Tutorial: Basic Cosplay Make-upBasic Information:Tutorial: Basic Cosplay Make-up2 years ago in Personal More Like This
As said before: English is not my native language. I'm sorry for every mistake I made while writing. I'm just showing you what works for me. This is a "you can" tutorial and not "you must". I hope this gives you a basic idea on how I do it and helps you as well. I will not show you any brands of make-up I work with since they are different from country to country. I'm not a dermatologist or a professional make-up artist, so I can't give you tips for "problem skin" cases like acne and so on. Please consult a doctor and let them give you tips for what's best to use before buying something randomly
If you don't know what make-up to use out of the hilarious amount of available products in stores ask a vendor in the store of your choice. They will help you.
This tutorial will be the base for every upcoming make-up related tutorial I will post in the future.
First of all I clean my skin and apply vanishing crème. It's always good to do so

Few words about Joker and Harley costumesREI: We wanted to make a small post about our new costumes, inspired by the amazing arts of NoFlutter :iconnoflutter:Few words about Joker and Harley costumes2 days ago in Personal More Like This
You, guys, must have seen my Victorian Poison Ivy costume, which was as well designed and drawn by the same artist. I felt in love with it the minute I saw it. And Ryoko also liked Harley Quinn’s costume and decided to make it in pair with me.
But after some time NoFlutter created the amazing, colorful and eye-catching design of gender bender Joker. And immediately we thought that would be a great idea to make the craziest comics pair of all times together. Harley Quinn and a new girlfriend she created for herself – the Lady Joker! On misunderstandings about cosplayThis is a topic I've been meaning to talk about for quite a while now. I finally got the motivation to when Sarah sorairo-days emailed me to share my thoughts on what cosplay means to me, and what I feel it really means to be a cosplayer despite all the misconceptions about the hobby. It's for this article on Random Nerds, in which Sarah shares her side of it as well.On misunderstandings about cosplay3 years ago in Personal More Like This
Over the years, I've witnessed how cosplayers are constantly looked down upon, which makes people apprehensive towards it. It's such a shame because it's a wonderful and rewarding hobby which brings people together. And in general, I am firmly against making anyone feel bad about doing something they want to do.
I am aware that the concept of cosplay might be too much for some individuals, but our intention definitely isn't to get all up in everyone's faces and say everyone should cosplay or whatever. We just want to promote a

Week 2 helping students at CDA. I know I sound like a broken record telling students to slow down.
But we ( Kevin, Dan, and Esmerelda ) can't stress that enough. Really think out the marks that you put down.
You'll get to spend more time drawing and not fixing. When I sit down to help students, I ask them simple questions
and they always answer correctly. Example: Me: What view is the head in? Student: Side view. Slightly tilted
away. Me: Correct. So let's draw the base head. ( we go through the steps involved in drawing this view )
Me: Now what do we do next? Student: Draw the carpet shape to envelope the torso. Me: Right ( We go through
the steps ) Main point being that the student knows this stuff. Just needs to slow down.
Better slow and correct than fast and sloppy.
When you go to drawing workshops. It's better to draw slower in the beginning. Maybe

5 Unanswered QuestionsA few times a week I'll get questions in the form of “notes” on dA, emails, and private messages on Twitter, but I'm sorry to say that I don't normally find the time to answer them. But I've saved the most interesting ones in hopes I'd answer them during a slow work day. That day is today.5 Unanswered Questions6 months ago in Personal More Like This
(Most of these questions are paraphrased, or a mix of two different questions.)
1. You charge way too much for commissions (between $1000-$3000 for 11x17). How do you justify that?
I agree it's a lot of money. When I first started pricing commissions so high, it was for 2 reasons: I only had time for a handful a year, and having a commission list stressed me out. I priced them high so less people would ask. Commissions are nice, but I see it as a short term money game, whereas working on creator-owned properties is more lucrative over time when you think about prints, t shirts, licensing, etc.
The work I put into a 1k commission is the same I'd put into a Batman cover. And I sell B

Revisiting Naruto cosplay + Road to Ninja Movie! So I've heard of this film for a long while, but never got to watch it for lack of a proper subbed copy/DVD release. Sometime last month, some happy news reached our shores — Road to Ninja would be showing at our local cinemas!! I know it's been a while since its first release but I'm glad I waited before resorting to well, less legal ways of watching it! Hahah! Here is a stupid rap I wrote and slapped on a manga panel:

Literary Compass - Vol. 7WelcomeLiterary Compass - Vol. 72 years ago in Literature Features More Like This
If one is looking for Literature, you don't need to go far on deviantART. There is a large community of writers and a plethora of work to peruse. Featuring genres such as fantasy, mystery, horror, and romance, one would be hard-pressed to find an area not covered. However, due to the nature of the site, shorter works tend to get more focus. It's easier to quickly read a poem or a short story, and thus many of the feature articles on dA showcase those works. However, there are many novelists and serial writers among the mix, oftentimes fighting an uphill battle to have their works seen and appreciated.
With that in mind, I have started an article to spotlight some of those artists and their literary-worlds. The works covered in this feature will exclusively be long-form fiction such as novels, trilogies, etc., or fiction serials.
Editor's Note: Some people feel it is questionable when a writer who publishes an article series features their own work. Mir

Too expensive, too cheapEdit: Just wanted to add one more thought.Too expensive, too cheap4 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Remember that some kids here are just playing. They can either draw for practice and earn nothing or practice by drawing commissions for small amount of money. Even a small gratification like that is a boost for someone who's just starting out and encourage them to get better. I remember when I was starting out, nobody except my two friends would want even a free request from me, so I know the feeling "at least someone out there wants it".
In my opinion teen artists do not pose much threat to professionals who are way faster and more skilled than them. Moreover, they have school and homework, so there is a limited time they can spend on drawing. Am I wrong?
Some complain that artists have too high prices. Surprisingly however, others complain that teen artists ruin the market with their cheap art. People who complain about that often advise to get a real part-time job at McDonald's or something instead of selling art.
But to me this sounds
