I'm not the biggest Riddick fan in the universe, but I did enjoy the movies (other than watching Pitch Black for the first time when I was younger, and had the crap scared out of me).
I knew when I started this that I didn't want to create the image everyone was going to create...so I ended up going in a stylistic rather than realistic direction. I knew I wanted Riddick in silhouette, and I wanted to try drawing the aliens (as I haven't done any dragons for a while and I kinda miss it).
Done with Prismacolors and Copics, with some touching up in Photoshop. I had to scan it in four pieces :/
Entry for the Riddick: Rule the Dark Contest. To me, one of my favorite aspects of Riddick is the way he rides the edge between good and bad, the dark and the light, so I wanted to capture that idea in my design.
Im not the best at digital work but I can color! so I used my comic style and threw Riddick into a battle at the foot of a cave. don't know much about the creatures...hopefully they are similar to the movie I think the cave view came out nice and I feel its original.
The Kao and Scruballz Drew myself with my main original character. I've drawn doodles of me with my OC before but wanted to make a more serious one after talking with a friend about drawing yourself with your OC behind you representing you. Scruballz is my alter Ego and visually/physically he's completely different from me. But when it comes down to it, he represents the freedom I desperately desire. That's probably the other reason why I keep him in only heart boxers so that he can be free.
And also, I just wanted to see the size comparison between me and my character. Hence the Height chart. Blank Height chart from here: [link]
