in your work and doing the best you can to improve, or for not knowing how to make the best use of your camera, surroundings and lighting

Yoko Littner Cosplay FAQFor those of you who are aspiring to cosplay Yoko or are just curious as to which materials and techniques I used to make my Yoko cosplay, I will post them here, anonymously, of course. However, if you want to be identified for whatever reason, please tell me, otherwise I will reword your question and not quote or otherwise credit you.Yoko Littner Cosplay FAQ3 years ago in Personal More Like This
If there is a question not answered here, feel free to leave a comment (here or on a picture) or PM me! I am happy to answer! I will not make up questions for you- all of these here are things I have been asked by another person. Reason being, if you don't ask, I'll assume you already know how I made something or don't care, and there are a million questions I could make up on my own. ;3
Let us begin the Yoko FAQ!
How heavy is your rifle?
It's actually quite light, considering the size (it is four feet and nine inches). I'd estimate it to weigh about 5 pounds, since my 8 lbs exercise weight feels much heavier!
How did you make

DJ Smackdown is posting even more Vinyl pictures??
WASN'T THERE ALREADY ENOUGH?!?!
I think I'm done posting Vinyl pictures now... Maybe... Unless I'm doing a shoot with another pony or something. The reason for the recently uploaded Vinyl pictures is this: I've lost a lot of weight. Some people haven't noticed but some have, and it personally makes me feel amazing. I was at a very low point for health in my life when the actual photoshoots for Vinyl & Vinyl/Octavia were done and so far throughout 2013 I've lost nearly 50lbs. So to put it simply, my outfit and wig for Vinyl wasn't the only thing that's changed and I definitely wanted to have a couple shots of it. :]
Anyway, on to my other cosplays...
Rainbow Dash should be seen soon. I haven't had the time to do the photoshoot yet but one weekend very soon it'll be done. Spitfire though, that's another story. I was right in that creating this cosplay correctly was going to be a challenge. Progress fell ap

Talking about sculpting... as you know I've been learning a lot of this, just because! and I think it works for me somehow because I'm starting to create some things and liking the results a lot! (I dont feel this way very often)
This is my 2nd project, Mr Andrew Ryan from the videogame Bioshock
Commissioned for Ken Levine himself, very excited because he is my first costumer on this field and guess what? He loved it ^^ (Thanks God!)
I worked on it 21 days and as you can see, I wanted to give an affect as if it were under the sea for a long time with living things on it and such, so there!

What do you think your favorite city will look like in one hundred years?
Architect Rem Koolhaas has completed a “vertical city” complex in Rotterdam, bringing a new style of multi–purpose skyscrapers to the city skyline. Bennett Stein wrote about the new buildings for KCRW’s Design & Architecture blog, calling the creator “the Godzilla of architecture.”
Here’s an excerpt from Stein’s essay:

How to stay MotivatedHow to stay Motivated. How to stay Motivated7 months ago in Personal More Like This
I’m writing this article for the type of people who say that just can’t find motivation to:
Make a portfolio
Finish a painting
Work on their personal project
I got three tips I’m about to write, and it’s just advice and things that I found useful for myself. If you are capable to do any of these things you should definitely try them.
Fear. Get rid of it. If you are fearful of the outcome it will unmotivate you immediately. Just finish whatever it is and think about how you can improve after. If you can’t see what you need to improve ask someone else to tell you. There is always room to improve, and if you go into a critique with an open mind you will grow exponentially.
Think of it like this. If you were running one lap, and half way through you stopped because you were afraid you were going to throw up or pass out, you will never really know how fast you can run that lap. You didn’t push yours

The Capture vs. The Pose
portrait of a WW2 vet...
When a subject poses to have his or her photograph taken, the subject tries to project a message about himself or
herself by how he or she “poses”, by the attitude of his or her body language or facial expression.
If the subject is posed by the photographer, the body pulled and prodded into the desired angles,
the facial expression “directed”, it is the photographer who is intending to communicate a message.
In either case, posing or posed, there is undeniably something “false” in the representation.

It's Fall!!It's Fall!!3 months ago in Personal More Like This
And I couldn't be happier! I love everything about this season! Especially since this season contains my favorite holiday. I've always adored Halloween ever since I was a wee lass. My parents and I used to have a tradition where we would carve pumpkins while watching the original Halloween. The night of Halloween, we would always order Domino's and then my mom would help me with my costume makeup. I always loved being something scary instead of your typical princess. >:3 I don't know, I just stepped outside today, felt how cool it was, and was hit with a wave of nostalgia. This season and holiday mean a lot to me. I think I have fonder childhood memories associated with Halloween than I do with Christmas. This year though, I won't be handing out candy with my parents or trick-or-treating with my younger cousin due to me now living a state away. It tugs at the heartstrings a bit, but I'm loo

News from the Citadel!Hey guys!News from the Citadel!4 months ago in Personal More Like This
Glad to tell u I have some nice news : ))
First of all, some cosplay stuff: I finally created my Ariel bra and sewed the tail...and I finally cosplayed her in her mermaid version ♥ As some of you may know Ariel has always been my favourite Disney princess, along with some other girls like Rapunzel, Anna, Belle (...ok wait I love them all, you know I'm hopeless with this thing for princesses I've always had EHEH). ANYWAY I cosplayed my baby redhead mermaid and it's been just awesome!! Even if I have to say I'm not 100% satisfied of this costume: my tail is not fully visible in any pic, and it was pretty much uncomfortable and kind of imprecise; the bra was way too heavy and thick and I've been constantly afraid of remaining naked...I should fix these problems sooner or later, but I'm not probably gonna cosplay her again for a while so I'll think about it when the moment to do that will come again. I uploaded some pics tho, please tell me your opinions!!! Advices and crit
