This is made entirely from foam. So its super light weight! The inside has a thick spongy foam to keep the shape, the outside is constructed from craft foam. Painted with gold and silver metallic paint mixed with black acrylic to create the worn shading. Sealed with several coats of mod podge matte. The lovely glowing effect is created by one blue LED light shining through a cable tube into a small perfume bottle. Took me about 5 days to complete. It doses not have all the details as the scepter Loki holds but I did my best to accurately recreate it. Id say its pretty darn accurate.
And I made a pattern along the way so I can easily make more scepters … if anyone is interested? Scepter Length
I recently wore my Loki cosplay and got tons of complements on my scepter! Everyone one was super impressed and baffled by the fact that I made it and its all foam. I even had a professional prop maker tell me I had the best prop at the convention!
I honestly didn't think it would ever turn out this good but I have proven myself wrong and gained a ton of confidence! I am now the queen of foam!

If you would like to buy this lovely prop contact me! Finally fixed my scepter and took some better pictures!! Woot! I made the light function more funtionble by making a chamber where the lights simply rest inside. So when a light dies you can easily switch them out.

So this is the special project I was talking about. If you've been following my twitter feed-- you'll probably have seen a few bits and pieces of progress as I was making it. It's a hand-cut, childishly glued [I found my hands stuck together several times], love sweat and tears infused shadow box for my dearest Doctor. It looks spectacular in person. I'm sorta proud.
While I wanted to submit it on the day of the 50th-- I will [unfortunately] be out of town for this whole weekend, so I'll have to make it up to myself by catching it at the theatres on Monday. As a special gift for the 50th, this baby will be available as prints immiediately on the official store and Society6. Links will be below.
The collage consists of lots of recurring themes and items from the 11th Doctor's run-- from 'Vincent and the Doctor' to 'Nightmare in Silver'. If you'd like, Comment and say how many things you can find!
But seriously, I had a lot of fun-- 'a good romp in the sandbox' as someone might say it. Eleven means the world to me.
I don't know where I am. I don't know where I'm going or where I've been. I was born to save The Doctor, but The Doctor is safe now. I'm the Impossible Girl, and my story is done.
You know an episode is good when you have trouble choosing out of all the different scenes you want to draw out. That was of the most captivating episodes of anything I've seen. Delicious, delicious episode. I am just stunned. Completely, entirely, properly stunned. Steven Moffat has my absolute compliments.
Back to Clara, I'm very proud of her- you could say, I wanted to draw her very strong-- holding the Doctor up when he is on the battered brink of defeat; because that's what she does-- she saves the Doctor. I was just really, really intrigued by her role in all this. Because she is Souffle girl, she can do these things. She goes between the contaminated Time stream and the Doctor and she heals it. Its a very cool thing.
So, There's a lot more to say-- but I think I'll just sketch out some more scenes.
"First there were the Daleks. And then there was a man who fought them. And then in time he died. There are a few, of course, who believe this man somehow survived and that one day he will return. For both our sakes, dearest Hannah, we must hope these stories are true." --
Funny. Funnily enough; here we are with the big #12 announcement tomorrow and I'm still drawing scenes from the beginning of Series 7. Did have a mood to use that ravishing red from Oswin's Dress, and note: The flower. Because she is a lovely Dalek. I thought it would be funny to have the flower on it instead of Oswin coming out of the Dalek itself. Also, wanted words on my picture-- so I put words on the picture. Like a Newspapery look. (You'll have to pardon The Dalek's scribble-y nature, this was the first time drawing the little balls of hate.)
Also, anxious/excited for the new face of the Doctor. I suggest we all hold hands.
Disclaimer: This actually isn't my milli-watcher celebration piece; I had this going before the polls. So sorry.
“If he wins I give up my mind and he gets access to all my memories along with knowledge of time travel. But, if I win he’ll break his promises to get out of my head and then kill us all anyway.”
I should do a more proper piece with Both the Doctor and Mr. Clever together sometime. But all in all, Bloody fine acting. Dan-fangled brilliant concept. Delicious cinematography. Expect no reviews. I'm definitely biased. Wasn't perfect, but I love "battle of wits/the mind/the dark self" stuff, and its Mr. Gaiman a la Jekyll and Hyde, so yes. I did like it. I suppose this piece is sorta like the transition between the two sides, its an obscure expression I ended up drawing, haha. Not sure if it goes well. This sketch gave me a ton of grief to get the look I wanted, crazy stuff. I just might do another one if I have time.
