Monday Will Be ManicHiya, Baybees! On Monday evening your beloved Harl will be moving; not from this site, or in general, but to my dorm. I just recently graduated from my previous college and received two Associates Degrees in both Arts and Science so now I'm attempting to get my Bachelor's Degree. Basically this means I'll not be posting as often. But not ta' worry because I'll be home on the weekends and will try to get online during my free-time. Which will most likely be on Wednesdays when I have no class during the week.Monday Will Be Manic8 months ago in Personal More Like This
I'm a mess of emotions, but I think it'll be okay. I'm not really sure if my "roomie" and I will get along from our first impressions, but I'll give it the old "college try."
ANYWAY, let's get down ta' the business you really care about.
"Harl, are you ever get post new photos?"
Well I have a lot I'm working on and now my classes, but YES by Sept. 12th I'll have Morticia Addams

Bosch: Lampoonist or Serious Visionary?
Creator of some of the most bizarre and frightening artwork in the history of art, scholars have long debated who exactly Hieronymus Bosch was and what was the meaning and purpose of his “over the top” grotesqueries (c. 1450—1500). His most famous work is the triptych The Garden of Earthly Delights. Panel One depicts Adam & Eve in Paradise. Panel Two depicts the earthly delights: nude bodies, exotic birds, bowls of fruit. Panel Three depicts Hell’s punishments for partaking of the delights. Centuries later, scholars debated whether he was a radical religious heretic or a satir

J. Paul Getty - The Liberation of Masterpieces as Open Content
The J. Paul Getty Museum has initiated an Open Content Program to share, freely and without restriction, as many of the Getty’s digital resources as possible.
A first sharing of 4,600 high-resolution images of the Museum’s collection, including many masterworks, has just been made available and all are free to use, modify, and publish for any purpose.

He probably won't be posting any of his work, anymore. But if you want to find him, that's his new account. Hopefully, he won't just lurk. I love reading his journals.

She is one who is of deep feelings and her creations, naturally, are such that would move me deeply as well. It is the twisted quirky little things her characters say and odd appearance and unique style of her work that makes her a jewel in the art community. I think that she may possibly be swayed to become an active devart member once again if she is shown an abundance of support, love and encouragement from all of us here who love to see what she may create next. Here are some lovely pieces:

soaking in the sunlight cascading through open window.
Closing eyes, taking note of every noise heard;
whines, caws, roars, rustles, beats...
Sly smile spreading across lips,
knowing no one can see.
No one here to scratch my itch.

understand a painting study dont just copyThis is purely an observation from my point of view but whenever i see a study or painting based on a masterpiece or a screen plate. The results are almost in every case very good.So this tells me that our ability to copy is quite good and its not really required to be a high level artist.Junior level to mid level ones can pull this off easily too. Everything you need to know is already in the image we are trying to copy so it becomes a recipe for us.understand a painting study dont just copy2 years ago in Personal More Like This
the important thing though is to not "copy" it but to understand it and deconstruct a work method from it.And if you understand that then the work based from your own mind will be alot better.
When i see this kind of work , for me its not the level of detail and accurcy that one puts in the copied artwork that impresses me, but the images based on that learned knowledge afterwards. And to tell you the truth not many people understand this knowledge or are aware of how important it is to understand it.But the interesting phenomenon is that

It's been several months since logging into dA, and I am completely floored! Typical life distracted me for some time, and I ended up forgetting my login. After unsuccessfully trying to retrieve it from 'them', I lost hope.
I randomly decided to try again today- and here I am! Hey y'all!
I've missed you all, and all of the beautiful work that's been posted since my disappearance. I plan to visit often.

He was an artist you might not know.
But you’ve met his children…
It’s rare that a “new” iconic monster is born and becomes forever identifiable,—— no matter the variations, by generation after generation. So it was when George Romero created the ultimate “zombie” in his Night of the Living Dead in 1968. Zombie Apocalypse fans today may have never heard of George or seen the original “Night,” but the zombies they so love in fare like The Walking Dead owe their existence to Romero’s original vision.
In 1979, screenwriter Dan O’Bannon craft
