“Silver, why don’t you ask Nebula to help you? I mean, she is a half vampire and all” Sonic said.
“I don’t know. I don’t want to hurt innocent animals at night time” Silver sighs.
“Meow” Snow purred on his arm.
He couldn't help but smile at her.
“Hello” Shadow hanging upside down from the ceiling.
“Hi” Silver said calmly.
"Why didn't that scare you?" Shadow asked.
“Vampire senses, duh” Silver rolled his eyes, “Now come down from the ceiling before you get a headache”
Shadow floated down.
“Well, Silver?” Sonic waiting for his answer.
“Fine, I’ll go. But you better take good care of my cat Snow when I’m out” Silver said.
"Okay" Sonic and Shadow said.
“Good. I’ll see you later, Snow” Silver patted her head and left the house to go find Nebula.
Nebula was in the tree drawing in her sketch wh

Mephiles was gazing out the window of Rouges house, amusing himself by trying count how many birds hung around on the telephone wires. Every time he got to what he thought would be the last number more birds would come, and several would leave in a flurry of feathers, causing him to lose track of his number, and have to restart again.
It had been several months since Mephiles had tried to gain possession of a Chaos Emerald to further help his plans to cast this world in to a land of fire and darkness, hoping that the silver hedgehog he had convinced to try to kill the blue hedgehog known as Sonic the Hedgehog, to cause his own human sister, Princess Elise of Soleanna, to shed a tear or two, and release the seal that kept his fiery brother, Iblis, locked away from the world, and inside the Princess.
After he did get his hands on an Emerald, he was promptly beaten into submission by Shadow the Hedgehog, who was not related to the blue hedgehog, but bor

Mephiles coughed and sputtered, now retching roughly as he held the trashcan in his hands and waited for his upset stomach to calm down before he dared to even start talking. He felt as if he could have died from the embarrassment of this.
He felt someone rub his back to help him feel better, and, again, was amazed at how simple contact between two beings can effect both emotions and sensations in the most positive of ways.
When he was sure his stomach was now empty, Mephiles lifted his head up wearily and wiped his mouth on the back of his hand, knowing that his face had probably darkened a couple of shades of pink, as this situation felt extremely awkward, he was sure he was visibly distressed. His body shook with a cold chill that slipped up and down his spine, the sensations of cold spreading quickly from there to his fingertips, making him close his eyes as he shivered and groaned, the foul taste of vomit nastily coating his tongue as his remaining tears slid down his face.
+Story Trade+ SneakyIt was calm, peaceful and quiet. Just the way Zeth, or as others called him "Z", liked it. Outside his house, Z sat on the green grass, near an oak tree, with his eyes shut softly. A cool, gentle breeze softly blew through the tree, leaves calmly rattled. Meditating was very relaxing for him. This was probably the only thing he could do to temporarily escape reality.+Story Trade+ Sneaky3 years ago in Short Stories More Like This
Suddenly, Z heard some soft thuds behind him. His eyes calmly opened up, revealing ruby red eyes. He turned to look over his shoulder, but saw nobody there. He knew somebody was here though. With a grunt, Z stood up. He shifted his eyes from side to side, searching for the intruder.
Suddenly, Z swore he heard somebody laugh. This laugh was very familiar to him. He immediately knew who it was.
"Come out now, Axel," Z commanded, shutting his eyes and sighed. The chuckling ceased. Axel knew he was caught. The white armadillo popped out from behind a tree and looked at Z, with a smile on his face.

To say that something dramatic happened in the next few hours could be an understatement to most people, but to Mephiles and Rouge, it was about the most spectacular thing to them in a long time.
They heard a soft grunt from Shadow and he opened his eyes slowly, lifting his hand up to shield them from the light of the florescent light bulbs above him, which had been kept on because Mephiles didnt feel like falling asleep after what had happened in his mind.
Immediately, the crystal hedgehog wiped his eyes dry quickly and slid off the bed he was sitting on and hurried over to his friends bedside, so happy and relieved that he thought he was going to cry again.
Shadow! Mephiles and Rouge both exclaimed happily. Oh, thank God!
God, that hurt I slammed my head against the door Shadow had his hand on his forehead. So, what happened exactly and why am I the one in the hospital bed? Wasnt it Meph who fainted? Shadow

Sonic woke up. The sentence alone was something for him to be grateful for. He only felt an echo of the pain he felt while Super kept him trapped for hours in his own mind, but it was still enough to make him feel miserable. He rolled onto his side with a whimper of pain and pulled the covers over his head. He didn't want to get up. He didn't want to move. He just wanted to ignore the sunlight filtering through his window and the faint chatter coming from the living room, and get some real sleep. But he was in to much pain to relax to go to sleep. So he just laid there, unable to find the will or motivation to get up. He didn't bother to wipe the tear streaks away, or to check how bad the wounds looked now. He lay there and closed his eyes.
Footsteps went unnoticed by him and the door opened quietly.
"Hey Sonic, aren't you going to get up?" Tails' question went unanswered. Confused, he entered the room an

They arrived just as soon as the Phoenix left to perch above the temple entrance.
Tails' heart sank in disappointment as he was quick to apologize to Sonic.
"I'm so sorry for being late, Sonic!" He explained, still toting the sleepy crystal hedgehog on his back. "But we got in a bad spot, and he fell asleep after exhausting himself, and I had to carry him!"
Sonic shrugged it off and wasn't really too concerned over the matter.
"You really didn't miss much." He explained as Chip hovered over to the younger hedgehog curiously, poking him in the face carefully, and only getting a snort as a response. "Threw a few barrels of water and knocked some sense into him, really. I would have rather been pitted against those other creatures, anyway..."
"... Yeah, but I wanted to at least watch you do this one..." Tails grumbled, feeling like he missed the best part.
"I'm sure there'll be a few more before the whole adventure's over." Sonic reassured, seeing that the young fox was bummed

The following morning however, Mephiles felt sick.
His head was hurting, which in turn was making his stomach feel bad.
You have a bit of a fever right now Rouge informed him as she placed a hand on his forehead, Mephiles flinching a bit. Its a good thing that today is your off day
I didnt want to have to spend it like this Mephiles frowned, shaking his head slowly. Is it just me or do I seem to get sick a lot..?
Not nearly as much as when you first came to live with us Shadow pointed out, nearly snickering. Yipes, the first few months it seemed like you were sick every other week
I was if I recall correctly Mephiles said, raising an eyebrow.
Either way Shadow said. You should probably rest for the day. Youve nearly burnt yourself out with all of this.
Maybe I should Meph

Shadow woke up to a prodding the following morning. Lifting his head up, he saw Mephiles level with him, a frantic look on his face.
Whatever it is, Im sure it can wait Shadow pulled the blanket over his head, having seen that it was only seven in the morning.
Mephiles prodded him even harder, this time whimpering.
Its Krystal and Sharpe! Theres this cocoon thing around them! Mephiles half yelled, surprising his voice cracking just enough to notice. Whats going on with them!?
Shadow lifted his head from the pillow on the floor again and said: Nothings wrong theyre evolving as in getting older what ever alliance they become after its over means if you either treated them right, are on the good side, balanced good and evil equally, or if you did neither He put his head back down and pulled the blanket over his head again.

Mephiles stared into the mirror intently, taking in his appearance. Nothing out of the ordinary for him it was always the same
Examining his eyes, he took note of how he hated how they had become. They were mere pale likenesses of the eyes of that demon that resided in him Dull and pale tired and weak
He was nothing at all like his former self. A shadow really he was a shadow just like the shadow he was when he was created the old him

Dark Tell me Mephiles murmured, shaking his head slowly, never taking his eyes off his reflection. He felt a surge of hatred run through him at the thought of his doppelganger. He clenched his teeth together so tightly, that his jaw was beginning to hurt. He had given Dark his name almost automatically, as if he was meant to all him that. Why do you exist..? How did you come to be..? And why me..

There was a marathon of Monster Quest on the History channel.
After wondering briefly just how the program didnt end up on Sci Fi, Mephiles decided to watch it anyway. The current subject was Chupacabras.
Getting too far into it, he hadnt noticed that Shadow had made his way into the living room a little later.
Needless to say, upon barely noticing, Mephiles screeched loudly and threw whatever he had in his hands at the ebony hedgehog, which was the remote control. This was done simply on instinct.
After both Shadow and the remote hit the ground, Mephiles finally regained his composure and stared in shock at he had caused.
After a few minutes, he blinked and broke free from his astonishment, then yelped out an apology as Shadow sat up, holding his hand to his head, teeth clenched together.
What was that for?
Im sorry! I was just- There was- History- Chupa-thingies! Mephiles tried to explain, but could only stammer

No one could determine how long Mephiles had been running in circles around the Tornado, shouting in fright and waving his arms around. In fact, it was amazing that an often tired looking hedgehog could have that much energy to begin with. There wasn't even a waver in the tone his voice, save for it possibly getting hoarse from so much yelling.
"... See? This is why I didn't want people to see me like this." Sonic looked away awkwardly. "His reaction is probably the worst..."
"Don't look too much into it." Tails said. "From what Shadow and Rouge told me, he's very easy to scare, since he's afraid of everything short of bunnies... Not literally, but just about."
"When did you talk with Shadow and Rouge..?"
"He called them on a payphone to let them know he was okay." Tails explained. "I've never heard Shadow and Rouge sound so... Parent-like."
Sonic snorted, shaking his shaggy blue head with amusement.
"They both work together, and live at the same house. If they've been looking af

"I said no..." Dark was being stubborn now. He dropped himself to the floor and folded his arms. He intended to let himself be a dead weight and not go an inch further.
He had agreed to having an early checkup, yes... but he did not once agree that he was going to allow for an MRI.
"I will not allow it. You just want to-"
"Dark! This is the best way to check for anything internally!" Mephiles tried to reason. "Even things you can't even feel. We're just-"
"Oh, I know just what's going to happen. You'll see just how much of my brain is in use, then deem it a medical marvel and then try to keep me here!" Dark glared, trying to scare everyone back.
To be quite honest, that was not what Dark thought at all. He just assumed they would think that. He was just running with it because he didn't want to address something that he found to be a bit of a problem to him.
Did you know that Dark was actually claustrophobic to some degree? The decade i

"Dark. Get over here. Now."
"Dark, no... you don't have to listen to him..." Mephiles caught him by the arm as soon as Dark reacted automatically, having not realized what he was doing. He blinked and looked at Mephiles, mentally grateful that Mephiles caught him. "He can't tell you what to do..."
"But..." Dark started to protest feebly.
"Oh, c'mon... you're Dark." Mephiles tried reminding him with an encouraging tone. "You used to never let anyone tell you what to do. You could do whatever you wanted. Don't tell me you forgot about that, did you?"
"Key words being 'used to'..." Dark shook his head and closed his eyes for a moment. "... I'm not even sure what I am now... much less who..."
"You're Dark. That's all you need to know, right? You are you. No one will tell you otherwise..."
"Dark, I am losing my patience..." Iblis said edgily, folding his arms, and baring his teeth. "Who are you going to listen to? Him, or me?"
Dark looked at them bo

Thanks to Mephiles ability to heal at an accelerated rate, it was was obvious that his concussion was now nothing more than a sore spot on the side of his head, which was illustrated by a short and somewhat loud declaration of pain when he pulled his fingers back after touching the bruise.
Turning his attention back to the sight he saw before him, Dark was now sorting the remaining pieces in piles of similar sizes, colors, and functions as he ran off a list of other ideas in rapid succession, hardly pausing for a breath.
"A car? A bike? A boat? A plane? A frame? Windmill? Tower? Tall tower? With floors and windows? Wheel... pulley with tires... is there any yarn?"
"What?" Mephiles was still stuck on "windmill" while trying to decode what Dark had been saying.
"Yarn. Or string... large rubber band even. See the wheels?" Dark grabbed a couple handfuls of them and held them up, keeping a constant pattern to the speed of his speech. "Take the tires off and you have the rim

It was probably two in the morning until at least Dark fell asleep. That made Mephiles a bit relieved, as he was silently worried that staying up so late right at this time would affect Dark as far as the problem went.
He had a bit of an idea as to why Dark probably felt more comfortable on his side, even. Instinct probably prevented him from laying on his back, as common with many creatures (their front having many vulnerable areas, like belly, chest and throat...), and he was probably worried that sleeping on his front would trigger another bad memory, now that he was aware of a fraction of what happened...
Mephiles couldn't help but smile a little at what he ended up with: something that would make even a cat jealous. Arms drawn close, shielding his front and face, hands curled slightly and palms inward, and the rest of the body curled in something resembling a fetal position.
He looked quite content, even. Perhaps he wasn't going to have nightmares for the rest of the night..?

"Mephiles! Snap out of it! This is no time to be spacing out!" Shadow shouted, seeing that Mephiles had yet to really move.
Mephiles shuddered and took a step back, shaking his head slowly.
"... Not supposed to happen... H-he was supposed to be in the room... he's hurt... it's my fault... it's my f-fault..." Mephiles brought his hands to his head and gripped behind the ears.
"Meph! This is not the time to be freaking out!" Shadow snapped, trying to keep Mephiles focused.
"... I c-can't hear him..." Mephiles said slowly, staring at Dark from the top of the stairs. "... S-something's wrong... I'm not g-getting anything from him... he must have h-hit his head..."
"Whatever it is, it's going to get worse if we don't do anything." Shadow reasoned. "I need you to stay focused and get help... Mephiles?" Said hedgehog had yet to move. "Alright, how about you stay here with him, and I get help? Can you do that?"
"... I can't hear him... he's blank..."

Fiona Fox was sitting at the dinning room table inside Scourge's castle. The members of Destructix sat around the table every now and then they shot annoyed looks at the door lead to the Throne Room. Fiona was tapping her fingers on the table thinking to her self about how she annoy it was that Scourge claimed to be the leader yet Fiona did all the work. Hell she was always the one doing all the work. Why was it that she always had to clean up his mess? For that matter where had her life gone so very wrong?
"Ok boys he's not showing up today." Fiona said with a sigh and rubbed her forehead.
