My BlogTV viewersAs I've said many a time, my BlogTV viewers have been watching me for almost a whole year getting to know the good and bad sides of me whether I like it or not , heh.My BlogTV viewers4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Well today was one of the most pleasant surprises that they could have given me and allow me to explain how I saw it:
I was working away trying to learn SketchUp in order to model some maps from 5th Capsule which I have writen some three chapters of, when all of sudden I hear a knock at the office door. My office is deep within the office area , so sometimes I don't hear it. It was one of my students with a GAP bag and non-threatening demenor.
I asked him what it was, to which he replied 'when you open it, you'll know'. I responded quickly with another question : 'will it explode'? He assured me it wouldn't. I took it back to my office and the BlogTV people were there as I was in the middle of broadcasting.
I open it.
Apparently, my fans from the show all got together and bought for my birthday not o

Using Natural Lighting and Outdoor Environments in Still Life
Many wonderful still life photographers use indoor setups and lighting for their photography. But, since I started out as a nature photographer, I like to utilize natural light and shoot my still life photos outdoors. However, taming the outdoor world can be a little tricky, so I wanted to write an article discussing several tips for improving outdoor still life shots and explaining how I shot several of my own still life photographs.
Here are several tips...
1.) Try different angles. Outdoor lighting environments can look widely different depending on the angle, since the angle you shoot at can change lighting, general perspective of the subject, and what is in your background. So for each shot I take, I always try several different angles. I also try re-positioning my subject a few times and even moving to a different outdoor area.

Hello everyone! It is time for our first major contest to start. Below are the rules for this contest. Please read them carefully and follow them precisely. Thank you in advance for your participation. Should you wish to donate to the prizes offered, then please see below. Now, onto business. The object is simple, take a new photo this year, and submit it! Cake right? Well, look at the rules below and follow them, and you'll see just how easy this contest will be.

Critiquing in April + Points! Each month here at CRPhotography, we encourage you to give and get critiques and feedback for your work. Last month we had a folder opened within our Favourites to allow you to submit one piece of work that you would like some feedback on. This month we're directing you to our Critique Thread in the forums. You're encouraged to drop thumbnails to your work there rather than at the group. If you can provide feedback, you'll go into our draw at the end of the month to get some points! There are a few important rules and some guidelines to follow to ensure you get the best out of the folder and your chance to get feedback:Critiquing in April + Points!2 years ago in Art Features More Like This

Fantastic Stock and Where to find it - Feature 8 Ive been making a collection of some of the brilliant stock artists works that I have come across. It started off as stock I cant provide myself so I look for other peoples so I can suggest them. The way I choose is quite odd, when I see a stock image I have an instant image in my head of what I could do or create out of that piece of stock. The image also has to be crystal clear and easily altered.Fantastic Stock and Where to find it - Feature 84 years ago in Art Features More Like This

Just some stuff I wish you to inform you about before people start getting curious~ ♪
As you don't know, a couple months back my Math teacher caught me dozing in an *important* meeting at school, so he called my mom and complained to her about my lack of sleep at home. Since then, it's been "computer off" at 9:00, which for a night kitty like me, is extremely ridiculous and early. I've decided as of tomorrow that I was fed up with it, so I confronted my mother and we agreed on a deal. If I put more effort into my schoolwork, like finishing homework in time, and not doodling cats in class, she would consider moving my bed-time to a later period. And here's the catch- I have to be nicer and more tolerable. If you knew me, you'd know how unsocial and unpleasant I am in real life, so it's gonna be difficult.
I decided to devote myself to school a little more and be a little less active on dA until I get at LEAST a 'B' on all of my classes. Starting after the break (The w

Don't undervalue your art. Sure, you may be a novice, but that does not mean you get to sell your art for literal pennies.
The minimum wage in the US is $7.25. That means you should technically be paid about $7 for every hour of work you do. And keep in mind, $7.25 is extremely low; you can't make a living that way at all. I'd say the minimum wage you'd have to get to be able to make a living is $15, probably enough to pay for an apartment and ramen noodle meals.
But my art isn't damn worth it! THEN DON'T SELL COMMISSIONS. Really, if you think your art is so bad that you can't put a decent price on your art, then why are you doing it in the first place? Not only is it going to kill you in your later years, it's hurting the artist community. Think of it like this: some person sells their art for 100. A person goes to another artist, who sells their dr

Shout-Out ProjectThe "inspiration" idea has been somewhat altered.Shout-Out Project1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Is there a deviant that means a lot to you, someone who inspires you or is a great friend you can rely on? Were you never really sure of how to say "thank you" for what they do/have done for you?
Why not give them a shout-out?
Post a heart-felt journal (something much more in-depth than a regular feature) dedicated to them, stating what you are thankful for (or how they helped you, how much they inspire you, or just how they're an all-around amazing person), and maybe include some of their work or what they do in the community. The journal can summarize all that is awesome about them. If you have a few deviants in mind and wanted to include them in the same journal, that is perfectly fine. And please don't feel pressured to be too personal; just write what you feel comfortable with.
If you'd like to get involved but wish to remain anonymous, I will gladly take notes and post journals with what you would like

So... let's go
The main idea is the same as in previous collab was: we give the name of the song, lyrics of that very song for you to understand the plot and you create pictures, make photos or anything else on that theme. After that you send us links on your works and we make video clip with them. Under each work there will be link on your DA account. After the video is done - we'll upload it on YouTube and ONATRA Official Website. Getting the Most out of dA: CommentingUsually, when you read something involving 'Commenting', you think of deviations and the commenting platform that allows other members of the community to voice their thoughts and opinions on the art shown. However, what is pretty evident, and something that most of us may forget, is that deviantART runs on the ability to give and get comments, be it on pieces of artwork, our profile pages, forums, and everywhere else in between.Getting the Most out of dA: Commenting2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
In a sense, without the ability to give and get comments, deviantART wouldn't be much of a website, much less #1 of online art communities around. Comments are not solely the cause of what makes deviantART what it is, but it has a huge impact on a lot of things. By giving and getting comments, not only do we interact with other members to really make this a community, we also have the ability to get our voices heard.
It's quite an odd concept with us all facing screens, typing out our thoughts and opinions, but one thing we shouldn't forget is that commen
