Fridericus Rex english translationFridericus Rex english translation3 years ago in Songs & Lyrics More Like This
Fridericus Rex (latin for König Friedrich = King Friedrich, the Old Fritz)
Fridericus Rex, our king and master,
he called all of his soldiers to arms;
two hundred battalions and almost one thousand squadrons,
and each grenadier gets sixty cartridges.
"You damned guys," His Majesty said,
"Each one must stand his ground in the battle!
They grudge me owning Silesia and the county of Glatz
and the hundred millions of my treasure."
"The empress has allied with the French,
and the [Holy] Roman Empire revolts against me;
the Russians have invaded Prussia;
let us show we are brave subjects!"
"My General Schwerin and Field Marshal von Keith
and Major General von Ziethen are ready anyway,
damn bloody hell
upon anyone still not knowing Fritz and his soldiers!"
Farewell now, L[o]uise, wipe your face!
Not every bullet hits!
If every bullet easily hit its man,
where would the kings get their soldiers from?
The musket's bullet makes a small hole;
the cannonball makes an even larger one;

Into the Balkans
With the Italian forces annihilated by the British the Germans were now put into a tough position. Adolf Hitler would now have to decide to either abandon Benito Mussolini and his ambitions for Italy even if it was his most powerful ally or he could help them in the Balkans and Africa. He decided to help and now prepared a campaign into the Balkans. The five Balkan nations were Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia, and Greece. Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria were already allied with Hitler and were in the Axis. However, a revolution had turned the pro-German government in Yugoslavia into a pro-British one. Its neighbor Greece was also pro-British so in April 1941 500,000 German troops invaded Yugoslavia and Greece. This would be the beginning of Germany getting stuck into Mussolini's ambitious dreams of recreating the Roman Empire and would force them to send forces that could have been used in Operation Barbarossa to other places instead.
Nevertheless, the Balkans Ca

In blizzard or storm,
Or in sun warm and bright,
The day hot as hell
Or bone-chilling be the night,
Our faces may with dust be laid,
But spirits never fade,
No, never fade;
Relentless, our tank
Thunders out on a raid.
With engines a-howling,
Fast as is the wind,
We head for the foe,
Safe, as we're in armor skinned.
Our comrades still behind us roam;
We fight the foe alone,
Yes, fight alone.
We stab through the line
To break the foes backbone.
Whenever the foe
May appear in our sight,
We'll ram throttle full,
Then we'll humble all his might!
Of what use is our life if we
Our country serve freely?
Yes, serve freely!
To die for our country,
Our honour shall be.
With tank traps and mines,
Our foe tries to impede.
We laugh at his ruses;
We know he'll not suceed.
And when, in threat, his cannons stand,
Half hidden in the sand,
Yes, in the sand,
We can find our way
Over much safer land.
And should at long last,
Fickle Lady Luck leave,
And we remain here,
Leaving family to grieve,
A bullet wit

My business works because it's actually not a business. And by this I mean I hardly make any money with my pictures. For me photography is not a way to make money but to invest money, and I work several other jobs to be able to pay for my art. I'm a tour guide on waste to energy plants and wastewater treatment facilities, I'm a concierge at the house I'm living, I work as a Photoshop instructor and on weekends I take care of the library of the University.
Sometimes people say to me: I can hardly believe you're not making money with your photos because they are better than the work of many professional photographers.
Of course it's flattering when somebody says something like that even if I don't always agree. But here's the thing: the very reason why I'm able to work on this level is because I don't have to make money with my pictures. If you're a photographer who wants to make a living out of it you are forced to do things differently. You have to focus on what your customers like and

Everybody. Fall in!
We are marching in rank and row.
Everybody. Fall in!
Do you know the radio-operators-song?
It´s about the radio messaging,
and about love as well.
Everybody cheerfully join in the singing!
Sing along comrades!
In the small town,
lives a girl,
and we all love her so much,
because she has two blue eyes.
Blonde hair, seventeen years,
say what more do we want?
As we are from the radio-operators company,
and we always send out: I love - I love you.
And all the girls are listening to it:
Dee dah dee dit, dee dah dee dit ("L"ove)
Although the service is tough,
and the carbine hurts,
we do never despair.
Whether the hand is aching,
or the sand is crunching,
the sweat is running down the face.
Then a song strucks up,
through the rank and through the row,
Everybody cheerfully join in the singing!
Sing along comrades!
In the small town,
lives a girl,

"It's alright Garrus; you're on the Normandy II, built by Cerberus. Shepard is in command, alive and well."
He was so confused and was drowsy from the meds.
"It's a long story Garrus. When you are feeling better you should find Shepard she'll do a better job of explaining everything. Bottom line is you're alive and Shepard is back."
Shepard is back. The words resonated deep within him. He allowed himself to fall back asleep; knowing the sooner he recovered the sooner he could speak to Shepard.

As once the sun of peace shines again for us.

And touch again the drum

In front of the barracks,
In front of the main gate,
Stood a lamppost,
If it still stands out front,
So will we see each other there again,
By the lamppost we'll stand,
As before, Lili Marleen.
Our two shadows
Looked like one.
That we were so much in love,
Anyone could see at a glance.
And everyone will see it,
When we stand by the lamppost,
As before, Lili Marleen.
Already called the guard,
"They're blowing taps.
That could cost you three days!"
"Comrade, I'll be right there."
Then we said farewell,
How much would I have rather gone with you,
With you, Lili Marleen.
It knows your footsteps,
Your beautiful walk.
It burns every evening,
Although it forgot me long ago.
And if a mishap should befall me,
Who will stand by the lamppost,
With you, Lili Marleen?
Out of the silent space,
Out of the depths of the earth,
Lifts me as in a dream
Your beloved mouth.
When the nocturnal mists swirl,
I will be standing by the lamppost,
As before, Lili Marleen.

We continued on to the gathering of men. Everyone was trying to find their company. I saw a man from D wander around. Another was looking for Lieutenant Meehan. In fact, everyone was looking for Meehan.

So, while he waited for the bricks he used to sleep in to be turned into a "Ralph Sized" home, he slept at the top of the apartment building- his favorite spot.
There hadn't been much to move into the apartment. A few boxes filled with random chords and sundry, another few boxes brimming with memorabilia from his game jumping. He'd placed his Hero's Duty medal (found by Felix during a romantic moonlit walk with Calhoun in the Niceland woods) on a bookshelf. The thing wasn't really that much of a weigh

This chapter takes place during events of 'The Promise,' so if you have yet to read it, a lot of the context won't make complete sense. Since there is a certain plot-ish kind of point that I think is a big deal for the story I want to tell, I've copied some dialogue from the comic to make sure this device is made apparent, while also adding in extra narrative and dialogue around existing pieces from the comic. A lot of these earlier chapters are directly connected to scenes from the series, but most chapters for this series will not follow that format.
