The sounds of gunfire, the smell of the air on fire, the sight of destruction in every pebble of the earth, it was a nightmare like the one he'd been having for months since leaving Earth. It was the same dream every night--or at least, every night he could actually sleep. In his dreams Earth was a wasteland filled with the charred remains of only trees, a few benches, and the wispy shadows of people, yet every time he approached those shadows, only whispers greeted; they were the whispers of his friends, like Mordin Solus claiming continually someone else may have gotten it wrong, or Thane's last words from his death bed, or even Kaiden's lingering questions.
In his sleep everything that he kept from showing in his eyes in the presence of his crew came crushing down on him. Ashley's death all those years ago; it was his

Aerith awoke to the smell of breakfast being cooked. Stumbling through her morning routine, the last Cetra moved robotically until she finally managed to wake herself up enough to greet the rest of the world.
Her first surprise of the day as she left her bedroom, however, was to see her step-mother coming out of her own room. Elmyra, too, seemed to be surprised to see Aerith. For a minute, the two Gainsborough women stared at each other with questioning looks, confused as to who would be cooking the morning meal.
Suddenly, the young Cetra remembered the strange woman from yesterday- Grace Lunaria, also known as Katlyn Lune. Quickly walking towards the kitchen with Elmyra close behind, the two paused when they suddenly heard music. It was very dramatic-sounding, uplifting yet with a sad tone. As suddenly the music quieted, Aerith and her step-mother peeked into the kitchen.

Azure, Nos Astra, Illium, A few days after the destruction of the Alpha Relay…
As much as he loved the Normandy, his ship, Shepard longed for a quite moment in the sun, without bullets buzzing overhead or explosions tearing down the scenery. A quite moment to feel the wind brush against his skin as it did back on Mindoir, before the batarians came.
He hated them for a longest time. They were the slavers that killed his family and destroyed his home. He joined the Alliance to get some payback and found it in another quite place, Elysium. And like Elysium, the people on the aircars that crossed the Illium sky, commuting to and from work, or sitting down to dinner somewhere on those lofty spires that formed Nos Astra skyline, and even those watching the news about Aratoht didn't know what was coming.

She could barely remember much apart from a small voice talking to her and the fear of not being able to see him again. (A few moments of Garrus' stay on Menae, starting when he meets General Adrien Victus.)
When the reports of blackouts in batarian space reached him, Garrus knew at once what was happening. He had been waiting for something like this for months. The Reapers were coming. He’d already sent a message to his superiors telling them exactly what was going on, and actually made use of his shiny new lessons on how to speak like a politician to make sure he got through to them. He’d even made the effort to be polite for once. Now was not the time to antagonize them, as satisfying as that would have been to rub an ‘I told you so’ into their faces. He might have the title and the task force, but he wasn’t sure all of the higher ups were totally convinced about what he was suppose to be protecting them from. At least having Reapers right at their doorstep should be able to do the talking for him.

Commander John Shepard was lying on the couch in what he would call his new apartment, but after the events in the Bahak system, it was nothing more than a lavish prison to him. His home was just an ear shot's away from the Alliance headquarters on Earth, located in hustling and bustling Vancouver, of the United North American States. Lots of tall buildings and lovely patios for those who either had great Alliance connections, or really knew how to get the best in life. Shepard was not one of those people. Although, judging by his current living status, you would not think that. A large condo with snow white walls and floor, lamps giving off a calm blue light, bed and couch made out of special memory foam, working kitchen filled with food of the highest caliber, and furniture that would put the designs of the now extinct Ikea to shame. But all of that meant absolutely nothing to Shepard. After all, all the riches in the world couldn't make up for the l

After what seemed to be years, the war against the Reapers was finally over. Shepard decided neither to control, nor destroy them. He had grown to hate the Illusive Man after he saw what he really was and, even though Anderson and everybody in the universe, including Shepard himself, wanted the Reapers dead, Shepard realised during these last minutes that he wasn't a murderer.
As he made his last steps, walking away from the little boy known as the Catalyst and headed towards the middle, the choice called 'Synthesis', flashes of his adventure started popping up. His first crew, how it was scattered by the Collectors, his reunion, his feel

Burning trees and falling leaves, wind blew softly against her skin as the smell of burning foliage stung her nose. Shepard stood as she gazed at the burning forest before her; everything looked so dead she wondered how the leafless trees and shrivelled grass still bore some semblance of life. Shepard narrowed her eyes, she recognised the boy but couldn't place him but that didn't stop her from trying to run after the boy. As she ran after

And that thought alone meant so much.
And for that I thank you.
And it's only now that I see what you meant
When you said I would always have a home.

It was difficult for me to pinpoint the moment in my life when the line between angels and demons became pliable. As a child, like most children, I was naively convinced of the polarity of the world: that there existed a concrete, un-crossable boundary that separated good from evil, and protected those of us on the right side. But as time went on, I found myself growing less certain of the distinction. Kira was evil- Kira would always be evil- but me, Near, Roger, even the other children Were we good? Were we evil? There seemed to be no-one who could say besides God, and at that time I was finding it increasingly difficult to communicate with Him.
So I thought and studied and read, and allowed my ambition to swallow my life until angels and demons were replaced with winners and losers, and morality was dictated by the educative red pen. There was something about Near that infuriated me- it might even have been the fa

Ducking his head further into his armor, Garrus unconsciously backed up a step, but Shepard had him in her sights. Uncomfortable, the turian's shifting glances focused on the stars passing out beyond the safety of the ship.
