5 Reasons to do it the traditional way5 Reasons to do it the traditional way5 Reasons to do it the traditional way1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
Traditional and Digital art are both completely different mediums, able to create the same product. It is possible to paint a beautiful, watercolor-like painting digitally, as well as achieve the cleanliness and color options of a digital piece traditionally. Therefore, using one or the other to express ourselves creatively is, just like many things in life, just an option. People may have personal, sometimes even illogical reasons for using one or the other and that's fine. Today, however, I'm a cheerleader for the "traditional side", and I offer you 5 reasons to do it traditionally!
1. Oh the wonderful smell of art supplies > I'm not talking about the toxic smell that come painting techniques require, of course. Rather about the feeling you get when entering a huge art supply store, touching all those brand new pencils and tubes

Significance is BeautifulLacking wisdom of my own, I'll share some more from Robert Henri (1865-1929):Significance is Beautiful8 months ago in Personal More Like This
"In my understanding of color, there is absolutely no such thing as color for color's sake. Colors are beautiful when they are significant. Lines are beautiful when they are significant. It is what they signify that is beautiful to us, really. The color is the means of expression. The reason that a certain color in life, like the red in a young girl's cheek, is beautiful, is that it manifests youth, health; in another sense, that it manifests her sensibility."

It's October and the sacred 31 days of Halloween are upon us-time to get your gore on! The chill is in the air, the leaves are on the ground, and Halloween candy has been out since Labor Day. So while you’re waiting in the Starbucks line for an overpriced double pumpkin spice whatever, pass the time with this year’s scary movies reviews!

Contest~ [DELAYED indefinitely]OCTOBER CONTESTContest~ [DELAYED indefinitely]2 years ago in Personal More Like This
This one will be a little more difficult, but we also have better prizes and a longer time.
Due to issues (one of my best friends is in the hospital, another one is DEAD, still another is severely depressed and needs consoling) the deadline has been moved to~
I honestly don't know
"Halloween Around the World"
The images must be NEW, as in, published on or after October 1, 2013.
Entries, for the most part, must be made in MMD. You can use any models, effects, backgrounds, that you please.
You MAY edit and MMD render using photo-manipulation software such as GIMP, Photoshop, Pivix, MS Paint, or other program of your choice. The important part is the base image comes from MMD.
No judges this time, just me and my opinions~ If I need a second opinion I'll ask.
I left the theme vague for a reason. That is the challenge

CONTEST - MJ Death Anniversary *UPDATED* RULESHello Army of Love!CONTEST - MJ Death Anniversary *UPDATED* RULES3 years ago in Personal More Like This
So finally, after 1 month, we reached 100 members.
Hopefully this group (army) will grow.
As you know, Michael Jackson’s Death Anniversary is close. And well, for those of you who don’t know, it’s 25th June.
Basically I don’t believe that he’s dead. And I’m sure many of you agree with me but this group is not for my personal opinions and I respect everyone’s beliefs. So we’re holding a tribute contest for 25th June.
Remember, it’s ONLY if we get enough participants.
Michael Jackson Tribute Contest (2012)
It’s a tribute contest so the theme could be ANYTHING, as long as it’s related to Michael Jackson.
If you want to submit literature, you shouldn’t upload a picture with it.

July sketchbook compilation and music for workHi!July sketchbook compilation and music for work9 months ago in Personal More Like This
July compilation is rather small. I choose only these few, plus I was very busy moving to another apartment (and I know now I will move again in near future xD)
This is how almost all of my sketchbooks look when I put them together.
Also. Can You recommend me some music while I work? I like almost all genres (rock, punk, electronic, drum n bass, dubstep, classical, orchestral, epic soundtracks...)
I love compositor Hiroyuki Sawano, who I discovered by watching Attack on Titan. But I don't want to play all over again his songs
Maybe anyone can recommend me something similar? (I didn't watch Gulity Crown, but I find this song good to listen)
Or just share Yours playlists please ^^

Photoshop Actions are the recordings of commands that can be applied to one or multiple images in Photoshop. When you press play, it applies these recorded commands. Think about changing the mood in a picture with various adjustment layers. Using an action can actually help you save a lot of time.
Which versions of Photoshop are lieveheersbeestje's actions compatible with?
All Photoshop CS versions, CS2 to CS6 Extended. My actions are not compatible with Photoshop Elements or other programs.
How can I download your exclusive actions?

Collection: Dia de Los MuertosCollection: Dia de Los Muertos6 months ago in Art Features More Like This
Dia de los Muertos
“Day of the Dead” is not the “Latin American Halloween.” On Dia de los Muertos, Mexican families visit the spirits of their dead in the cemeteries where they rest. They bring food and other gifts as part of a happy celebration of departed loved ones. Halloween originated with the fear of the sprits of the dead visiting the living so food was offered as bribery for the spirits to do no harm. It was a scary once–a–year intersection of the world of the living with the world of the dead. Day of the Dead continues to be a celebration as antidote to mourning the passing over of loved ones. It is about the ind
