Do you want to win $200,00USD?

If the answer is, "YES!" keep on reading! :D (Big Grin) After awarding a $100,00USD, $50,00USD, and $25,00USD prize in my SPRING Ca$h Prize Conte$t, I decided to up the ante, and offer a $200,00USD, $100,00USD, and a $50,00USD prize for my SUMMER Ca$h Prize Conte$t! If you would like to have the chance to win $200,00USD, $100,00USD, and/or $50,0USD please read below and get your entry in as soon as possible!

For this contest, you will be drawing a group shot of the adventurers from the end of the online novel I have written at If you read the whole story you will know the characters better, and get more references, but I have tried to give you detailed breakdowns of the characters below. (That being said, feel free to ask me questions in the comments section below.) The final battle scenes (from Chapter 30) would be great, but any group shot will be fine. All entries must be turned in by MIDNIGHT on 5 July 2014 (GMT), but please do not wait until the last minute. Many people did that in my last contest and could not make the deadline, thus missing the chance to win cash money! Crying

What the judges will be looking for..
:iconuchuubranko: "After the first flash of impressions, I study the work in detail and look out for my top 3 interests : Composition, Colours, Overall impact of image. I might either glue my head to the screen or take some distance to savor better your awesome piece. Love However, a potential winner must stand out in one or few aspects. I love colours, and I'd love to see your colours!  :P (Lick) I'm not looking especially at brightness, saturation, or whatsoever but how well your colours fit with the theme/composition and with themselves. Colour really adds to the overall effect so I might be a bit picky. I encourage originality and hard work. (colour-wise too Wink/Razz) Boogie! Heart I hope you'll have fun in this contest! La la la la I've once been told this : Do your best, be you, and surpass yourself! Hug"

:iconnyanfood: "As a judge, I am looking for:
Composition - overall use of the principles of design to assist in the representation of the idea. A good composition should keep the viewer interested and show dynamic flow of elements within the image. It should imply the elements outside of the canvas with the subjects inside the canvas. The colors should make sense with each other. The foreground, middle ground, and background should be clear and a distinct sense of priority will make it strong.

Concept - the idea of the piece. The concept should be compelling, be it complex or simple. A good concept is as relatable as it is original and at the same time intriguing. The audience should be able to interpret a meaning or invoke a feeling without much effort by looking at the piece. This is the creativity part of the piece. Is your intent being conveyed?

Craftsmanship - the image is put together in a neat manner, without glaring stray marks or half-assed areas. The intentions of the artist's marks are clearly conveyed to the audience. This does not necessarily mean cellshading or straight/pure edges. Paintings with rough brushes can have just as much good craftsmanship as a vector image. Craftsmanship is about being orderly with your style of choice.

Proportion and Perspective - Good anatomy and good perspective. Does a certain pose make sense? Are the objects in context with each other? Does the horizon line stay in the same place? Is the figure looking at something accurately without looking past it? Is that how that object really looks?

I will always try to judge within the context of your style. If I can't begin to guess what goals you were trying to achieve simply by looking at the image, chances are you won't score very well. Express yourself in an articulate manner and best of luck!"

:iconzolaida: "As a judge I am looking for a piece that, first of all, fits the theme. I am looking for a piece that holds my attention! That can be done by having interesting composition, colours, storytelling and style. I encourage to give it your all, and most of all, to enjoy what you are creating!"

:iconserafleur: "As a judge, when it comes to determining a quality art I look for a good anatomy and perspective. It's very important to make an art that has a sense of direction and flow within the piece. Next is the use of colors. It's not about having very vibrant or saturated colors but the colors that would fit the concept of your work. Also, originality and creativity is a must! And last, don't forget to have fun! :D (Big Grin)"

:iconvyndicare: "When deciding a winner I first see if your work goes with your theme. Then I get to anatomy, composition, color choice, etc. I'm also looking for more unique styles. Something that will make you turn your head and keep your attention. I really encourage creativity so I want to see something that I wouldn't have even thought of! Make your entry interesting and fun :D"

- The permission form will not appear in the calender! -

The almighty permission form:…

can be in the work. *animals and robots are ok, we are on a case by case with this rule.*

No exposed nipples that can bee seen through clothing *Bumps are fine* or excessive camel toes.

No GAJINKAS. *Human form of Pokemon, animals or anything*
Female pokemon with breasts are accepted as long as those pokemon are human type and are ALWAYS 100% female.

Attribution, No Derivative Works [HAS background]
Attribution, Share Alike [NO Background]

We can help with backgrounds. =D

DO NOT ADD TEXT. WE WILL DO THAT. unless it's your Deviantartname

Things in ( ) are suggestions not requirements

January: Happy New Year or Winter Wonderland (Fireworks / Snowy land / Rebirth / New Beginnings)
February: Valentines Day (Hearts ribbons chocolates flowers )
March: St. Patrick's Day (Green, 4 Leaf clovers, Maid costume)
April: Rainy season, life giving rain (rain jackets, umbrellas, rainbows)
May: Flowers in bloom (Bees, Birds, new life, baby animals)
June: Beach fun (Volleyball, suntanning, rollerblading)
July: Patriotic Red white & blue with Fireworks
August: Camping (Ghost stories, marshmallows, bonfires, tents)
September: Leaves changing color (Falling leaves, wind, staying in, movies, Harvest)
October: Halloween
November: Thanksgiving
December: Christmas

To invoke more of a response, I am going to be charging an extra dollar for the calendar to fund the Susan G Komen fund AKA Fight Breast Cancer fund.

The calenders cost $30.00 to make.
Because their are only 12 spots I am going to be selling the calendars for $60.00 so that way:
- each artist will receive 2$ from each sale
$2 X 12 = $24

$60 - 24 = 36

- the group will be getting 1$ *To get Super Group Status* remainder of funds beyond  Super Groups will be used for POINTS in FUTURE Contests

$36 -1 = 35

- Breast Cancer Fund will get $33.01

$35 - 33.01 = 1.99
- the publisher will be getting $1.99

So if my goal to raise 1 million dollars for Breast Cancer Research, then we would have to sell:
33.01 / 1,000,000 = 30,294 calenders

And if your an artist and your work gets chosen and we do meet our 1 million mark.
You'd make: $60,588

Witches of East End Contest

Tue Jul 15, 2014, 2:01 PM

Illustrate an Edgar Allan Poe scene, story, or element from "The Tell-Tale Heart," "The Black Cat," or "The Raven" that you would expect to see in the world of The Witches of East End. The winning work will be displayed in an episode of the series perhaps as a picture, book illustration, tarot card, or some other fanciful way chosen by the creative team of the show.

Edgar Allan Poe was a master of the mysterious and the macabre. The witches of East End would certainly indulge in the study of the master. Re-familiarize yourself with these three classic Edgar Allan Poe stories and absorb the context for the world of The Witches of East End.

Based on Melissa de la Cruz's New York Times best-selling novel, Witches of East End centers on the Beauchamp family, where in season one sisters Freya and Ingrid discovered they are witches with ancient magical powers. With the help of their mother Joanna and Aunt Wendy, they learned how to cultivate their craft and work together to defeat unearthly enemies seeking revenge on their family, while keeping their abilities a secret from the town.

This season, with the portal to Asgard open, what comes through will forever change the lives of the Beauchamps. Darkness surrounds East End as a new stranger arrives. Joanna is still weak with poison in her blood as the Beauchamps search desperately for a cure. With the death of Penelope, Killian and Dash's warlock powers return. #DarknessIsRising

Essential X-Men Contest #4!!!!

Ok, this contest is pretty straight forward...I hope to see a lot of entries!

"Choose any two X-Men characters, and create the best art that you can."

:bulletred:How this works:
The task is to create the best artwork you can using any two X-Men characters.

Some examples:

1. A typical one panel splash page/pinup design depicting the two characters.
2. An actual comic page design. NOTE: the number of panels in this option will be limited to SIX.
3. A short story, 1000 words or less.
4. A cos-play pic. This may be difficult to find another cosplayer for your second character, so feel free to use a prop (action figure, stuffie, anything) in place of a second character.
5. Or whatever you can think of.

Other considerations:

A. Be creative. A picture with any two random characters just standing around will not win over a picture of two characters interacting in a way that makes sense. Reminder to keep this G-rated please.
B. If you're doing the comic page option, you can include text/dialog, if you think it will add to your image. Please keep any dialog G-RATED.
C. No limitations as to which characters you use, just choose two.
D. As always, this contest is meant to be suitable for ALL skill-levels as much as possible. You don't necessarily have to be the most skilled artist to win. Your imagination, design and effort will play a part in the voting.

1. You must be a member. Co-founders and Contributors will be allowed to enter, but if that is the case, they cannot participate in the vote.
2. All artwork must be new specifically for this contest and be your own work.
3. Pencils, Inks, Color, Traditional, Digital - ANY/ALL art types are allowed.
4. Entries must be complete and posted in the "Contest #4" folder by January 31, 2015. You can enter only once.
5. If there is an overwhelming request to extend the date, I will consider it...but the idea is to get your first good piece of artwork done in 2015 and hopefully this contest should give you the incentive to get working!

Note: If anyone is willing to donate prizes (pts) please send me a note or comment to this blog entry.

The current prize list is as follows:

:bulletyellow:1st place
300 pts

:bulletyellow:2nd place
200 pts

:bulletyellow:3rd place
100 pts

:bulletyellow:4th place
50 pts

Good luck everyone!

PS. It really helps if I get comments/feedback on these contests, in order to better facilitate more contests in the future! Even it is it just to indicate you're going to participate.

PPS. If something isn't clear, or you have any questions, please comment here and I will answer when I can.  That way, everyone can see the question, and the answer.
