Welcome back to Nostalgiaviews, where all our collective childhoods come to bite us back in the asses.
I did a poll on my Deviantart site last year asking my readers if I should review "My Little Pony: Equestria Girls," to my surprise, and relief, many of my fine readers said no. This is a genuine shock to me; the last time I did a poll, it ended up in a landslide that had me review "Troll 2" back in 2011, I guess my readers really wanted to see me in pain back then. However, this was a case where it took a tiebreaker to decide if I was to review "Equestria Girls" or Disney's "Hercules," the majority ruled for Disney, so, that's what we have today folks. But, before we do, pull out your notebooks kids, it's time for me to exposit information you either do or don't care to read. If you do, who knows, you might just learn something...
It's the late 1990's, The Walt Disney Studios is in a bit of rut. After pulling themselves out of the creative slump that

You know, I actually feel really stupid for all the nitpicking I gave to the movie's historical aspect in the last part.
I realized only too late that mythology often isn't one that is required to give an exact date. People created myths to try and make sense of the world, using real life trials to translate into metaphorical monsters and gods to explain elements in the world to make sense of them. The Hydra Heracles battles?
A representation of mankind's lust, no matter how many times you try to cut ties with it, more will always grow in it's place.
Even the idea of a demigod was created to invoke a personal connection between mortals and the gods. If you think this idea has passed away with ancient cultures, take a hard look at our modern religions that people still worship today, if you think about it, major religions follow the same concept; a demigod that was conceived by an deity brings balance to the world in some way or another (except Buddhism as they follow the idea that desi
Letters from LeGume (Contest Entry)Author's note: These are letters from Gaston to Drizella Trémaine (I have chosen to use Drizzie's French name, Javotte, here.)Letters from LeGume (Contest Entry)11 months ago in Humor More Like This
Ma chère Mademoiselle de Trémaine,
I hope this letter finds you well! We have had our first snow down here, but the cold hasn’t quite set in yet. How is the weather in Paris this time of year?
I have been able to write a little more each day, and my hands are getting stronger. Mrs Potts lets me walk all the way to the garden now. Of course, I’ll always have a limp, but it really is a miracle that I can walk again anyway, after that fall. Chip has kept up with our lessons, and says he will make a decent calligrapher out of me yet. (I am not so sure.) Please excuse the wobbliness of my handwriting. I have gotten sadly out of practice.
We are halfway through Androcles and the Lion now, Chip and I. I think you would love the story, Javotte. It does have a lion in it, of course, but he’s as gentle as a lamb

Chapter Four: We Won't Say
"I'm home," Eris smiled and appeared out from the shadow. They pets swam to her except for one. "Where's Cetus?"
There was silence as the Goddess quickly moved away from her pets and saw him, breathing heavily as his stars were dying out. So this was time for him, she thought, already time? "Cetus " She held him up; his stars were fading too quickly, "My lovely Cetus. It's been a pleasure to have you here." The Goddess bite her tear down, "Goodbye, sleep well."
The creature looked up at her and moved closer, Eris smiled and hugged her minion. The feeling of Cetus soon faded away as the other came close to comfort them. It was true, Cetus had been dying for a while, but she didn't except him to die now. Eris looked down at the emptiness that was Cetus remaining. She sighed and walked to the globe.
"Nothing ever last forever," she took a closer look to Earth, "not even you. Soon, my peaceful world is going to be mine and mine only full o

Alice opened her mouth a few times, but then closed it every time with a new expression of thoughtful consideration on the matter. The Hatter, for his part, seemed to have broken his eyebrows, for they were stuck in the up position and made him look like he had just heard a word that couldn't be spoken or a color that couldn't be seen, as if he couldn't process its fleeting nature. His left hand crossed over was a dead weight in her lap, and she had forgotten she was holding onto it with both of hers when he suddenly spoke, though it was very soft, and Alice started when he did.AlicexHatter Short Story 16 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

"This mythical woman you speak of." He did not reply to this. "A pale, mincing little creature, with stars in her eyes and naught but pure innocence in her heart, going through the world viewing man as some great distant hero come to save her when she's out walking too far, overly critical, forever shrilly correcting other people's manners, who thinks

"When manipulating the weather you have to keep tight control on the flow of your magic. Release too much as you could end up with an energy surge and end up doing something you didn't intend," Master Howl explained, leaning back on his elbows. He and Markl were reclining on a blanket in the sunshine beside Star Lake, having their magic lesson outside.
Sophie was flitting in and out of the Castle with baskets of clothes, humming happily to herself. She had only been with them a few weeks, but already Markl didn't know how they had coped without her. It was certainly nice to have clean clothes all of the time.
"Because weather is a universal occurrence you have to keep your magic focused on a single area, preferably wherever you are at that moment," Howl continued. "Its far more difficult to try and change the weather on the other side of the country, and, let's face it, what would be the point?"
Markl frowned at Sophie, only half listening to his Master's

The captain stepped out of the bislug-drawn carriage and squinted in the early evening light. It always took him a few hours to get used to sunlight after months in space. Paying the driver, picking up his one suitcase and slinging his captain's uniform over his left shoulder, he looked up at the two-story country house. It was situated in the middle-class district on the crescent of the Haniput Space Port, where the Interstellar Academy was located. Though he knew more people on other planets, he and his wife had decided not to move far after getting married. He grinned and his heart skipped a beat at the thought of his wife.
Young and reckless, their relationship had had a rocky start to say the least, but they had sacrificed much for each other, and he had grown to love her more than his own life. Every day of his deployment out among the stars, he could only wonder if she were looking at those same stars, if she was as lonely, t

Except that old reclusive mind,
You are yours and I am mine.
Such is creation's sole design
Give mankind sight but render blind,
Nothing in life is ever thine.
Solitary is every shrine
In which existence is confined,
You are yours and I am mine.
Lonely are they who walk the line
And yet they know it is defined:
Nothing in life is ever thine.
Aloof the jackal sits to dine
And prey, in prayer does remind:
You are yours and I am mine.
As though birth and death lent no sign,
It takes man all his days to find
Nothing in life is ever thine,
You are yours and I am mine.

EM100TC 2. LoveThe fangirls had all left and the members were cleaning up the club room. Nipah was mopping up the bloody and tea stained floor when he slipped on the water. Eyes widening, he braced himself for an impact against the marble floor when he felt warm arms wrap around him. A deep voice purred in his ear, "Be careful," before letting him go. Nipah blushed and replied quietly, "Thanks Andrew," as he went back to his task. The other members watched the small interaction between the two. The lights shine brighter for me
My footfalls are hard on the pavement
I will not be stopped
I chased Death out the door
and under the pallor of the night sky,
she worked her way into my chest
Her fingers ventured forth
with the warmth to melt my iron doors
Now I smoke a cigarette in the bone yard
I sit here waiting, praying
for someone to lie by my side
The wind moans like a lover in my ear
It whispers 'come back to me'
Walk with me through my haunted places
If we grow a shadow, it'll soon disappear
I can show you beauty,
if you follow longer than fear allows
The smaller lights cast a greater glow
in the blackest of places

It was a strange sort of advantage we had, very useful at times, although I always felt a pang of guilt after sneaking about so easily. Over the past two decades, I had done the best I could to ensure that my lifeif it could be called as suchwas led as normally as possible, according to the present conventions. I utilized my unique situation only in the direst of circumstances, and even then, I did my best to squash it into repression, to forget the impossible. Pirates Versus Privates, FiveThe Hawkins had suffered tremendous damage from the surprise attack. Mickey's crew had done more than just save him, as they had ransacked the ship for any goods and as a result turned the ship into flying rubbish. The A.R.M.Y. pilots had arrived too late to do any help at all. The Hawkins was forced to stay at Alcatraz and get repairs until it could fly again. Smaller ships and planes from both the N.A.V.Y. and the A.R.M.Y. were sent in to get the stranded girls and return them to headquarters. Minnie and her few friends were the last to leave, since Minnie was yanked into Amelia's chambers for a discussion as to what happened. Clarabelle, Millie, and Daisy tentatively waited outside of the doors, wincing every so often when they heard harsh words flow through.Pirates Versus Privates, Five4 years ago in Romance More Like This
It was a bright and early morning as the three friends waited for the fourth, trying to guess what lay in store for her. Millie kept fidgeting, walking back and forth in circles."Ooooh, I hope the captain isn't too mad at her."
Pirates Versus Privates, TwoThe Hawkins was a beautiful airship, although very few of those who flew upon it knew why it was given that name. Clarabelle's rumors stated that it was after someone Amelia knew, but like most of her gossip, this was unfounded. The true facts were that it was Amelia's main ship, the one used for battle and to transport prisoners. Airships cut down travel times by more than half, through their battles were much more dangerous. Minnie had never been on one before, and perhaps under any other circumstance, she would have been absolutely delighted to know she would be on one soon.Pirates Versus Privates, Two4 years ago in Romance More Like This

Sleep was not allowed until the ship was ready to depart and head towards

Private Minnie wasn't the savviest of shoppers, but even she had to question Mortimer's taste in purchasing this decrepit old house. It looked like something from an old horror movie, with the way the doors creaked, the peeling black paint, and the cobwebs that hung from every corner. She had agreed to come and see the place during a quick break, but as soon as she entered the creepy building she wanted to exit. Privates were not cowards, though, and she forced herself to explore the house while Mortimer talked to the landowner downstairs. She went inside each room and her fright was eased by how dull the exploration was. This building wasn't anything special.
Her curiosity was piqued when she came to a door at the end of a long hallway. This door was decorated with old symbols that she couldn't decipher, and unlike all the other doors, this one was locked. Kicking the door didn't make it budge, so she pulled out her pist

(The betrayal of the musketeers)
It all started on a bright day in France. Spring arrived into the country, bringing back all the magic that winter had taken away. Fields bloomed with many wild flowers and the air was filled with bird song. On the road a small wagon jolted with two passengers on the driver's seat.
"Look! Over there!" a young female cat pointed, curiosity shined in her eyes.
"I see it, my love." smiled the male rabbit next to her "Finally we have arrived in Paris." In the distance, there was a huge city separated by a long, serpentine river. Paris, the city where all dreams come true.
"It's so beautiful." cooed the woman at which her husband chuckled.
"Believe me, Ortensia, we will have a good life from now on." he stated "I'll join the musketeers and we won't have to be poor anymore."
"I know you can do it, Oswald." Ortensia smooched his cheek before coughing badly.
"My love, has your sickness become worse?" Oswald looked
