a gentle voice in my soul
now Persephone rises.
Flowers bloom again
beneath fingers of the rain
feel the vibrations of life.
fairi find beauty in our awkwardness, in the way we are pushed together all-too-unoften. fate just isn't fair to us. it's not the story of star-crossed lovers destined to be together. to hell with fate; to destiny - they're selective bitches anyway. they only choose the perfect ones. your smile is crooked with all the times you've had to take it down and then hurriedly put it up again; an overused, bruised sign that says 'drop it. please just drop it.'
[if only they'd bother to look.]
and dark rings curl themselves around my eyes at the most inopportune moments - i wish you wouldn't witness just how tired i am.
i find beauty in our awkwardness.
in the way we spend the quiet fidgeting and shooting nervous glances; handing each other our nervous laughs. the way we are almost from different universes, but it's the same ungainly silence that defines us.
and if that's what it takes -
i swear i'll never say a word again.
My final goodbyesMy final goodbyes :My final goodbyes6 years ago in Urban & Spoken Word More Like This
One hand on the rope the other holding a pen
One hand tying the knot the other signing my final goodbye's
One foot on the floor on foot on the chair
2 hands holding up the rope 2 feet on the chair
1 man putting the rope round his neck 2 eyes staring into the night
2 eyes staring into the night 2 eyes staring back?
You wonder and wonder whom they belong to
And before you know it 2 arms grasp your waist
You try to look round but the rope forces you forward
A soft sweet voice from behind whispers in tears "fool"
She keeps whispering that 1 word and you know you're wrong
she unties the knot and looks at you she cries and cries she won't stop crying
you try to apologize for doing what you did and she punches you in the face
"Selfish bastard" she whispers
"what would I have done" she whispers
"To whom would I have gone" she whispers
"you bastard you bastard you bastard" she whispers for a while
"Please don't just don't leave me alone" she whispers in a guilty tone
