If you enjoy perusing stamps/emoticons, then you've probably come across those real, tiny jewels every now and
then. Sometimes you wonder how the artist got it to look so perfect on such a small canvas. Sometimes you stew
in jealousy and wonder when you'll get to that level. But it still invokes an emotion in you that makes you want
to add the stamp to your favorites straight away.
Here at Stamp-Heaven, we've decided to begin conducting monthly features. All submissions that have been
accepted during the current 28-31 day period are reviewed, and us staff select which ones we think deserve
a mention in our journal section. Congratulations to all the stamp and emoticon owners who have
their artwork featured here!

I'm a perfectionist, I know, it doesn't look like it, my art is scribbles, fast hack and slash and throw it out there. That's because I'm afraid, yep back to that old fear thing. See, I've /always/ been good at stuff naturally, I've never had to work at anything, if it was something that required practise, I'd be practising because I enjoyed it, but I would have started out with the feeling I /could do this thing/.
Things I felt like I couldn't do.. I just wouldn't do.. but as a kid, I was filled with brimming self confidence that I could be good at /anything/.. and generally, I was.. probably because I approached it with a 'can do' attitude. I remember when at primary school a group of us decided we would learn to walk on our hands.. it took /hours/.. days, WEEKS of us
On Graduating-Hey guys, I know for a lot of you graduation is coming up super fast, and it seems completely absurd that it's been almost a year ago since I was in that boat. I well remember the two options presented to me:On Graduating-4 years ago in Personal More Like This
1) Get a studio job. Preferably close to home.
2) Move back in with my parents. Possibly get a day job or something.
I just wanted to remind ...whoever is reading this... that there are about a gazillion alternatives. In fact, any possible train of actions you can conceive of is an option. It's hard to think of options not presented to you as options, but you really can go anywhere and do anything. This is the only time in our lives when we don't have any greater obligations- we don't have a wife and kids to provide for, no company that would collapse without us, our bodies can handle sleeping on a springy old couch for a while. This is EXACTLY when you should take a gigantic risk because the only thing y

1. Hello! For the beginning, could you tell us something about yourself?
Hello! My name is Šárka, pronnounced Sharkah. I’m a 20 years old student of biology at Charles university in Prague. I come from the south of Czech Republic (the country with beer) , from beautiful South Moravia (the region of wine). I have a tarantula called Ungoliant and I love everything related to J.R.R.Tolkien.
2. When did you read Tolkien's books for the first time, and what impression did they leave in you?

1. Hello! For the beginning, could you tell us something about yourself?
Hi everybody! What to say... I am homebody that draws things for a hobby, and doesn't have nearly enough time to do so as much as she'd like. I am a student (though not for long) and like to let my mind wander with Tolkien (and others) when number crunching gets to be too much. I'm Catalan, female and study chemistry and engineering.
Microsoft Surface Pro Hands-On + Thoughts for ArtThe local Boston Microsoft store has the Surface Pro on display, and I got a good solid 30+ minutes to play with it.Microsoft Surface Pro Hands-On + Thoughts for Art3 years ago in Personal More Like This
The Pro is definitely thicker than the Surface RT and even the iPad 1, but it's not to the point of feeling unattractive -- if anything it improves handling a little bit because it makes it nearer to the thickness of something like a book. I had no problem gripping the drive in portrait mode one-handed. (Being a widescreen device, it can get a little uncomfortable in landscape mode, but only if gripped from the sides. Top or bottom is just fine. Two handed is no problem at all.) The great thing about the Microsoft store is that they don't tether their devices down, so you can unplug it, pick it up, move around with it, really get a feel. That said, the weight, at 2 lbs, is no issue to me either. I have big hands, and I'm used to picking up heavy stuff for long periods of time (groceries etc) so I can't speak for everyone on that -- but if I owned the Pro, I'd have no qua

Without my mother, there wouldn't be an artist named Zelda C. Wang
She is everything to me. Recently she has been diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer and several other health problems. It's overwhelming and highly stressful for her, yet instead of concerning about her health, she worries about the medical expense more...
My mother raised three kids by herself, but never complained about her

Happiness aside though, I'm still having somewhat of an inner war with myself. This semester has been sucking the life out of me. It's gotten so bad that when I have these more than frequent lows with myself, I can't enjoy doing art, or just any
