A Pop Culture Interpretation of The Supernatural
Every culture around the world created gods and other mythical beings by mixing and matching fanged and taloned animal parts—e.g., enormous eagle heads on lions’ bodies—human beings have always seemed to need to believe there are powerful and usually quite vengeful supernatural beings lurking just beyond the candlelight.

InspirationalsI just want to say, despite the flack that DeviantArt gets for it becoming a social media site and the amount of drama interwoven within the community (that I only hear about, because I am painfully socially awkward and express seam splitting joy in other's works by obsessively favorite-ing them and worshiping them through tears)...there are a grand amount of artists who inspire me.Inspirationals11 months ago in Personal More Like This
Just take a gander at my favorites gallery. Frolic, even. Dive right in! I don't favorite these pieces simply because they may look nice. I favorite them because they made me gasp, they made me stare, they amazed me, and the capabilities of the artists simply blew me away to a point that I had to Watch them as well!
Many people look at art they deem better and at artists they deem more talented and they either get sad for themselves or jealous...or both. Me, its a mix of jealousy, awe, respect, and love that combines to make a powerful force of pure, unadulterated inspiration. These amazing

It's back! With the goal of bringing a little cheer to patients in the hospital during the holiday season, the deviantART Holiday Card Project connects deviants from around the world and applies their tremendous artistic abilities in designing and creating uplifting holiday cards.
In past years, the Project has received more than 5,000 cards sent in by more than 1,000 deviants from 50 different countries/political regions. Cards were then divvied up and distributed in-person by deviantART members to local Los Angeles hospitals, with additional cards given to various hospitals in the U.S. and abroad for hospital staff members to hand out to patients.
The idea behind the Holiday Card Project is simple: do something nice for others. However, if you're looking for even more incentive, every deviant who submits a card will be given a free one-month Premium Membership to deviantA
