Everything was a blur, but I had apparently been dragged to the roof of the school. I gasped, someone unfamiliar was standing in front of me. "Hi... My name is Nero Akita... Sorry about that... my sister can be a total ass sometimes... she really does love her Len..." He caught his breath, it was silent for a minute.
"Umm... My name is Rin Kagamine..." Nero held his hand out. I was reluctant, but I shook it.
"I am one class next door to you and Neru." Then someone went up behind him and tickled his side. Nero laughed and looked behind him. "Hey bro! Rin, this is my buddie Kaito! Kaito, this is my newest bro Rin!"
"Hello, I am Kaito, I'm one class above you." He didn't hold his hand out, but just grabbed mine and shook it until I shook back.
"Nice to meet you... Kaito... I am Rin..." I felt my face get hot as Kaito brushed hair out of my face.

A word about haiku - MS JamesA word about haiku - by Michael JamesA word about haiku - MS James8 years ago in Academic Essays More Like This
I believe there are a few basic precepts about haiku that are largely overlooked, or just flat out just not taught in most basic literary (poetic) courses. Everyone seems to know that a haiku is supposed to be written in the structure of 5-7-5 syllables per line respectively, but there is much more going on than just a simple syllable constraint. I shall attempt to give a brief overview of the main points about haiku.
First off, the 5-7-5 syllable structure most often cited as being the sole 'structural rule' of haiku is based on the original Japanese constraint. However, the Japanese language and more specifically their word structure differ from English in a critical way when it comes to the definition of this structure. In the Japanese language, each sound unit is called an onji as opposed to our syllable. This unit of measure for a word is considerable more concise than what we use to define a syllable (typically only

give me a bit of your time
and I will tell you of days long past
for I have been here for ages
times beyond the length of man's memory
I have been here longer than you know
I was here
when everything around me was green and lush
when rains fell heavily
and the waters ran down the sides of my abode
when the great cold ice sheets were almost melted away
and man carved me as the Lion that I am
but then through time the climate changed
many of the humans moved to different places
searching for their game to hunt
and I sat and watched as the green lushness became sand
the rains no longer fell upon me
the sun's heat baked me dry
and the sands began to blow
filling my abode until I was covered
all but my lion head
so I still could see around me
I began seeing the return of man
and a building up of a culture
different than the one I knew before
cities being built
carvings on the walls
telling the great history of these
that built up a kingdom around me
great pyramids were built

I have trouble letting go.
I wouldn't try to be someone I am not,
So now I hope you know.
I'm not the girl I used to be,
I thought the darkness took over me,
But I look at you and now I see,
I never really changed.
Brake that mirror on the wall,
Fall down but I can crawl,
I'm alright after all.
Without you I can hide,
Get to see my other side,
I'm not so different after all…
I thought I knew who I was,
But I'm lost without cause,
I have no idea who I am,
And I like it that way.
I thought that I should say,
I'm not over this today,
I guess I never really changed.
Brake that mirror on the wall,
Fall down but I can crawl,
I'm alright after all.
Without you I can hide,
Get to see my other side,
I'm not so different after all…
I've been down for a while,
Forgot that I can smile,
I let go of who I was.
I'm trying to get up,
From the fall which I woke up,
I'm letting go of who I thought I was,
Of who I thought I was
Of who I thought I was…

my heart that has beat since my birth
will still and turn cold
my blood will stop and congeal into hardness
my breath will no longer enter my lungs
and the lungs will wilt like empty sacks
my body will die and cease to be
I accept this with the knowledge
of it's one day occuring
it is unstoppable
But yet I often feel
as if I have lived before
that I have experienced my own death
many times before
being different people then
with different thoughts and fears
loves now forgotten
pains gone into the abyss
joys now being payed for
Was it not I that stood there
shoulder to shoulder with the Gauls
looking down on Caesar and his legions
over the bodies of our women and children
knowing the futility of our actions
but hating the eventual end
and I can still feel the rush
as I ran through the dense forest
looking for a Roman to feed my axe
and then helping to pike the heads
of those that fell amid the trees of Teutoburg
and yet I feel the war

There is this illusion,
That being "bi" is cool.
Jumping to a conclusion
About me is just cruel.
I didn't dream this up.
I'm not playing pretend.
If you call me a slut,
It's your moral sin.
I'm not bisexual
Just because I'm greedy.
It's been perpetual
I'm ostracized by Straights
For being perverted.
Shut out by Lesbians
For being diverted.

And claim to love women.
You have to take a stand.
Make a choice. Us or Them?"
There's no way to explain
Why I'm bisexual,
But the title is stained
When deemed conceptual.
I'm faced with the same fears
As so many others:
It took me twenty-four years
To tell my own mother.
Disillusions and lies:

like the sweetest perfume
intoxicating me to follow
your smell through the room
pushing through the throng
uttering growls of irritation
until I am with you
and I reach out for you
taking you into my hand
I feel your heat
and it sooths me
I hold you against my chest
hugging your goodness
my thankfulness is aroused
I love you so very much
your color and your smell
the heat that you put off
as I prepare to take you
into my mouth to taste
oh yes so very wonderful
you are just as I thought
you couldn't be any better
I couldn't live with out you
you are my coffee

An Introduction to Haiku Structures
A haiku poem cannot be defined according to the number of syllables and lines it contains (nor by the number of syllables in each line). Although I do not wish to go into the reasons why at this point (I will save that for a later discussion) the form of modern English haiku, as Haruo Shirane writes, is a short poem, usually written in one to three lines. (in Gilbert, 2009) At this point our definition sounds very vague. If the number of syllables and lines do not define a haiku poem, then what does? And if a haiku poem is simply a short one, two or three-line poem then what separates it from other forms of Western short-verse or, in the case of one-line haiku, a sentence?
Patricia Donegan writes, in agreement with the Western haiku community at large, that syllable counting... is not the important thing for haiku in English. Haiku is an experience, not an act of co

"Great that's just great," sighed Sam. He sank onto the cluttered bench in his garage, running a frustrated hand through his hair as he stared out across the rain-drenched yard. It's probably full of sand from that storm in the desert a few weeks ago I don't want you getting all dirty again right after I paid good money to have you cleaned up."
Sitting on the floor beside him, hunched over but still filling most of the garage nonetheless, Bumblebee gave a dry whining sound through his semi-functional vocal processors. In all honesty, he couldn't care less about the weather his friend's well-being and happiness took priority over all else. He watched Sam glower out at the downpour, studying the human's disheartened posture in concern.
