That night, sleep found me almost before I was even on the bed. Dreams followed close in suit, their presence unwelcome. Eighty percent of the time when I had dreams they were horrific and made me wish I could hide from my own slaughterhouse of a mind. But tonight it was something of a nightmare and something prolific.
I was looking at myself across a room occupied solely by black. Dim yellow hung over him. He was hunched over like a creature over prey. His arms were wrapped around his chest by a straight jacket and his neck was bound by a leather strap to the wall behind him. His mouth was covered with one of the muzzles I'd grown used to at the 'research facility'. His eyes held a menacing quality that I used to see in the mirror. His hair was wild as a rabid dog's, stubble peppering what could be seen of his chin. The pants he wore were light blue and white striped, the

The freaky flying folk – Luke guessed that they were the Furies – were gaining in on him, and they'd be digging their large talons on his shoulder blades any moment now. That I’m not allowed to skip over when it comes up.
It’s not a particularly good song, but it has very fitting lyrics. And if I can hear them without thinking that someone needs to hurt me, then everything is okay.
I know that I’m okay.
The first time that I’d stood on this bridge I got Stairway to Heaven, which is a great song, and which I’d been happy to listen to while I watched the running water and worried about a class and a guy who’d unnerved me. And I’d been hoping I’d get a similar song this time, sitting with my back against the railing and my feet under me to spare my legs the snow and ice.
But this song came up, and I had to let it play.
I don’t have a lot of rules, but I don’t ever, EVER let myself break the ones I do.
To the point of cruelty sometimes.
And this guy is still unnerving me, because it’s not something I’m ever supposed to feel. It’s

The heat was almost unbearable in the study as the sun hovered high overhead. Strangely, all was silent; nothing could be heard but the scratching of a quill on paper and the occasional dip into the inkwell. Bending over his unfinished map, Malik wiped a bead of sweat from his brow. He set his quill down to look outside. The weather was growing warmer as the summer dragged on, and he could see a group of novices training on the grounds. He could still remember the days when he would practice with Kadar and Altaїr. Sighing, he allowed his mind to wander, becoming absorbed in his personal thoughts. His fingers traced the folded left sleeve of his Assassin robes. Four years had passed since that day in Solomon's Temple, and yet he remembered it as though it had happened yesterday. The memory of Kadar, and the look of pain and shock in his eyes as he died was forever ingrained into Malik's mind. Looking over at his missing arm, he remembered t

RED Medic hung from his foot on one of his own team Sniper's traps (the idiot!); the other had broken her ankle and was sprawled on the dusty ground. Unfortunatly, her Medigun was flung away from her a good number of yards from her reach, so there was little chance of healing herself. RED Medic certainly wouldn't heal her. With both of their teams ignorant of their whereabouts, they had all the time in the world to cuss and argue and ridicule.
BLU Medic blew away her bangs from her eyes. She gripped her bonesaw despite its uselessness at the moment. Why have one if you couldn't even walk up to an opponent and attack? So she sat there waiting for RED Medic's response. He hung there like a sack of potatoes glaring at her. His only movements were to keep his spectacles in place

Yes, there’s certainly something sinister about these zones along with the inhabitants, and the rulers of these zones, as well. Something changed when he changed – the never once mentioned king, who’s name remained a forbidden topic until he was cast aside and forgotten entirely, erased from the memories of even those who once knew of his seemingly kindness that shone outwardly. No one was openly hateful about their relationship, and certain others (especially Tsukune and Moka) supported them whole-heartedly. Mizore was considered the 'man' in the relationship, especially after she and Kurumu went to the prom together, and the yuki girl was wearing a tuxedo. They're one of the most well-known couples in the entire academy, and they have gained quite a fanbase with the male students, much to their distress.
It was about two days after they had first slept together that Kurumu, as she rested her head on Mizore's lap, made a suggestion.
"...Mizore, I want my parents to meet you," Kurumu remarked.

Come with me now
Let's play a game
All of my other tests
Didn't go well
But I think you
Can survive this
You saw the Saw movies, too
So you know what to do
Lie down on this chair
While I put this nail gun here
Right up to your neck
Made to shoot in
Unless you find the key
But if you don't now,
Then you will die
Don't be afraid
What do you think you're do-in?
Hey, don't waste your time
Trying to run away
You're just making it
Harder to live
Just find the damn key
Before the gun goes off
Trust me on this
You just might live
The key is in the room
Just look some more
Just look some more
Just look some, some more
The key is in the room

'Yeah, like someone like Nick could control the world? Why would he even want to, right?' I thought.
"Exactly," Kuni said, "With the help of this flute, you will be able to summon Arceus."

It was cold, dark, and lonely. It had been a simple mistake. It was rare to see rabbits out of their winter burrows, and in your excitement, you had chased after it hoping you could catch it and show it to your parents.
Unfortunately, not only had you lost sight of the cleverly camouflaged creature in the blanket of snow, but you had gotten lost, yourself. Everything looked the same out here. There were no visible landmarks and no one out here to find you. You had gone far out of hearing range, and your throat already hurt from screaming for your mother. You would have cried, but your nose stung from the frost and your energy was completely drained.
“I’m going to die out here,” you sniffed. “I’m never going to see Mommy or Daddy again.”
“Child, what are you doing here?”
You gasped and looked up. There, kneeling in front of you, was a young man clothed with nothing more than a light tunic and a thin pair of pants—he was
