I'm happy to present my friends who had come together to do this group cosplay! It feels surreal to me to have friends who happen to have faces who suit the characters they wanted, and appropriate height differences as well!

This is the biggest group we've attempted! There are actually a total of 15 of us with completed costumes (although not everyone was able to attend this photoshoot) and we have more friends who are going to join.

Unlike other series where the characters aren't in uniform and we could work on our costumes individually, for this one we had to get the same materials (it was sometimes hard to find a kind of fabric that would be enough for all 15 of us) and constantly meet and work together to make our uniforms consistent. In that time we had gotten frustrated (over the impracticality of Isayama's design), lost sleep, fused our fingers with cyanoacrylate, and panicked about getting everything done in time. But we also made each other laugh a lot, learned about each other, and acquired new skills together. I'm really proud of everyone! And I think that this experience gave us a better understanding of our characters, as well as ourselves. :)

The pictures in this journal post are going to get increasingly silly! So let's start!

Here's a normal composed group shot. There will be no more of this hereafter.

Relaxed and fun atmosphere during the shoot! The place is so beautiful it feels like a movie set, but my friends and I just happen to be hanging out in it. We were having a bit of a picnic at this point. We can't function without food, as always!

Obligatory "Jean is a horse" jokes even before poor Jean is finished dressing up!

One of the first things we shot (properly) was the Shiganshina trio

The new recruits partake in a little initiation and are forced to try working together to pull the officers' carriage.
Jean, don't laugh at everyone because you're used to horse duties.
Not to worry, Mikasa's got this.

The lighting kind of looks like something from a stage play, huh?

And so this happened
Shingeki no Miserables
The conflict of Javerwin and Jean Kirschtein Valjean
And the love story of Chrisette and Ymirius

I don't know, man. We just can't help these things.

All of the blondes giving a salute to MURICAAAAAAAAA

Another round of Jean-is-a-horse jokes!

Commander Erwin and Lance Corporal Levi

Another photo comic we put together :pointr:…

Incredibly posed and cheesy fake candid shot to end the photoshoot!

The shoot made us work up an intense hunger! So we ordered a lot of pizzas!

Here's us coming up with more nonsense, even without the costumes

Want to know what we were doing?

We put up a video!

:target: Kono bangumi wa...

We would also like to thank some shops that helped us a lot with our costumes! Hopefully they can make your cosplay lives a little easier as well, hahah!

:bulletred: Studio Boheme
We had our boots custom-made at Studio Boheme. Finding accurate boots was frustrating for us, so we decided to try having them made. Much to our delight, the people at Studio Boheme were actually familiar with Shingeki no Kyojin! They were awesome to work with, and our boots came out excellent! Check them out if you need your own SnK boots, any sort of custom leather things for cosplay, or even apparel for everyday life. I'll put up a detailed review of my SnK boots from them soon! (They take international orders, by the way!)

:bulletred: Den Den Style
Our jackets were made by our friends at Den Den Style! They have the most accurate SnK jackets in structure and color that we've seen anywhere so we had to have our jackets made by them! (Store is on hiatus for now but will be back in January!)

:target: Charity print sale

As I had written about a while back, my friends and I felt that maybe it was time to finally accept print requests as a means of being a fundraiser after the devastation of parts of our country from Typhoon Haiyan. We had been setting up these elaborate photoshoots recently just for fun and out of our love for the series we cosplay, but an opportunity has presented itself for us to turn them into something more meaningful.

And now our store is up! :star: :star:

Profits of our print sales will go to Typhoon Haiyan relief efforts by the Philippine Red Cross and rebuilding the affected areas by Architecture for Humanity.

NOTE! :note: Prints are for pre-order for now and will be shipped out next week because my friends and I will be in Sabah, Malaysia for HOBBYCON for several days!

:target: Thanks for reading!

Don't be afraid to leave comments because I really enjoy reading them! :D

I still have a bunch of shoots I have to share pictures from! Stay tuned!

I am able to update a lot more often on my Facebook page so please feel free to follow me there!

Story of Putting on Kneesock and Limo Prank

Journal Entry: Thu Jun 2, 2011, 11:55 PM

I get a lot of questions on how waselreins and I did the body makeup for our demon sisters cosplays. So here I'll tell ya'll how we did it, in addition to the whole story about the limo entrance. With pictures!!

On Saturday morning, I woke up at 5 AM to get ready for Kneesock. The limo was going to pick us up at 12:45 PM and I had to help the others get ready so I woke up the earliest to do as much of myself as I could. After the necessary prepping (shower/wash face/brush teeth/moisturize) I put in my contacts and wig cap first.

I used Ben Nye MagiCake Aqua Paint in red for my face and ears. I was told afterwards it's pretty bad for your skin so next time I'm gunna use Kryolan or Mehron, but for Fanime Ben Nye worked perfectly fine for me. Here's a bit more info on it here:…

Instead of water to spray onto the red makeup I used LiquiSet and a foundation brush to apply it to my face. After I painted on a couple layers to make sure it was all even, I sprayed Final Seal over my face, ears and neck. This is to make sure it doesn't smudge during the day. More info/purchasing can be found here:…

After that was over and done with I applied the rest of my makeup. I made sure to use a dark brown bronzer to contour my face so that it wouldn't show up such a flat red in photos. I applied it under my cheekbones and outlined my nose. As for lips, I thought white would look way too weird so I chose to do white liner all over my lips with a pale pink gloss over it. So it turned out a more baby pink color instead of super white. I painted on my eyebrows with Makeup Forever creme makeup in white and my eyes were a mix of pencil and liquid eyeliner with blue eyeshadow over it.

By the time I finished my face makeup it was around 6:30 AM and both waselreins and evalime came by the room to also get ready. waselreins started doing her face makeup while I set up the bodypaint.

We used PAX paint to do our bodies! We purchased 4 oz of No Tack Pros Aide adhesive (Two 2 oz bottles) and in the end used about 3 oz between the both of us. I still have about half a bottle left. More info here:…

Rather than purchase a premixed colored one, we did custom coloring which is mixing equal parts (1:1 ratio) acrylic paint with the pros aide adhesive. I just bought the cheap non toxic kind you can find at Walmart for 97 cents a bottle.

I mixed it in a plastic cup and we used cheap flat foundation brushes to paint it onto our bodies. I say cheap because these brushes will be mostly ruined by the end of it unless you clean them right away. It also helps to have friends help you since it is a realllly long process. You can get cheap $1 foundation brushes here:…

Earthbounder eventually came over about an hour later and also helped with the body painting.

The process was very long! Basically what we did was paint a body part at a time until eventually the whole body was painted in one layer. After a section (say, an arm) we'd take a blowdryer to speed up on drying.

Once that area was dry, we'd set it with baby powder. Even though the bottle says no tack, it's still very tacky and you will stick to yourself if it's not properly powdered. Once it's powdered though, it's very smooth/velvety feeling. Any areas that were still a bit sticky we'd just add more powder to it.

Here is me with one layer on except for my hands lololol. Sexy right?

My roommates got a kick out of hearing the most random things coming out of the bathroom, such as "Will you blowdry my armpits??" and "Sorry you need to paint my butt."

In the end we did 2 coats of PAX paint over ourselves and it turned out very even. As a side note, I'd recommend shaving arms/legs for this because it will hurt when you scrub it off later if it sticks to any hair!!

After the painting fiasco I had help getting into my costume by Earthbounder in his Corset mouth stretcher trolololol.

The PAX paint, once fully dried and powder, will not rub off on anything. It is like a second skin and pretty much everything proof with the exception of vinyl. We noticed that in some parts it'd peel and stick to vinyl, but even washing my hands it didn't come off. I'd scare friends wearing white by rubbing up on them ahhaha. But not to worry cause there was no smudging or staining whatsoever!

After finishing for the demon sisters we all helped Earthbounder get ready in his Corset.

We used PAX paint on his hands and Ben Nye all over his face. Here you can see our beloved Corset getting a manicure by evalime.

At first we were doing really well on time but as it came closer to pick up time we kept realizing there were more and more details to do and by the last hour we were extremely pressed for time and rushing things. Ken-Eden came over at the very end and I had to quickly restyle his Handsome Brief wig.

We had barely made it on time!! In the end it took us 6 hours to get ready with a breakfast break included. For me, it was 7 hours since I woke up 1 hour earlier than everyone else lol. We now learned from this experience that next time we need to get more brushes and probably a couple other friends to help out so that it can drastically cut down on time.

If you want to skip the limo story and see the removal of paint section, just go ahead and scroll down to the bottom!

We headed over to the Fairmont at noon to get ready for limo pickup. Our friend Monica helped us by tying up Brief bondage style lol.

There's a pretty ridiculous story to the whole limo deal. Let's backtrack a few months. About 3 months ago, we were joking around on wanting to show up to Fanime in a limo in front of the protestors that are there every year just to interrupt their protest and to make an entrance. So why not make it a reality?!?!

Yes, every year at Fanime, there are Christian zealots that like to protest and tell us how we are all sinners just because we cosplay. It's realllllly ridiculous. It isn't Westboro Church but some other group.

The original plan was to show up in a limo and make a grand entrance blasting the Demon Sisters theme song and rolling out a 15 foot red carpet in front of the protesters while being greeted by our friends posing as paparazzi and fans.

A few days before the con I made a facebook event for it to gather friends so we could get a large crowd going. It was honestly my mistake to make it a public event at first because some friends invited others that turned out to be total party poopers and reported the event to Fanime Staff thinking we were going to harass the protesters, when in reality we are just making an entrance and taking photos/having fun. It just so happens that we are doing it at the same time as the protesters....

Anyways, we didn't think anything of it then and continued with the plan. The limo company originally gave us a 6 person limo but they had to do a time change so gave us a free upgrade to a 12 person stretch limo! It was so baller inside! We invited our friend Monica, photog buddy Bigwhitebazooka, and E-D-G, who was playing our bodyguard, to come along with us for the ride. Earthbounder was too tall in his Corset that the top of the wig got smooshed and split apart from the limo roof!!

A couple friends who were out in the crowd waiting for us gave me a call and told us that Fanime staff had set up a blockade so that no one could pull in to the front unloading area. They basically got a big truck and were pretending to unload stuff to both block out the protesters and to keep our limo from pulling in.

We got worried so we had the limo driver go there anyways and to try to pull in to drop us off. It was funny, he was super chill and cool about us weirdos haha!

When we got near the loading area, we got stopped and pulled to the side by a cop. He was asking the driver if there were girls in there, and we said, "And boys!" so the cop told the driver he needed to see our faces. He pulled around and looked in the door and gave us a look, and was just like, "Oh, it's YOU guys. We were warned about you."

Basically the staff reported us to the cops saying that we were trying to attempt a counter protest so therefore the cops were being dickwads to us.

In return we politely corrected the officer saying that we just wanted to get dropped off and to have nice photos taken. He told us that we could quickly get dropped off BUT no photos, no nothing, which was total B.S.

So we had a choice to make - get quickly dropped off or go somewhere else and do a shoot. In the end, we decided to loop around one more time and to get dropped off. We decided not to do the red carpet rollout in fear of getting into huge trouble (even though we weren't doing anything wtf) but instead we slowly got out with the music blasting. Unfortunately the crowd was louder than the music so it wasn't heard. It was short and not as planned but in the end still worked! We were sad that there weren't as many protestors yet either.

It was great seeing the crowd get really excited and bum rush to the front when we pulled up in the limo - it was also pretty awesome when we came out and everyone just really started cheering for us haha! We decided to stick around a bit and snap some photos.

After that we had the limo driver go over to the Marriott hotel entrance so we could do an actual shoot with the red carpet.

There's a couple videos of the entrance I already linked but here it is again:……

and the second run through in front of the Marriott without the crowd:…

Afterwards we did a couple shoots and basically ran around until about 4 pm before getting really tired and wanting to change out. Right before changing out we ran into Ackson who wanted to do a quick shoot since he wasn't able to shoot our limo entrance. We ran into Akusesu in her hot Robin on the way and nabbed her to join us in trolling around on camera. Here's a couple awesome videos from Ackson:

You'll want to purchase a big bottle of this special remover. You'll also need help to get it off. waselreins and I basically wore swimsuits and had to scrub each others backs to get it off haha!

Anyways, I sprayed the remover all over my body and let it soak up for about 5 minutes before jumping into a hot shower. You'll also want to scrub it off using these body exfoliating gloves:

I also hear that shaving gel/cream really helps to remove the paint, but so far I used regular body wash or shampoo and it works fine.

The paint did not stain our skin and peels off like glue. It's much easier to get off the thicker layers than the thinner ones.

So yeah. That was my Saturday of Fanime!!!! Thanks for reading this wall of text LOL

When my friends and I first heard of "that swimming anime" called Free!, this is pretty much what we expected:

Not that there's anything wrong with that hahah, but all we were expecting was to be able to laugh at how exploitable and full of fanservice this show could be because swimming would require everyone to be half-naked. Although it started out that way, the more episodes we watched, the more we realized...

We were wrong. So wrong.

What we got was a heartwarming coming-of-age story with endearing characters and interesting dynamics. It spoke of friendship and learning your self-worth and figuring out what drives you forward.

I'd write more about how I feel about it but it would take up too much time and space over here, so here are a couple of posts that have already done the job well:
1. A detailed literary analysis and trope driven deconstruction of Haruka's progress throughout the story - A long read, but well worth it. Full of spoilers if you haven't seen the anime!
2. Lessons learned in Free! - Short and sweet, and also full of spoilers. Watch first!

As some of you might know, when my friends and I love a series, we feel a great need to cosplay it. So this happened:

Another thing about my friends is that our shoots are 90% outtakes. And that's what this journal post is for. Hahah!

Some of the crack related to this shoot started days before we had it.

A day before the shoot, I was walking around the mall on the way to a meeting and a guy picks me out of a crowd of people to give me this. He said, "You look like the kind of person who suits this." and I'm just like WHAT HARU STOP CONSUMING MY SOUL

On the morning of the shoot, my life turned into…

This was a funny photo session before the real shoot, which started with Miguel asking me for permission to change clothes in another room. I was like "Yeah, I'll lead you there." Our fujoshi friends (who happened to be two of the photogs for the day) perked up and were like, "Change? Room? Can we go with you guys? With our cameras?" Hilarity ensued.

Best friends know just what to say
to make things really awkward

Miguel was my headcanon for Makoto since I started watching the anime, so it made me happy when he said that Mako was his favorite. Also that a lot of you have also been commenting on how much he looks like a real-life Makoto. (That's how he acts towards me so I can't help my perception being a little biased, hahah)

It's funny how we weren't even fully dressed yet but when I started working on his wig, we could hear our friends snapping away with their cameras already. Miguel was like, "What a nostalgic feeling, eh?"

Angles are important. Our friends are true fujoshi photographers. Fujographers, even.

When I saw this top shot I was like "WHEN DID WE-" Then after I saw the pictures that followed, I realized it was from the time I was fixing Miguel's wig.

This is what actually happened.
Kat neko-panigiri you have trolled me well done.

Kat and Charmie got "inspired" when we were doing the wig-styling and composed this shot.

I started posting some pictures on my Facebook page (Feel free to follow if you want more instant and frequent updates!) and this thread happened on one of the photos

The real reason we went here was so that we could be...

And now for some previews of future shoots

I attended a convention last month in which I was tremendously spoiled by shops with Free! merchandise

Hatah Hatah gave me this awesome Iwatobi Swim Club shirt (Iwatobi-chan Secret Version!) and also this Iwatobi-chan hat!

That is Haru's game face don't laugh

And then Cotton Candy Shirts gave me and my friends the shirts they were wearing in the Splash Free ED! We'll definitely be doing those versions now!

Free! may have ended and we'll have to make our own "water time" for now, but I'm really thankful for that anime and the people who watched it and drowned in the tsunami of Free!lings and emoceans with me. I know the series hit me hard because I have bonds that made me identify so much with the characters. What swimming is for them, cosplay is to us. It's something that brought us together and we continue to share because it's something we enjoy with each other. Even though cosplay is by nature something fun and silly, it's able to inspire and cause a lot of emotions, it leads to us meeting friends we will come to treasure, it gives us chances to learn things about ourselves, and sometimes our bonds are tested but with the right people it ultimately brings you closer together no matter what. :cheese: :cheese: :cheese: :cheese: :cheese:

To end this on a funnier note, I was laughing so much at people on Facebook shipping me and Miguel as Haru and Makoto and calling it their cosplay OTP. It got me imagining us saying Makoto and Haru's lines like

"Cosplay is meaningless without you!"

"That was how I remembered how it felt to cosplay the same series together... It made me... just as happy!!"

HAHAHA I am so done 。゚(TヮT)゚。

Okay no I'm not

Here I am trying to get over the Free! finale, and I look outside and see that the sky is perfectly...
Ever Blue

Now I'm done

2011 cosplay review + 2012 plans!

Journal Entry: Fri Feb 17, 2012, 3:16 AM

I realise this is, umm, rather late to be doing a wrap-up of last year's cos, but I've never done one of these composite pics before and I kinda wanted to XD

So here's a compilation of all the shoots I did in 2011!

All of these photo sets can be found here:

Hmm, there seem to be rather a lot XD;; And so far this year, since coming back from Japan in January, I've done 10 photoshoots! 8D Here's looking forward to another year full *3*

I don't have any concrete convention plans at this stage, except that I will be cosing UtaPri to SMASH! with kaguyaxhime to sell our photobook!

Other than that, here are the cosplays I have planned for this year (at this stage, subject to innumerable changes no doubt XD)

- Shinomiya Natsuki (Uta no Prince-sama) – various – for 'Resonance' photobook
- Alibaba Saluja (Magi)
- Ichinose Tokiya (UtaPri)
- Takasugi Shinsuke (Gintama)
- Jinguuji Ren (UtaPri)
- Barnaby Brooks Jnr (Tiger & Bunny)
- Judal (Magi)
- Yoshiwara Anri (Adekan)
- Natsume Takashi (Natsume Yuujinchou)
- Roy Mustang (Fullmetal Alchemist)
- Athrun Zala (Gundam SEED)
- Gilbert Nightray (Pandora Hearts)
- Lucifer (Angel Sanctuary)
- Watanuki Kimihiro (xxxHolic)
- Gauche Suede (Tegami Bachi)
- Mudou Setsuna (Angel Sanctuary)
- Tom Marvolo Riddle (Harry Potter)
- Fay D. Flourite (Tsubasa RC)
- Märchen von Friedhof (Märchen - Sound Horizon)
- Dietrich von Lohengrin (Trinity Blood)
- Gintoki Sakata (Gintama)
- Hijikata Toushirou (Gintama)
- Ichimoku Ren (Jigoku Shoujo)
- Nezumi (No.6)
- Suou Tamaki (Ouran HS Host Club)
- VOCALOID – various

Quite a few of these, I have already sewn and just need photoshoots done - Ichinose Tokiya, Jinguuji Ren (shooting both these guys tomorrow, in fact!), Roy Mustang, Athrun Zala, Gilbert Nightray - so there's room for more, which is good because I inevitably add things on a whim as soon as a find a cool character I like :XD:

Hope you guys look forward to them!

Generation of Miracles casual outfit portraits
(Added on November 7)

Not everyone's Teiko uniforms are ready just yet, but we wanted to get a feel of things for the proper shoot so we did this for practice. It gave us a chance to try out our wigs and makeup and junk to see what we need to improve on for our actual cosplays. :)

Outtakes below!

Halloween shoot outtakes and crack photos
During this year's Halloween, my friends and I got together to do a cosplay shoot for a series that we're really into right now Kuroko no Basket. It's quite a popular series now, and as fans ourselves, we can see why. So we're not surprised so many others are crazy about it too. More on this perhaps when we have proper photos to show.

Something I look forward to in the manga are the omake at the end of the chapters. So right now, I'll be sharing our outtakes from the shoot. The whole lot of us are just goofballs

Okay, a relatively decent group shot first! Showing actual height differences! (Although the people at the back are much taller than they seem here hahah)

Rewind to the earlier parts of the day!

Not all of our uniforms are ready, so Aki Hana181 and I just got a few shots with what we had to test them out.

Here is my yearbook portrait as Akashi
Teiko Yearbook: Seijuro Akashi by behindinfinity
(Click thumbnail to enlarge)

I actually did need to style Aki's wig, so this happened. (Thank you Cass cazzu-chan for taking these photos!)

Kuroko and Akashi had very similar hairstyles in middle school, right? This is my theory as to how that came to be :XD:

And then when we went to scout the basketball court area, I got this stupid idea for a comic thing inspired by a meme. I got a bad bruise from boxing training, so I figured we might as well make use of it for something funny

Inspired by this meme :pointr:…

It was a fun challenge trying to copy Akashi's homicidal glare

:note: And since people often ask, my lenses (as well as all my other Generation of Miracles friends' lenses) are from Alice and Rabbit's Shop. I'm using the Red Prescription Lens (phased out) and Crystal Max Lenses in Brown (it's actually golden brown).

Here's the development of that bruise in the photos above. Bruise Lee. :| This is what Dom named the bruise he (accidentally?) gave me during training, as I mentioned. We weren't even sparring or anything yet. I bruise like a fruit. Don't worry though, it looks worse than it feels!

When the rest of our friends arrived, we changed into our casual outfits and helped each other prep up. And then, on to the night shoot!

Halloween-themed portrait that I took of Aruki dancingontightrope as Aomine who has mistaken a jack-o-lantern for a basketball. Hahah! The red eyes were not edited; that's reflected light from the jack-o-lantern. As for the light source for the lantern it came from Midorima who is crouching somewhere below, pointing a flashlight at it to make it glow

A snapshot I took when Marko Happy-Hario was shooting. This is what happens behind the scenes when we don't bring stands and stuff, hahah! Human assistants to the rescue! The flash and diffuser had to be held up quite high, so Mark / Murasakibara (who actually does tower over all of us) handled those. Dom is sitting by the side, using a stick to help balance the basketball in Aruki's grip. :XD:

Marko's masterpiece the most in-character portrait of Tetsuya Kuroko

The reject shots from poses which involve us throwing balls can be pretty hilarious
We took turns captioning this in between fits of laughter
Dom said, "This is the last thing you will see before an Ignite Pass hits you"
Marko said, "Kuroko wa Basket....ball"
and also, "Kuroko loves basketball so much he dressed up as one for Halloween"

After we pulled off the Halloween junk, we just wanted some random snapshots for Facebook and whatever, so we huddled together for Marko. We didn't realize Tsunderima wanted to join too.

Towards the end of the night, we were ravenously hungry so we headed over to Chuck's Deli for dinner.

When I'm around my friends, they inspire me to make them cringe with corny puns. We were all just waiting for our food when I had the urge to parody some of Akashi's famous lines, which you'll see in the photo sequence below. Charmie managed to document it, hahahah.

(People who read the manga will get the reference)
HAHAHAH I do kind of want to hit myself
If we ever do a Seirin group, I call dibs on Izuki because he is my pun bro

Aki was facepalming beside me as that was happening and when I was done, shook me and went, "CAPTAINNNN WHY ARE YOU SO CORNYYYYYY"

Aruki snapped this photo of me and Aki
Kuroko and Akashi twin haircuts!
We were using a purikura app on Charmie's phone, working very hard on our masterpiece, which is...

Hipster Kuroko!
The Emperor's new clothes!
Kawaii poop head Kise!
Momoi and Aomine both with items stolen from Barbie's wardrobe
I don't even know what we did to Midorima hahahah

And I leave you to process that image.
Until next time!

Sasuke's Picture Diary

Tue Apr 16, 2013, 9:24 PM
Leave comments to keep me company?

I am about to spend the next 6 hours or so sewing and painting to finish up costumes and then packing for an adventure. I will soon after leave for the trip and it's going to take a while to get to where I'm going to it'd be great if you leave comments to keep me company on the way there! I'll be reading and replying as much as possible! :D

Team Sasuke at Ozine Fest Day 3

So here are pictures from our day out last Sunday! Some are from my phone, others are from Facebook friends (Thanks, Jannibee and Benelyn!) and people who have sent me snapshots over Twitter!

Let's start with a group shot! Our theme was Sasuke and his teachers (and his flirt of an alternate universe self from Road to Ninja)

12 year-old pre-Shippuden Sasuke Jin :iconbehindinfinity:
older Swagsuke/Charasuke from the Road to Ninja movie Miguel :iconmerkymerx:
Hatake Kakashi Dom :iconweakman:
Orochimaru Markee :iconshinobimarkee:

On my Facebook page, I had posted wig progress like I usually do before cons or shoots. Here are some progress shots of my progress for Kakashi. It started out as a somewhat flat, chin-length wig.

I had also been styling a new Naruto wig (my old one had needed to retire), and a Sasuke wig. I guess people assumed I would be Naruto as usual, hahah.

Related post: new Naruto wig in action during our viewing of the Road to Ninja movie:
Revisiting Naruto cosplay + Road to Ninja Movie! So I've heard of this film for a long while, but never got to watch it for lack of a proper subbed copy/DVD release. (There was that Korean dubbed one that some people watched online, but Naruto has my favorite Japanese voice acting so I didn't want to watch it any other way!)
Sometime last month, some happy news reached our shores Road to Ninja would be showing at our local cinemas!! I know it's been a while since its first release but I'm glad I waited before resorting to well, less legal ways of watching it! Hahah! Here is a stupid rap I wrote and slapped on a manga panel:
Would Killer Bee be proud of me? HAHAH
Premiere Night!
I had the honor of being invited to the special advanced screening at Director's Club before it hit the cinemas! Major thanks to Ica and Movie Punch for having us over!
I dressed up as Minato (the Fourth Hokage) and Marien dressed up as

Duckbutt hair is fun
(And a guy is getting a peek at Kakashi-sensei's true face)

Marko Happy-Hario cosplaying as Masashi Kishimoto HAHAH

I was not aware that we were asked to pose for pictures in front of a backdrop of cupcakes and ice cream.

As much as I enjoy being Naruto, it was a nice change of pace to be Saucekay.

Although for most of the day I tried to keep my facial expression more Sasuke-like, I couldn't help smiling when this little guy came up to me

Sasuke's picture diary

Dear diary,
Today my teachers took me on a day out.

Kakashi-sensei brought me to Jamba Juice before Chidori training. Because he says that to call upon A Thousand Birds (Chidori), you must fill your body with fruit.

We made a detour before proceeding with training.
Kakashi-sensei, you are going to get us killed.

Chidori training begins! Kakashi-sensei taught me Chidori today, with the help of Mr. Stark. I'm not sure if he was alright in the end...

I also got the chance to learn from foreign people like Daenerys Targaryen and Khal Drogo

Khal Drogo taught me about being the stallion who mounts the world

Ib and Garry taught me about art.

I went to a cafe with Orochimaru. He had me drink more milk to grow big and strong. (There is a joke I could make about sucking but I'll keep it in my head)

I got to spend time with my older self. I'm not sure how to feel about him.

He may be just as bad as Kakashi-sensei

I can't seem to finish my drink without interruptions

I think it had some sort of effect because everyone was like

I wonder if it would have been different if they got a good look at the bag I was carrying. You're judging me too, aren't you? It was a gift from the nin-cats who serve my clan!

Kakashi-sensei treated me to dinner after a long day.
He was unmasked but my hair covered the view of his face.

Practical application of Katon Goukakyuu no Jutsu: PASS!

"Usuratonkachi, look at what's for dinner when you're not around"

(I think it's time to pull a frame from our most recent Naruto shoot)

"They're... having ramen without me..."

Follow me on Facebook

If you'd want more little updates from me as they happen, feel free to follow me on Facebook!

I usually post pictures from my phone when we're out derping around in cosplay, hahah! And a lot of that is going to be happening this week!

-----I felt that having Reader-chan being a male would be better for the plot in the story. .3. Enjoy!----

The sound of thunder had awoken you from your sleep. You looked up, seeing yourself in your dim-lighted office. you sighed as you noticed the stacks of paperwork next work. You raised both of your hands, wanting to rub your eyes out from the lack of sleep. You took notice of the older blonde male across from you, also doing some paperwork. You groaned as you still had hours before you even finish the tiring work.

Commander Erwin looked up at you, showing off his emotionless face. You have gotten used to the blank staring, everyday, you and Erwin would be sitting in your office and doing paperwork. Reading through articles and organizing battle techniques against the Titans. You had to admit, even with your kind of intelligence, there would always be times where you were always such a klutz.

No matter what day or hour, you always find yourself making mistakes. such as organizing the papers wrong, giving out the opposite orders,or even just accidentally spilling coffee all over Commander Erwin. After many years of you and Erwin being acquaintances, he had grown to love this way about you. Although it may not seem like a possibility, the blonde Commander was always impressed by your doings.

"I'm tired..." You muttered quietly, not wanting to have Commander Erwin scold you with his annoying lectures about finishing the paperwork.

"What was that, Captain (y/n)?" Erwin said, his voice monotone.

You sighed deeply, even if you told him you said nothing, you knew later he would start bothering you about it.

"I said, I'm tired. All of this paperwork is going to take me longer than w hole day to finish." You whispered, not giving a care in the world.

Commander Erwin stood up, slowly walking towards you. You began to slowly lay back against the cushioned chair more, staring at him with wide eyes. You knew he was going to pull on your (h/l) (h/c) hair, he always did so when you complained. But instead, he did the unthinkable. Erwin gently grabbed the back of your nape with his calloused hand, he then lightly pecked you on the forehead.

A red tint stained your cheeks as he removed the warmth of his lips away. You stared at him in awe, your (e/c) eyes staring at him, shocked.

"You can go to bed, I can finish this work, ok? And don't worry, I'll join you soon." Erwin looked down at you, giving off sly grin.

"Na-nani?!" You stuttered out, your cheeks radiating millions of shades of pink.

Erwin just sighed and chuckled a bit, taking note how cute you looked flustered. He lifted you up from the chair, holding you bridal-style. He then proceeded to carry you all the way to your bedroom. Of course, you never knew that the blonde holding you always had a soft side to him. But, you liked it. You enjoyed this side of him.

----Asdfghjkl; Hope you liked it<3----

Saw this floating about Tumblr. As far as hilarious instances of theft goes, this is the motherload. A particularly colorful individual decides to steal art on video, not only claiming other people's OC's as their own, but also putting "my crappy art" in the video description. Funny how that "crappy" art was apparently attractive enough for them to steal.
(Protip: if you're going to commit art theft, next time make sure you at least steal from artists who aren't widely recognized on the web and popular art web sites).……

Jin's Flower Wreath Process
Sometime last May, Kat moonlightflight and I cosplayed our favorite Vocaloid song, "Just Be Friends".

Their outfits seem simple at a glance, but that actually makes things more complicated sometimes. Hahah. Despite Luka's dress looking like something you could probably find in a mall, Charmie yaoiangel14 made the dress from scratch exactly as it looked in the artwork, just for Kat moonlightflight. Kat and I also did our best with the part of their outfits that had the most amount of detail (which also happens to be our favorite parts) — the flower wreaths.

I have some pictures of the progress of my wreath, so I thought I'd share them. This probably isn't the best method of going about this, but this is how I did mine and I found it pretty easy. (I wish I could have taken more photos or a video, but to be honest I wasn't quite sure I'd pull this off at first. Hahah!)

The first step for me was shopping for materials. I looked at the artwork closely to get an idea of what kind of flowers and leaves I should keep an eye out for. Here's a little breakdown:

1. The main pieces were the red roses. I noted that some had a magenta tinge, while others had a more orange tint. I was lucky enough to find a bundle with both, and in the right stage of blooming (open, but not fully bloomed).

2. As for the leaves, I noticed they were tear-shaped and were a mix of several green shades. Light green, forest green, and olive green mainly.

3. For some little extra touches, I noticed there were small bunches of peach-colored blossoms. I couldn't find some quite like the ones in the illustrations, but I did have these berry-like things that gave a similar visual effect from a distance.

4. Another little extra detail I mixed in were these tiny splashes of light yellow-green.

Here is half of my flower haul. They were from the home section of SM Department Store.

A better look at the flower bunch

And here are the leaves

I also used these green craft wires. They're just really thin wires with a green paper covering. I got this at the crafts section of my usual office supply store (National Bookstore).

The wires are really thin so I started out by braiding three pieces for a slightly more stable base. It didn't have to be neat, because I will be adding a lot more stuff on top of it, and it won't really show in the final wreath.

The wires weren't very long so I just kept adding to the ends by braiding and twisting more wire. Again, it didn't need to be neat. I did that until I got the estimated length I needed. I didn't close it up just yet because I wanted to fit it around my neck after putting the flowers on. (Sorry, I forgot to take pictures of this stage! I was in the zone hahaha)

I cut off the flowers from their bunches, leaving about this much allowance on the stem so I could twist it onto the wreath. I didn't have specific measurements. Whatever felt right, really.

Same with the leaves.
Aren't my scissors great? The advantage of having something SO BLOODY KAWAII YO is that nobody ever tries to steal it. It would be easy to spot and I'd be like HEY MAN, THOSE ARE MY SCISSORS, MAN.

Here's how I attached the flowers and leaves to the braided base. I basically just held the stem against the base ring, and twisted more wire around them to keep them together. I made sure to push the ends in to avoid them potentially poking my neck.

To ration my main roses and make sure I had enough, I started by distributing the biggest roses around the ring.

It's starting to come together!

After I had positioned the main roses, I added in the smaller bits to fill up the gaps.

Soon, I had this.

After the flowers and leaves had been put in place, I brought out the floral tape. You can get these at office/craft/art supply stores too. It feels like thin stretchy fabric and the adhesive is very mild but adequate. You just have to keep winding it around itself tightly and pinching around it to secure the hold.

I just wrapped them around parts where the base braid was showing, and around everything else I possibly could.

This helps keep everything together and make everything look generally neater. But I wasn't quite finished at this point and it doesn't look very neat at all in the picture.

After a couple of hours of patience and some WIZARD MAGIC
Finished flower wreath! Cue fanfare!

And here's how it looks when worn:

Our flower wreaths weren't completely 100% accurate because the scale of the available flowers was bigger than it looks in the artwork, but we worked with what we had and were happy with what we made. I actually like the larger scale because it makes the wreaths stand out more. It also felt very rewarding that people came up to us to ask about how we made them or just express their appreciation. :) I hope this was helpful!

I'll be creating more designs over the next several months :D If you like, comment to let me know what you'd like to see!

I miss updating DA!
Yet again, sorry I seem to have disappeared from deviantART! I really like to take my time when I update this page, and lately I just haven't had much time to do that. There are so many things that need to be done, that sometimes it's almost maddening. I say almost because a lot of these things are far from unpleasant, but I so often end up wishing there were hours in a day so I could make time for everything!

Apart from the incoming updates from the things I'm currently working on (new costumes, shoots, paintings and Tuxessories!) I actually still have a backlog of updates piled up that I need to post. Despite being very late, I will exert more effort to get them out here so they don't end up forgotten. So for the nth time, I apologize that I haven't been able to reply to you guys. It's just that I feel like if I start responding to someone, I need to do it for everyone or I'll feel bad about it. But I do my best to read all your comments and stuff, and I sincerely do appreciate everything! :thanks:

Hakuouki -Calendar'10- vid and review!

Journal Entry: Sat Jan 29, 2011, 8:32 AM
 • Mood: Thanks
 • Listening to: Megurine Luka & Gumi - speed
I can't believe I managed to procrastinate a good half year before writing this review. What made me get down to writing this was a refreshing memory from the day of the event itself.. Video taken and edited by elpheal, our dear local 'paparazzi'! Thank you for your hard work!…

The video is a put together of how Jesuke and I made our costumes, like a mini tutorial and interview. Do visit thecosplaychronicles.blogspot.… for her many helpful tutorials and reviews!

In support, I uploaded a second shot taken by :iconrescend:'s awesome 'cinematic' shot.
Killing is... by LennethXVII

Do stay tuned for the rest of my teammates! We will finally be having our shoot, guys!

Chizuru Yukimura 雪村千鶴 : melo-01

Harada Sanosuke 原田佐之助 ashteyz
Todo Heisuke 藤堂平助 Cvy
Nagakura Shinpachi 永倉 新八 : keixtique69
Chikage Kazama 風間千景 : ohonigiri

Moving on to the review on that day..

Starting with a rough summary. Since forming the team for our traditional Hakuouki costumes, I had always wanted Kanasaiii to join us once again for the Calendar version of Hijikata but countless times, she would reject me. Due to the difficulty of dyeing the gradient on his hakama, lack of funds, interest and would rather do other series. We are best friends, so naturally, I was upset, although respecting her decision. Later, I was told by ashteyz that we have a coser named.. N-..NN..omg I forgot. Nelly? whatever. joinging us as Hijikata. Despite that, I continued to relentlessly grill Kanasaiii to still cosplay Hijikata. But she never agreed to in the end, so I disappointingly gave up.

I was annoyed at this girl who was gonna be our Hijikata. Because she never did come for our team discussion meetings, and was even late turning up for the event. But when she finally came...

The video is for friends only on fb so I screencapped..

keixtique69 turned almost immediately to see how I reacted!

...and followed by a roar of laughter TwT

Really, I was just STUNNED.

Kanasaiii as Hijikata Toshizo.

...everyone was laughing!

I was speechless and finally, senses hit me and I knew I was pranked.

Embarrassed. Amused. Speechless. And....

....amusingly annoyed!!

They were like... SUCCESS!! WOOOO!!!!!

It was not very manly, but I cried. Happy tears of course. Thank you all for bringing me such a dear memory to my heart, especially to Kanasaiii who suffered a lot of verbal abuse, tantrums and tried so hard to keep it a secret from me.

Apparently! She gave her thumbs up to cosplay Calendar Hiji even before me. OTL And decided to 'get back' at me for the same prank I did to her 4 years ago. XD

.....Thank you..
