GODZILLA (2014) review - The Showa Must Go OnGODZILLA (2014) has hit theaters, and for months (years for most Godzilla fans), potential audiences have been anticipating a return to form for the Lizard King - a film that will revisit the themes of the 1954 original and deliver a brooding, apocalyptic story of destruction and doom.GODZILLA (2014) review - The Showa Must Go On1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Instead, what we got could best be described as a sequel to THE TERROR OF MECHAGODZILLA (1975).
Trust me, I wouldn't begin a review with a hyperbolic, attention-grabbing statement like that without explaining it. For the moment, let us turn back the clock and toss out a quick recap of the film's plot. Obviously, this review will contain a metric crapload of SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS, but you'll complain anyway, so let's get on with this.
After a mysterious event in 1954 regarding the Castle Bravo nuclear test and an unknown giant organism, the story jumps to 1999, where two scientists, Dr. Serizawa (Ken Watanabe) and Dr. Graham (Sally Hawkins) are investigating a massive underground tomb in the
Expiration DateI love the Team Fortress 2 short movies. They're like little Pixar films......just with violence, blood, dismemberment and a general disregard for health, safety and human life.Expiration Date1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Usually they're quite brief, but the latest to surface is a whole 15 minutes. Positively feature-length!
It's making me want to revisit those TF2 "auxiliary units" I designed a couple of years back.

The man played a whole range of characters, from Smee (Hook) to Khrushchev (Enemy at the Gates) but he'll probably be remembered (and envied by those of us with a looser grip on reality) for his role as Eddie Valiant, the LA gumshoe from Who Framed Roger Rabbit whom the badly-drawn Jessica bounced off, slunk around and serenaded.
For that, I think we'll all forgive him for Mario Bros.

Woops. I made it interesting. The comics in the Apsara Portfolio can generally be described as “titillation with a thin veneer of story”.Woops. I made it interesting.1 year ago in Personal More Like This
A couple of people have voiced disappointment with the recent Jailer comic because I inverted that formula. I stupidly put what turned out to be an interesting premise in a comic where a good narrative hook actually ruins it. It was intended to be a one-shot, but the build-up has too epic a feel to it, leaving the second half and (apparent) conclusion to be unfulfilling.
Solution: I add more to the story. More little chapters that drip-feed character details, which now exist because I started writing them as soon as people began to voice their dissatisfaction.
It should make the opening “chapter” feel more worthwhile.
The whole thing will still be an Apsara comic, though, so don’t expect an easing of the usual Apsara elements.
I hate the sonic fandom. Everybody's characters are pretty much the same. About 99.9% of them are chicks with extremely showy/bright/glowing clothes, and the rest are pretty much recolors that most of the time have the same backstory as Shadow or another really popular character. Most of them also have the power of fire/ice, or some other element that ton of other people already use. I admit there are a couple of really good well thought out sonic fc's, but they don't even get that popular because they don't fit in with the other "popular" characters.I hate the sonic fandom.2 years ago in Personal More Like This
It seems like people only watch me for my sonic art. Cause whenever I draw ANYTHING that's not sonic related (usually stuff that I work the hardest on/love the most) people completely ignore it. It's like I'm not allowed to draw the shit that I DO want to draw, which pisses me off because sonic art isn't going to get me anything that I want in life. Having a crapload of sonic watchers doesn't get you a job. . . it gets you watchers. An

ImprovementOver the years, many people have asked me for how long I've been drawing. While it's true that I started drawing as soon as I was able to hold a pencil, I was never that serious about it. In a sense, you can ask yourself if I was any serious on art altogether. Because, in the end, all kids draw. I think most people can remember making drawings in grade school. Because it's something kids do naturally. Depicting the world around them with images. The beautiful thing is that kids have no fear. They just draw whatever they like, and are usually happy with it. It isn't until the age of 10 or 12, that the outside world suddenly expects you to be either good at something, or stop doing it. It's at that age that we become self cautious about drawing. And therefore it's around that age many kids eventually stop drawing.Improvement1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This

In light of the new development I decided to post better quality pics and info....
What we have is the trope, Terms of Endangerment.
For the linkphobic:
"No matter how informal people are (or say they are), there are some forms of address that are simply inappropriate between two people if they haven't developed a personal relationship that merits their use: pet names (like "Snookums" or "Honeybunch") and terms of endearment ("my dear", "darling", "honey", and the like). Now, add in stalkers, obsessive villains, or powerful enemies and an otherwise inappropriate pet name becomes downright creepy. Another term along these lines that more indicates frustration than any additional creep factor is "buddy," which when used between strangers often indicates that a fight is about to break out soon.
It implies a non-existent closeness, or that the addressed somehow belongs to the addresser. Even if

What I personally find the hardest to draw is feet and hands. I found that with a lot of practice and a lot of frustrating mistakes my feet and hands actually look at the very least almost the way i want them to be.
Now my favorite Style of drawing is Anime or sometimes semi-realism, and i find that by doing studies of the more traditional style realism actually helps improve my anime pictures greatly. For instance i would practice drawing my hands and feet in different positions holding different things and from different angles. I also find it extremely helpful while i'm drawing and i'm having a particularly hard time drawing a hand or a foot in a certain position i will stop for a
Another new animation! This time, it was a project for my philosophy class. I had 2 1/2 months to work on it and I ended up waiting until this weekend to really get to work on it. So it took 3-4 days total. But it came out like I hoped it would! I knew from the start I couldn't do my usual style of animation due to how time-consuming it is, so I at least wanted to do limited animation with some charm to it. It was then that I decided to watch some classic Hanna-Barbera and Jay Ward to get inspired.Another new animation!2 months ago in Personal More Like This
Anyway, here it is.
Fanfiction Temptation.I don't draw other people's characters very often, and I generally advise other people not to either, because, unless you're actually being EMPLOYED to do so; you're not getting anything out of it. You're not promoting yourself or your own ideas but giving a big company free advertising. You're spending time and effort cementing someone else's IP into the public consciousness when you should be doing the same for your own.Fanfiction Temptation.1 month ago in Personal More Like This
That said, messing around in worlds that you did not have a hand in creating is a lot of fun. I do it myself and feel very guilty for it because I should really be focusing on my own.
These fanfiction concepts include:
A massive crossover of science fiction universes that sees Star War’s Empire and Star Trek’s Star Fleet fighting above the titular construct from Halo….which has been overrun by Daleks.
A Sonic the Hedgehog origin story, charting the arrival of Dr Robotnik.
A Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles tale that fo
Why equipment doesn't matter all that muchOh god, I wanted that Wacom Intuos tablet so badly. Why equipment doesn't matter all that much1 year ago in Deviant Events More Like This
I was 16 years old at that time. I had already seen so much amazing art on the internet for the last few years. Digital art, to be precise. And I wanted to be able to do that as well. I had a computer, I had installed Photoshop. The only thing that I didn't have was money. I was completely broke. Note: it's 2004 we're talking about, here. 10 years ago (yeah, I'm old) when computers still costed a fortune and one almost had to take an extra mortgage in order to be able to pay a tablet. Back then, the average Intuos tablet costed as much as the average computer; a whole damn lot of money.
I had already been drawing for years, back then.
I occasionally scanned my drawings. But as my scanner was utter crap (all scanners where, back then), my preferred medium was pencil (that never does well with scanners) and I wasn't that good with adjusting colors in Photoshop... most of my drawings ended in utter digital disappointment.
A Very Special Message from Guillermo del ToroFrom io9: Praise Cthulhu — we are going to get "more Jaegers and more Kaiju, kicking each other's butts" in 2017, according to this announcement from director Guillermo del Toro. Pacific Rim 2 has been greenlit for April 2017. Plus there'll be an animated series and more comics.A Very Special Message from Guillermo del Toro11 months ago in Personal More Like This
According to The Wrap, del Toro is co-writing the script with Zak Penn (and original movie writer Travis Beacham is involved in some capacity, according to the video.) And this time around, the film will be released by Universal, which is now distributing all of Legendary's films. This is the best news in ages.

So ive heard this opinion tooo many times now! Apparently if you're a fat chick with naturally large breasts it doesn't count as having "big boobs". HAHA what the fuck kind of logic is this!?!??!?! BAD NEWS FOR YOU Sunshine! Tits are literally made of "fat"... that's what they are.. just sayin! xD and this is just one of a whole sea of retarded insults I see towards beautiful voluptuous woman! >:C (especially over there in America it seems)
okay serious thing though... I can't wait till all these 14, 15, 16 year olds grow up and suddenly get that feeling of inner hypocrisy when they realize big girls arnt all that bad. In terms of personal preference your always going to get guys who lean more towards the thinner..perhaps more petite body shape. And this is nothing to get upset about! Mark my words! Some ""men"" go crazy for YOU aswell!

Man oh man oh shevitz, THAT was a thing, lemme’ tell ya.
Again, it has been recounted in many other places the play-by-play of exactly what went down, but it is impossible to convey the raw awesomeness in words alone. I daresay this flick is gonna’ be a crowd-pleaser. That said, I’ll just run through the highlights of what I saw.
- Aaron Taylor Johnson is escorting a little Japanese boy that I think he’s just keeping an eye on during this segment of the film. Not sure what the story is there, but they’re on a monorail when the power goes out.
- SOMETHING’S going on out in the Hawaiian jungle, and it starts a fire that catches the attention of attendees at a luau. Suddenly, a little girl notices the water from the shore receding…and people start running, because, y’

ORGANIZED AKU/AKUBLOSS HEADCANON/ANALYSIS POSTSYOOOOO HOLY SHIT so over the years i've rambled on tumblr and had people ramble at me too and the thoughts present in my art developed this wayORGANIZED AKU/AKUBLOSS HEADCANON/ANALYSIS POSTS4 months ago in Personal More Like This
so if you want to know what i'm talking about half the time, this is a good place to start
WHAT IS A HEADCANON?
A headcanon is a theory using evidence from canon to fill in things canon left out or kept ambiguous. It's essentially literary analysis for popular fandom: You see the material, you notice something small, and use context clues and other stuff to make sense of it or link it back to something else in the material.
Headcanons are possible explanations with supporting evidence; they aren't canon, but they COULD be. They're interpretations of canon that build upon the source material instead of altering it.
Y'all are probably well aware of this, but most of my efforts here are spent on my favorite character and my OTP. Aku, Samurai Jack, Powerpuff Girls/PPG, Blossom, Akubloss, fuckin ALL THAT SHIT.
PLEASE NOTE that some of this is
