Fella\'s Big CSS GuideWelcome to fella's epic CSS reference blog! I rounded up some of dA's favourite, and most helpful, CSS-ers and picked their brains to bring you a comprehensive reference which includes great tips, tutorials, groups and resources to help you make the most of your dA experience using Cascading Style Sheets to prettify your journals, galleries, groups and userpages.Fella\'s Big CSS Guide4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Big thanks to VSConcepts, SaTaNiA, ginkgografix and TwiggyTeeluck for their help in making this blog!
Starting from the absolute basics, how would you describe what CSS is and what it can be used for on deviantART?
VSConcepts says, Well, CSS Stands for Cascading Style Sheet. CSS essentially takes existing HTML and dresses it up. CSS controls how the basic HTML can be displayed to the viewer, and thus enhances the experience on the web. On deviantART, we apply CSS to our personal journals, our group blogs, and news articles, and even use it in some custom widgets.

Star Wars: Battlefront Trailer
There’s an official trailer for the new Star Wars: Battlefront game, and it looks pretty amazing. We’re seeing a lot of what we expected: classic battles from the original trilogy as well as a few landscapes we don’t recognize. We know that the game will include a downloadable level from the new film, The Force Awakens, but otherwise we’re not entirely sur
'So, how do you color?'+other questionsI've been getting quite a few questions lately, so I figured it would be easier to group them together.'So, how do you color?'+other questions3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I'd just like to point out that I am by no means a professional, nor do I have any sort of formal training in art; so if you come across something that makes you go "Hey that's not what I was taught!!! ", you are most likely right. I just like to draw, that's all.
- I use Photoshop for filters and animating and Paint Tool SAI for everything else.
- I use mainly a single layer for coloring. I use plenty of layers for the sketch though..
- I use SAI's default brushes for painting. I occasionally tweak the brush shape and blending according to what I'm trying to paint at the time.
Questions regarding coloring:
Huge chunk of text ahead. TL;DR at the bottom.
"So, how do you color?"
"Can you make a tutorial on how you color?"
These are probably the most common questions I get, and they are the only two I don't know how to answer properly.

The basics of signature-making!
Don't give me the Too long, didn't read stuff. You really gotta read this!
I have been in contact with a few other siggy makers, and want-to-be siggy makers.
However, I was shocked at how little of the basics they seemed to know.
Not saying I'm all-knowing either but on the day my bf showed me the art of "siggy making" he first smashed like a ton of tuts about flow and focal and rule of thirds etc etc into my face.
Unlike what some people like to think, "flow" and "focal" and "rule of thirds" aren't "styles" you decide to work with. They are basics to put your piece together. While flow is optional, the other two are not. The rule of thirds can be played with, but of course everyone understands you must balance your piece and avoid putting stuff into the corners.
I'll first go in depth about what they are.

Manga Studio Walkthrough: Part 3- Wavy Text- TextWavy text, speech bubbles, custom speech bubbles, outlined text. TEXT GALORE! Yes this one is covering Text 8D I always see that someone uses photoshop for wavy text even though manga studio can do it or they use photoshop for that white outline but in manga studio it's a matter of a click of a button I will show you how.Manga Studio Walkthrough: Part 3- Wavy Text- Text3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
I will show you also how to auto screentone speech bubbles for that dark foreboding feeling.
Click on the text tool, it's the icon that looks like the letter A. Click on your art work in the panel area you wish to use text. The properties panel will appear as above. Where I have pointed out in red, tick for out line. Change the number up or down for the thickness of the white outline.
Tick and adjust the other options for other effects. Now for the speech bubble click where I marked in red the tab called Dialogue Balloon Settings.
Click generate Dialogue Balloon and a new window will appear

i all! I'm really looking forward to seeing what comes from this project as I have already put a lot of work into it and have become quite attached. My friend, Iain, and I have decided to travel for a year together. We both have always wanted to but have never had the opportunity for various reasons, but we've decided that there is no time like the present! We have begun designing products to sell in order to fund our year-long adventure starting in England (where Iain lives), traveling all through Europe, sailing across the Mediterranean, and traveling southeast through India, China, Japan and finally New Zealand. One of our fund raising endeavors is to create a deck of playing cards to sell throughout our travels and via our online store. We imagine a deck that is both unique and stylized, featuring a variety of artists with a range of styles and a common theme of world travel and global commun

My friend Kahira recently got a magical machine that can make iPhone/iPad cases and mousepads and more. She's been making some of my art into really cool stuff! ( ˘//////˘ ) like this:
If you might be interested in something, please take a look at her shop here: Bloomiville on Etsy
She can do totally custom orders! So if there's a drawing of mine you'd like that isn't listed in the store, feel free to message me [which image, what product type] and I'll see if my file is hi-res enough for it (°ω°)b
I don't have a lot of recent art on dA but you can see a lot of newer HxH/Haikyuu/Magi/Kagepro fanarts on
Manga Studio EX 4 Walk Through Part 1Image Heavy! So if you have an old or slow PC this tutorial may not be for you. It may cause lag or a crash. Just so you know.Manga Studio EX 4 Walk Through Part 13 years ago in Art Features More Like This
This tutorial set will cover text and how to do comic style wavy text with a white outline. Panels dones with the panel ruler so when you draw in the panel nothing goes outside said panel without the need for selection tool. Screentones, custom tones and other ways to tone. Inking if I get far enough. And 3D materials for setting up scenes.
FIRST STEP: MAKE YOUR DPI 1200!!! You can change those at any point using layers alone! I'll elaborate more later.
In the below image. Hide beginners mode. Open the Navigation window, Colour, Layers and Tool Options in the Window Tab.
Where I have marked red go to the tab called Rulers. Left click and the option shown will appear. Choose Panel Ruler Layer.
In the image below, use the two tools pointed to, to cut and adjust your panels.

He changes outfits, but he usually wears cool clothes like those. And he does change his hair style. He can have it in spikes or slicked back or like in that reference image. He's not the type to stick to any one thing for long (except for Elaine). ;o
Update, 03 Aug 13: I just want to make it clear that
TalentPlease artists, take a time and read it.Talent1 year ago in Personal More Like This
A lot of people is been asking me recently about what I do to create, how I developed my work, if I have any formal study in arts, or if it's only "talent". Oh, talent, that damn word. I don't disregard talent at all, but what I really think is that's a complete waste of time for us as artists to underestimate the value of HARD WORK. Talent is a given, Hard work is coachable, and that's all. Simple math. Here's an excerpt of text that says it all:
"Talent is, in common parlance, 'what comes easily'. So, sooner or later, inevitably, you reach a point where the work doesn't come easily, and, -Aha!, it's just what you feared.
Wrong. By definition, whatever you have is exactly what you need to produce your best work. There's probably no clearer waste of psychic energy than worrying about how much talent you have- And probably no worry more common.
Talent, if it is anything, is a gift, and nothing of the artist's own making.

Carring on from yesterdays tutorial with panelling.
In the panel you intend to use for you building or 3D object use the tool shown in the red square. Options will appear though I hid mine for now to show you what the 3D plane looks like. When you select the tool click and drag to the borders of your panel.
Now the properties panel will open for what you wish to put in this area. This can range from guns to motor bikes to housing and city scapes. The best part however is that you can build your OWN 3D objects to place in here. I'm going to show you how to arrange in perspective, change to line art only or line art and toning. Before I go on this is for any trolls:
I am not endorsing cutting corners or showing how to be lazy. Manga studio allows you to be a one artist team. This is go

Getting started with digital artAs an artist that does digital art, I always get a lot of questions about what tablets people should use and how to make their choices. While I think equipment isn't all that matters, I think some things are good to take in consideration when buying a tablet. So here's something to get you started!Getting started with digital art2 weeks ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Why do I need a tablet? Can't I use a mouse instead?
The biggest reason; ergonomics. When you do a lot of computer work in general, it's better to use a tablet over a mouse. This is because a mouse isn't designed for precision work. It's putting too much pressure on muscles that are not intended for precision work, hence it raises your chances to get all kinds of nasty injury's. Even if you can draw just fine with a computer mouse, you might actually consider to start using a tablet, for the reason that
