I decided to do a study in jeans for a better understanding of how cloth folds. Depending on the material, the length, and the cut, there are many different ways a pair of jeans can crumple-- I decided to study photos of straight-cut and slim-fit jeans from a few different angles.
New Year's resolution? Become a better artist. I came to the realization not too long ago that my life is only going to get busier and busier from here on out, so I ought to start leveraging the time I still have.
I've done anatomical sketches in the past, but this is the first time I've tried to render in greater detail. Hopefully I can turn this into a regular habit. In the future, I'll study up on female anatomy as well as hands and feet.
Please zoom in! The bottom eyes are just quick 10 min sketch examples. Example of these eyes in action: I got permission to post, the client felt bad after seeing the journal. This time there won't be any messing around so download and feel free to use for practice <3
Some sketch references about female anatomy I did for the Wysp Learning Engine (here nipple-free to be sure people's eyes won't burn).
The whole set includes 20 frames, each of which comes with a little self-explanatory step by step, aimed to help you reproduce the various elements and poses. You can find it at www.wysp.ws/practice/course/84…
On the engine a digital canvas is also available, allowing you to practice right away on every frame... multiple subjects are already up (dragons, hands, male anatomy)... it was quite a nice discovery, worth a visit for sure!
Hey guys, Few things before I leave. I used my character Jinx for emotions study. You may or may not notice that she will and will not have her lip piercings on some of the faces, that's because in some of the emotions, the piercings didn't look quite right, and other times, her face looked really nice without it. Like # 4 for instance, I really like that face, she looks so sweet and cute~
Also the section names I have given are not precise emotion names, its just the general type of emotion, not the specific type. For instance in the angry section # 6 is a type of rage face, yet to be general, she's mad as hell. The specific type of emotions I would be putting down, seemed too normal, so instead, I put quotes of at the top of each emotion to show you how she is feeling. Naming things is pretty hard, so I put these quotes to give you the idea of what she feels.
There are also some emotions without quotes, because her mouth isn't exactly making out words like #6 or #7. #11 shows you what I mean. "Hallow sadness" Its that type of deep emotion where you don't want to scream at the top of you lungs, so instead you keep it bottled up inside and let the tears roll down you cheeks. Sadly that emotion had come to me many times, so basically the tears tell you what she feels, deep sadness. Jinx is the type of person that doesn't like to show her emotions at all, so I thought, "Hey this may work", shoot I hope it did?
Also the sections names color is the color of the emotions Jinx is expressing. I did some research on emotions and many of the websites gave me the same color, but different emotions, so I may have the false color for these sections. If someone can help me with that, that would be great! :'D
Anywayz I hope this showed you what I have been working on! See yeah!
