Hey all. Welcome to the Recommend A Friend Project. This journal's purpose will be to describe this little project, and to tell you information about signing up. Please be sure to read all the following information carefully in order for things to run smoothly. If you'd like to spread word about this project or even just favorite this journal so it reaches a larger audience, it would be most appreciated!
Basically, I noticed a part of my profile seemed a little blank, so I decided to create a custom box on my page dedicated to featuring deviants of all talents weekly . The box will feature a recommended friend, and the deviant that recommended them. It will also include a tidbit about the recommended friend, including why you should check them out Each duo will be up for a week, and at the end of the month, I will collect all of th

It's really hard for anyone to stay positive all the time. I definitely agree with that.
However, when things go wrong, it's so easy to forget how much you've been blessed. It's amazing that we have the internet, people who care, and hope...
Although there is a lot of bad in this world, there is also beautiful joy and countless things to appreciate.
And that makes me praise life.
The memories, the laughter, the joy, the hugs through hard times.
In this life, we only have one chance! I think one of our life purposes is to spread love throughout this world and leave it in better shape than before we were here.
It would be much appreciated if you help spread the word! ( & Comment!)
Devious Accents `05Have you ever wondered what goes on in the artistic endeavors of a Senior? What makes them tick?Devious Accents `052 years ago in Art Features More Like This
"Devious Accents" is a feature/interview series of Senior Members here on deviantART that aims to surface key features of each Senior and to show them to the community as a whole, brought to you by dAseniors--the official group for Senior Members on deviantART!
Finally, thoughts and sentiments from the Senior-side are revealed to the general community. Let's get started!
Joining us this week will be TimberClipse,
a young director of photography and Deviousness Award recipient of May 2012!
MiloticScale: Why did you decide to make the leap and become a deviant?
TimberClipse: I was originally introduced to deviantART by one of my friends right after turning thirteen. It was a fantastic decision and one that I truly believe has shaped the years following for me to grow and develop not only as a dev
Communities rely on Pillars made of HeartCommunities of all kinds are held up by pillars made of heart. Typically embodied by people who let the weight of their community rest on their shoulders, willing to let life be life. Sometimes it hurts, and sometimes it's comfortable. Regardless, the result is a halo that surrounds all participants in a community. The healing light of being mothered, fathered or cared for.Communities rely on Pillars made of Heart2 years ago in Personal More Like This
These are very special people who take this role in your community. Maybe this person is you. In which case, please be you today, and every day. Because you are very important.
For the rest of us, we all know who the pillars are that hold up the communities that we care about. We all know the value of what they do, especially when we stop to think about it.
There is nothing in life that I have ever found a deeper admiration for than people who take on this role. Pillars of Community. When a human being digs their heels in, claims territory and begins to show Love towards a group of people, they begin to embody

So it's 2013, and so far, I have not posted anything for the new year. Eh... perhaps you're happy about that, or perhaps, you're feeling that I wasn't festive enough... So let's be festive. Deviant style.
I would like to thank a few of my watchers for watching me and making 2013 a year to remember. So I will randomly be giving out:
5 Selection features (I will choose a selection from your gallery to feature)
All you have to do:
Fave this journal
Comment with your favorite PLZ account, emote, or write something fun
This also doubles as my watcher-check in. I feel like this is more fun than just a boring poll [Shrug]
Happy new year deviants!
So you want to be a CV...Sometimes I like to wander through the communityrelations group, and I always come across comments from people so willing to become volunteers, I constantly come across people who say "Applied for ___ gallery!", "I can't wait to be 18 to apply!", "I so want to be on the team!", there are some who list the complete CR roster in their personal profiles, who openly say in their tagline, signatures or devIDs "Hoping to be a CV one day", etc. This is specially evident in the The Community Relations Team journal, where the opening positions are listed. So you want to be a CV...4 years ago in Art Features More Like This
To those people: take this journal just as a personal opinion and a friendly advice from a fellow community member, someone who loves the community and is willing to contribute and give back the way one can. This comes from my personal experience, shouldn't be taken as the whole Community Relations nor deviantArt's official stance.

About a week ago we put out a casting and location call for actors, we have received some great applications and should know who will be part of our cast within the next week or two!
We have also received some absolutely amazing support both from deviants and from other sites including promotion from numerous groups including the NYS Governor's Office for Motion Picture & Television Development, we also have news interviews coming up for additional publicity.
Happy Birthday DeviantART! Welcome to WonderlandHappy Birthday DeviantART!1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
I find myself delighted to lay my rather large eyes on you. A purrfectly delicious mystery awaits you. Won't you come this way?
I've been a bad kitty-- a very naughty, naughty feline, indeed. You see, today is Alice's Unbirthday, and all the inhabitants of Wonderland had planned to join her and the Mad Hatter for tea and cake. But, the Mad Hatter, being quite a bit off his rocker, is requiring that everyone wear a hat to the party. Anyone without a hat cannot attend.
Whoops! Mysteriously, *smile* all the hats in Wonderland have gone missing. What a shame, what a shame. Whatever shall we do?
I know what we shall do. You and I, stranger, we shall go to the party together. I hear the cake is delicious this year, and there will be plenty for us.
Except, wait! HA! You cannot!!! You have no hat, either! I suppose you'll have to stay here, too, then. Very well. Goodbye.

The theme of the contest is to create an artwork inspired by a song of your choosing, and also to let us know how/why you got inspired from that song in the description box.

Why should we bother writing journals and articles featuring art? It takes time and effort but is it really worth it? Do people read and look through our features?
I'll try to explore some of these questions in my today's article and I'd like you to write your experience and opinions as well!
Reasons to feature
"Why bother" is a question that a proud community member never asks himself. First of all, DeviantArt is a place of inspiration filled with pictures, rarely a person gets by without browsing art and eventually "faving" them. Some people focus entirely on collecting artworks into their Favorites folders - this action and displaying artworks in your journal or a poll brings me to the first reason, supporting the artist. Further than that, it starts a dialogue between you and the featured artist (either via Mentions or by letting them know about the feature yourself).

You are one of the most diligent deviants I've met, you paint 10 hours every day and update your fan pages with admirable orderliness. How difficult does it get, do you sometimes struggle with your inner muse?
In fact, there are days I work even longer, but there are also days when I do not get to draw. For several years my creativity is absolutely flooding. Especially when I'm on a trip with my family, many ideas just come to me. I
Inspiring Deviants: LiteratureEveryday, I have the opportunity to meet so many wonderful deviants who continue to inspire me. In the eight years I have shared my writing here, I have had the privilege to meet others who value my passion for Literature and beyond – and have gained so much. From many here I have learned the power of stirring inspiration, delving into our creative passions, and connections in love and friendship. I wanted to spotlight just a few artistic souls who have made a distinctive impact in my life – and to express my deepest gratitude towards them all for making a difference within our Literature community.Inspiring Deviants: Literature2 years ago in Literature Features More Like This

Everyday we're CV'ingAs a Community Volunteer - I do as much or as little within the community that I feel comfortable doing. We're not pressured to do this and that, we don't even have to give a Daily Deviation every day, we choose how we promote our selected galleries/chats and forums and we're not fixed to any specific rule on how much or how little we do. But I do believe that it's important to share with you just what the community volunteers do and why we do it. More importantly it's so easy to get lost on this site full of many people - and miss out on the awesome that's going on. Calling all beta testers, bug lovers and feature loving deviants.
I have exciting news! devBUG is looking for some new deviants to be Alpha Tester!
But what is an alpha tester?
An Alpha tester is a bit like a Beta tester only they get to test out new features before Beta testers do.
So, what do alpha testers get to do?
As an alpha tester you'll have the chance to talk to staff and developers about new and upcoming features, and help find and report any bugs that there may be, before it goes to beta testers or th

jark is arrested in Disneyland for cutting in line and refusing to move to the back.
2004 - "British Takeover"
April Fool's Day 2004 marked the day the British took over deviantART. New rules were enforced on that day, including spelling "color", "colour" and saying "Cheers guv'nor" instead of "Thank You".
