Art That Stirred Me 6I guess its time to kick my butt and get another feature done. I had very rough couple months and needed to put myself together. Between potty training my two year old, studying for NAPLAN tests with my 11 year old and tending to 10 month old, I have revamped my study I share with my husband, made new desks out of doors, put shelves in, name it - it got done. I have pretty bussy life. I get up around 4:30-5am and keep running like wild woman with kids grabbing my legs till they are in never land by 7pm. I wipe ones behind, breast feed another one, chase after third one not wanting to do her math, schedule dermatologist appointments for 2 youngest ones and husband and have to escort them all between doctors. I feel like pulling my hair out on good day. I have baby puke and piss all over me mixed with paints and whatever baby mush I made for the day that youngest one decided to hurl on me. I go to sleep usually by 8:30 pm and wake upArt That Stirred Me 68 months ago in Personal More Like This

The Aluminum (Papercraft Commentary)All right, so it looks like the SCAR is complete. It has more material in it so it's a bit heavier than the other models. The construction process is also more difficult. The Aluminum (Papercraft Commentary)2 years ago in Personal More Like This
While the next iteration of the AR is still a long way off, I've uploaded a couple of improved parts for it, such as some digitized sights, and a new delta ring that should solve the wobble problem. All of these and some combo packages can be found on the AR's main page.
In response to requests for PDF versions, you can get PDF's of the NSP black with suppressor and the PDF of the AKM.. The 1911 main page has been updated with
Wolf/Werewolf Anatomy Tutorial!Boy was this the most requested thing in the previous poll, and... I think, ever. I can't count how many times a week I'm asked the basics of werewolf anatomy (or anthro anatomy in general), so, I tried to cover the basics in this tutorial. Other things such as the body torso/face areas, no tutorial for them, I'd just say follow a human upper body torso, and for the head, you know me, try to make it as accurately close to the real thing (the animal you're drawing).Wolf/Werewolf Anatomy Tutorial!4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Hope this video is helpful, and I'll be working on another tutorial here tomorrow!

First of all I would like to thank everyone who partook in the lottery. I am glad that so many of you liked the idea and decided to share few sweet words with your friends. I read some of your conversations in comment section and wow, some of them were so intense (like, really intense - wow guys get a room LOL OR JUST MARRY HER ALREADY, GEEZ :icondumbledorenoplz.
It took me a while to choose the winners, since there was a number of participants that wasn't viable for the lottery, either because of not fulfilling the primary rules (being my watcher; account has to be at least 2 months old) or not following the two mandatory steps (for example, comment under this journal).
In any case I finally managed to properly choose the random winners and here are the lucky three participants!

THE WINNER WILL BE ANNOUNCED TOMORROW!
I've gained a lot of new watchers recently, but I haven't really done any give-aways any more since ... more than a year?
I figure now is the time to rectify this by doing a free icon-raffle!
I will be raffling off an icon like this:
The icon can be of any character of yours you want it to be.
You're basically winning a free icon-commission.
How many will I be raffling off?
That depends on how many people enter. For now, I'm raffling off 1 icon.
Should more than 250 people enter, I'll be raffling off a second icon.
And in the unlikely event that 500 people are to enter, I will be raffling off a third icon.RULES
- You have to be a watcher for your entry to be valid. After all, I'm doing this as a thank-you for the support I've received from you guys. <3
- Faving this journal is one entry.
QuantificationQuantificationQuantification2 years ago in Personal More Like This
One of the things I hate about the internet is that everything must be quantifiable. Without a proper source, no one will believe you, no matter how reliable your original info was when you received it. It doesn't matter if you heard it from a professor giving a lecture in college, if you read it in a book, read a report by a scientist, or saw a documentary that went into elaborate detail... if there isn't an internet equivalent, then you're seen as a compulsive liar.
Case in point, recently someone mentioned that my sketches look better than my finished artwork and I responded by telling them that there was science that helped back up why that phenomenon exists. But since I couldn't remember the source, I got trolled hardcore for saying that. Today, however, I stumbled upon a close enough equivalence. Here's a quote:
The sketchiness of line art mimics the natural lack of clarity in our peripheral vision. When we look at the real wo
Documentary 'Die Deutschen'Hi there,Documentary 'Die Deutschen'2 years ago in Personal More Like This
I wanted to share the best german history documentary from the 8th to the 20th century I know at the moment. It´s called Die Deutschen (The Germans),
and was produced by the ZDF (Second German Television). They show the german history in every episode with one main person, and there are 20 episodes in 2 seasons. They do not focus on the second world war, but on the over thousand years old history before. Sadly you will find this movies only in German here:
And on Youtube:
But for all who understand German or just wanna see the scenes, which are very nice too, can have a look at it.

5 Art Selling TipsWhile I used to see "art sales" simply as bonus money coming in on the side, over the past few years it's become enough of an asset that it justifies an art dealer, record keeping, insurance, and taxes at the end of each year. It's currently 25% of my total income, and that has a lot of impact over my work. And just like storytelling, design and page flow--abstract principles that keep my career afloat daily--art sales also deserve to be studied, theorized, and understood.5 Art Selling Tips3 years ago in Personal More Like This
These are guidelines, not rules. And while most of them usually work for me, they might not all work for you, so keep in mind that my market might be different than yours. Because not only do we not draw the same, we probably have different sorts of buyers.
1. Don't stay on a book for too long
I find that doing mini series of 4-12 issues is optimal for selling art. If you spend a year doing one-shots or 2-3 issue minis, you'll be hard for buyers to keep track of because it's too infrequent. And it's hard to make an i
Do YOU want to sell prints? One mistake you make.Hi people!Do YOU want to sell prints? One mistake you make.4 years ago in Personal More Like This
Today it is a short journal without photos, sorry.
I would like to give you one important advice, so I hope it can be still useful
I see many people try to sell prints here. And they are often sad they have not sold anything yet.
But at the same time I see they do the same mistake. So:
HOW PEOPLE TRY TO SELL THEIR WORK AS A PRINT?
1. you took a photo (drew a picture). It is nice, so you want to post it as a deviation.
2. you edit it. Making it sharper, more colourful, adding contrast, CHANGING a size to some 850x600px, for example.
3. you post it as a deviation.
4. you look at your deviation and think "hm, it looks pretty cool! Maybe somebody can buy it. I will allow it as a print."
5. you click at "submit as a print" and in "print submission" option you just scroll down and click at "SUBMIT AS A PRINT".
6. now deviation in your gallery has that cool "buy this print" green button and you are excited about somebody buying it.
7. you are disappointed that nobody bought it.
[Tutorial] Getting Started With IrayIntroduction[Tutorial] Getting Started With Iray9 months ago in Personal More Like This
Here is the tutorial on YouTube.
Here is a .pdf version.
This is for those of you who are looking at the interface going, "Now what?" This covers how to convert existing shaders and how to set up lighting for your render.
This is a text version that, while different from what I'm saying in the video word by word, contains the same information.
To use this you need DAZ Studio 4.8 Pro or later.
Part 1: The Environment and Camera Settings
Before we get started, we need to check the environment, camera and render settings.
The Render Settings tab has an Editor and an Advanced section. Advanced is where you check or uncheck your CPU and graphics cards. I render with just my cards most of the time, and if you have good cards with lots of CUDA
