This an Illustration for J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan. This is the scene when Peter is trapped on a rock, unable to fly away. A scene oddly enough which has not appeared in any film adaptation. Peter gets off of the rock, which is quickly disappearing from the tide by trading the Neverbird an old pirate hat in exchange for her nest. This is a drawing that I did a while back, and I thought it was a shame that it should be locked in a forgotten sketch book. So I scanned it in and painted it with the wonders of photoshop. Comments and the like are always welcome!
This was my secret-santa art exchange, although I don't really feel like there is much surprise to it... considering we both love Peter Pan and already know it. Perhaps I might have to make another picture that is more surprising to make up for it :$ Anyways, I could not resist! I've been on a Peter Pan craze, and just HAD to draw it!!! So why not? There's not really much of a story to this, other than this is Peter and Wendy, perhaps playing with the stars... It was inspired by 's lovely picture: [link] and an image of Disneyland Paris~ Umm, done in watercolors (but so is everything else I ever paint )!
Here's an image I painted for my sister's website. She has a section dedicated to Peter Pan and all of the various books, movies and TV series spun off from the original Barry Novel. The site is under construction, but once it's up I'll link it to this painting.
