Fantastic Stock and Where To Find It - Feature 24I've been making a collection of some of the brilliant stock artistsFantastic Stock and Where To Find It - Feature 242 years ago in Art Features More Like This
works that I have come across. It started off as stock I can't provide
myself so I look for other peoples so I can suggest them. The way I
choose is quite odd, when I see a stock image I have an instant image in
my head of what I could do or create out of that piece of stock. The
image also has to be crystal clear and easily altered.
Anyway, Check them out, I'm sure you'll agree, just click on their deviation.

You don't need me to email prints-permissions anymore! For prints outside of DA, please ask first. And read my FAQs for other important info.
Q: Can I make a print/t-shirt/mousepad/dartboard using your stock?
A: Yes, absolutely. You no longer need my individual permission. I have given all DeviantArtists permission to use my stock in any and all DA prints.
Once you have created an piece of art using my stock (and I don't mean just changing the tones or adding a filter) that image is YOUR original artwork. "I hereby grant all DeviantArtists permission to use my stock in any and all Deviant Prints without restriction."
You may use these images as you see fit except as follows:
- None of the images in the collection will EVER be used on a site that has PORNOGRAPHY of any sort, content or advertising. My work is art, not pornography and this can reflect poorly on the models I use and my own work. If you are caught you will be banned permanently without warning.
- If you violate any of these rules or violate any of my copyrights you are prohibited entirely, forever, from using any of my stock in any way, shape, or form - commercially or otherwise.
- Do not simply upload them to a pay site. These images are for photo compositors and artists; they are not to be used as content in and of themselves.
- You may use the stock images commercially and outside of DA. Please link me your use and please keep it tasteful. Do not defame or insult the models in your

1. Please link back to FantasyStock. :faq81:
2. Please send a link to your artwork in a note to me.
3. Please send a link to your print/commercial use or reproduction as soon it is up for sale at dA. I usually add your prints to my wishlist!
1. I ask for a link back in the description of each deviation that has been created with even one small element of my stockart. (That's what that faq link is doing up there; see above. It will tell you how to make links on dA.) If you showcase your work on another website, please add a link to my main page here at dA on the same web page where you display your art. I think that's fair.
2. If you used my stockart, I want to see it! Notes are usually the fastest way yo get my attention.

From natural disasters to historical celebrations, entertainment milestones to tearful goodbyes, our community spoke out like no other community can — artistically, creatively, and emotionally. In many ways, last year marked the final chapter of a few eras, opening the door to new beginnings for 2012. Stock Usage GuidelinesBasically, both myself and Nasrin fail at regular DeviantArt checking, so we'd like to make using our stock as easy and clear cut as possible.Stock Usage Guidelines5 years ago in Personal More Like This
First off; "We give all DeviantArt users permission to use our stock in any and all Deviant Prints without restriction."
The conditions we place on the use of our stock are:
1) Please credit us appropriately, with a link back to the stock used, or our main page, if published online. If it is not online, please credit however possible - nothing big, just enough to acknowledge the contribution our work has made.
2) Please send us a link to your Deviation/work so we can see what you've created - either in the comments to the stock photo itself (we may see this) or via Notes (we will definitely see this...eventually).
1) You have our permission to repost works derived from our stock on art and social sites (i.e. RedBubble, Renderosity, personal websites, contests, etc) - we ask only that you still follow the two conditions abov
GiveawayI dont pay a massive amount of attention to just how many DAwatchers I have, and when I did actually check Id hit 600 (well, 601 presently). Im amazed, and really happy. Some of you have been with me since I first joined DA and embarked on learning to paint, and to you guys I cant thank you enough. Your support has meant the world to me, and I only hope I can give back for that in some way. Others of you are new, but no less cherished. The fact that anyone would take the time to look at my art is something I appreciate greatly and something I didnt really expect when I started sharing my art at all.Giveaway9 months ago in Personal More Like This
So, in light of that Id like to do something for you guys. Lots of you have OC's, Theyre awesome and I always look forward to seeing them pop up in my watchlist. For some of you theyre characters you have created within fandoms. Others breathe them to life within entire literary worlds they have created. Either way theyre yours, theyre unique, and theyre wonderful.

Stock - Rules - Edits! Please Read!Hey everyone!Stock - Rules - Edits! Please Read!7 years ago in Personal More Like This
I know I have my simply rules pretty much everywhere, but these are my actual little list of rules;
You must credit me when you use my stock, I would much rather my icon but my Dev link is fine. To credit me, simply copy & paste one of the following; :devGracies-Stock: OR :iconGracies-Stock:
You must let me know when you've used my stock, even WIP's, Scraps and Details, you can note them to me or leave a comment on the photo/s you used. I prefer the second, because then I know exactly what's been used
Stocks of my younger brother, puppies & my engagement ring can not be used in anything scary nor can they show the first two hurt in anyway. And also if you use a photo of my brother, I always show my Mum, so NO nudity please.. If you like, you can note her a link as she loves to see them; MumB
My stocks CAN be used in DA prints, just PLEASE always note me
Stock rulesOkay, time for some rules.Stock rules5 years ago in Personal More Like This
You may use my stock for your artwork under the following conditions:
You link to my stock in your description.
You comment on the stock pictures you used and insert a link to your work. (I really wanna see it!)
Commercial use is generally no problem, but needs my express permission
Use outside of dA is also no problem, but needs my express permission, too. (I'm picky, aren't I?)
If you want to offer a print using my stock, you need - guess what - my express permission.
You don't have to fav the stock in question, but it would be nice.
If you have any further questions, just ask. I will answer. Promise!
I don't allow nude art, or art with political content. In other words, I do not lend my pictures to Nazis,
perverts or any other kind of extremist. If your gallery and/or favorites are full of tits, swastikas or other crap like

PE: Contest PointersContest PointersPE: Contest Pointers2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Contests are everywhere on deviantART, and it seems like there are dozens of new ones cropping up every few weeks. While some of these contests go on to become extremely popular and successful, racking up hundreds of points in prizes and gaining a remarkable number of entries (), some of them flop, flounder, and sadly disappear into obscurity ()
So how does one go about hosting a successful contest? There's no fool-proof, super secret formula, of course, but there are some general tips and guidelines for what you can keep in mind when planning a new contest.
Every contest has a theme, which can range from being very specific to very general depending on what sort of contest you want to hold. Keep in mind what your theme will affect how many people will participate in your contest. A broad theme that anyone can relate to will probably generate more interest than a more specific one that limits the number of

Instagram Can Sell Your Photos Without Paying YouEDIT 19/12/12: Instagram has responded.Instagram Can Sell Your Photos Without Paying You2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Though the language they use seems to want to overly passify rather than address issues. "Your photos are your photos and we respect that." is a nice sentiment but does not necessarily exclude "we have the right to license and use your stuff even though you own the content" By signing up to instagram you are giving them permission to do this even though you do technically own the content you are submitting.
I'm not going to flail my arms about doom, but I will say, artists be aware. Not just about this, but about any contracts you sign. There is some real sketchy language in the fine print here that needs to be clarified or changed as of right now. More than just an "everything's fine, don't worry" letter. Company lawyers have a tendency to try to take the largest chunk of whatever they can, and only back off when their actions are made public and they ar

My drawing is slanted, angled, crooked, skewed!Skewing is a very common issue for artists. When we draw faces or people, one eye might be too high or maybe we unintentionally draw every character leaning to the right. These little inaccuracies may be a result of the angle of our drawing surface, paper angle, our head tilt, wrist movement or some combination of these factors and others. During the drawing process, our mind grows accustomed to a slightly odd angle here or there, and we may be oblivious to the fact that the drawing leans one way or the other. Often, facial proportions are asymmetrical. My drawing is slanted, angled, crooked, skewed!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
There are some simple methods to correct this habit. When working digitally, flip your image horizontally from time to time to help yourself observe the shapes from a fresh perspective and fix them. When working traditionally, occasionally view your work reflected in a mirror or hold it (with the image facing away from you) in front of a light source so that you can see the reversed image.
Another technique is to draw a line or plane fr

She has really amazing stock (you should check out her art site too, she's an amazing photo manipulator).
As a first note, DO NOT post any of my pictures on facebook, myspace, twitter, or any other similar sites in their original (unedited) form, ever.
1. You MUST inform me of when you have used my stock. I like seeing what everyone has made! You do not need to ask to use it beforehand, but you do NEED to tell me afterward.
2. Cite this site (http://sitara-leotastock.deviantart.com/), or the particular picture you used, in the description of your picture.
3. No using models for anything sexually inappropriate or mature.
4. Do not portray any of the models as something excessively monstrous, demonic, gory, gruesome, etc. Macabre and horror themes are allowed and appreciated, but as stated before, not if they are excessively gruesome.
5. No works depicting models as
