Tutorial: Cosplay Boy Make-up ISo, this is the first part of the "Cosplay boy make-up" tutorial. It has way too much text and pictures to put it into just one journal, so I will divide it.Tutorial: Cosplay Boy Make-up I3 years ago in Personal More Like This
As always~ English is not my native language so you might come across mistakes. My apologies! If anything is unclear feel free to ask me in the comments.
I'm just showing you what works for me and what's my personal liking. I'm focusing on eye make-up and additional tips. If you think this way of doing a boys cosplay make-up is is using way too much make-up that's totally fine. Everyone has his/her own preferences and this tutorial is just a hint who it can be done.
The shape of eyes differ a lot from one to another, so if you want to try it the way I do my make-up you might have to adjust it to your own eyes. Maybe you have already run into this problem before while seeing a well done eye make-up in a tutorial or worn by an asian cosplayer. Furthermore be aware of the fact that the shape of your eyebrows, wearing c

Let’s talk about pencils, the handy tool that every artist uses. The pencil can seem pretty basic at first glance, just a mundane everyday object. But the pencil can create magic:
There are a variety of brands of pencils that you can use for art and a variety of kinds. Let’s quickly look at some examples:
Graphite Pencils: This is your humble every day pencil. It is useful for sketches and full scale black and white work. There are many brands ranging from cheap to expensive. Art graphite pencils vary in hardness. The best way to think of hardness is how easily the graphite smudges or applies to the paper. F is the lightest and the hardest lead (the graphite filling of a pencil) and 9B is the softest and darkest lead
A Brief Discussion About Tonal ContrastTraditional Art WeekA Brief Discussion About Tonal Contrast6 months ago in Art Features More Like This
In last Traditional Week, we talked about the elements which if you ignore can destroy your painting and all your hardwork.
What Ruins A Painting?
Contrast and Values were one main element that either can make your works fruitful or ruin it. It needs to be discussed more broadly as a lot of new artists have trouble to establish a good tonal contrast. Result? Despite their brilliant artistic skills, the picture does not pop up! It looks dull, muted. That is not the fault of the drawing or skills, it's the lack of observation and understanding lights.
Contrast is the difference between two values which helps you to dis

Today I'm going to tell you a little bit about the unsharp tool in Photoshop, and what you can do with it. This is going to be brief, so I won't be going into every single little thing you can do with this magical tool as there are billions of possibilities. However, I'll be showing you how I use it in portrait photography, most especially in order to heighten certain physical traits such as freckles!
We're going to be working with one photo during this brief tutorial, I will show you the finalized version that I posted onto DeviantArt, and I will then show you the steps taken in order to reach that end result. (I will only be focusing on the unsharp tool aspects, though, not the other finalizing touches I used to get my final result)
As a side note, I've recently gone through a lot of laptop problems, so my photoshop presets and whatnot are not back to normal, so I don't recommend you pay attention to them.

This time I'm gonna show you how I drew my newest drawing Noctis Lucis Caelum (you can see him below). Well, it's half 3D render and digital painting (when you see tutorial you'll get it). I used ZBrush and I modeled him there... I never used ANY (I really mean any) 3D program before, so when I found that I was like in 7 heaven

So, I learned to use that program while I was modeling Noctis...literary. Hmm...maybe that's why I needed 10 hours in that program... anyway... tutorial and work in progress stuff (and much more) you can see on our official site tincek-marincek.com under Blog here. I hope you like it

In 2008, I started working for my father's company in the oil business as an IT Assistant while going to college. I never intended to make a career out of working for my father. However, a year after I started working there the company was in desperate need of a new website and complete revamping of our branding. My father was well aware of my hobby with digital art and experience coding so he asked me if I would take on the website and re-branding inbetween working on IT jobs and I agreed. A few weeks later, I presented my ideas for the site and branding, which he approved and I immediately began working on the implementation of both.
Once everything went live I received a promotion that essentially put me in charge of all future advertising for the company. Basically, everything from email signatures, business cards, brochures, to animated presentations are designed and/or reviewed by me before they are seen by clients. Currently, I am

So apparently the newest DMC artbook confirms that Nero is Vergil's son, but from what I've been reading in that forum, a lot of plot ideas got mixed around, dropped, or simply unused, plot contradictions and timing contradictions.
I've taken Japanese for three years and although I've forgotten 90% of it, I'm still pretty familiar with the basics and understanding sentence possessives. In the first post when scrolled down to the bottom of it, it shows a picture with Japanese text with two white circles.
The first circle is Nero's name in katakana. The second circle is saying Vergil's with a possessive. So "Baajiru no..." and then something, something in kanji. I can't read kanji so the sentence would have to say something to the affect of using the japanese words for father being "otousan" or "chichi".

Feature Friday Week 13: Gapless PlaybackHiya folks! There may, and or may not have been a nearly two week gap in the posts here. I'd love to blame me getting sick, and travelling to San Diego, and going to an anime convention in the middle here, but we're going to plow forward like a man with alligators in his pants! So welcome to week 13! That said, even though I didn't post, I was watching in the gaps and you guys were still doing that amazing thing you do, so there's a ton of cool stuff to look at.Feature Friday Week 13: Gapless Playback5 months ago in Personal More Like This
However, unlike in previous intervals where there was a ton of stuff and then nothing, what I'm going to do is start rationing the favorites out to you in regular doses. This will serve three very important purposes. #1, it'll make sure that in the quiet weeks you don't get just one or two posts. #2, it'll ensure that no one gets lost in the crowd! #3, it'll make sure I actually finish this post in my lifetime since there's nearly 20 I need to get through! So rather than waste more time yammering on about what I'm gonna do, let

There are countless tutorials on drawing, painting or anything else you fancy to create, but how about taking care of the finished picture? Here you might find a bunch of useful tips on how to take care of your drawing (taking care of paintings will be explained another time).
It's usually similar for the most kinds of media you might have used - as long as it's waterproof, fixative or hair spray will be enough. Some specific tools, such as ballpoint pens or some kinds of non-waterproof ink, might smudge during spraying and even more afterwards, so it's not recommended to save them that way.
Fixative or hair spray?
There are many opinions on both of them. Here are, however the facts: fixative is much more expensive than hair spray, it usually stinks awfully, and is considered the "pro" way to preserve the picture (uh oh). H
On TES elvesAlright can I just say how much I love the elves in the Elder ScrollsOn TES elves2 years ago in Personal More Like This
J.R.R. Tolkien popularized elves as these otherworldly, divinely beautiful creatures which sorta established the standard for the race in all modern fantasy that came after. They're nearly immortal, distant, and to me, plain boring. Then around comes Morrowind, the game that really made me fall in love with TES, its world and its lore!! The elves of TES have a long history, and each subrace has their own cultural identity. The elves no longer just sit in their Crystal ivory towers (well I guess some of them do) and sing to their trees or whatever - they're flawed, complicated PEOPLE, and extremely proud of who they are. The haughty Altmer, the hostile Dunmer from the Ashlands, the cannibalistic Bosmer, the late Dwemer and their scientific achievements…. when was the last time any elves modeled after Tolkien's work had this much cultural diversity??
I love the fact that Bethesda actually created some of the most inter

This time me and Elffi were cosplay guests for TRACON in Tampere (Finland).
We had the duties to be judges for the World Cosplay Summit (WCS) preliminary Finland and we hosted a panel about "Cosplay around the world".
I debuted a new costume: Perona from One Piece <3!
So let's start with Saturday :3!
The building of Tracon is really big and pretty ^^. Also they had a really nice outside area next to a smaller lake .
I was the most excited for the World Cosplay Summit preliminary! We already had a pre-judging early in the morning. We were happy to have 13 really great teams. It was specially interesting to asked how they did certain parts. Some showed really outstanding techniques. I was
PE:How To Achieve Smooth and Clean LinesDigital ArtPE:How To Achieve Smooth and Clean Lines2 weeks ago in Art Features More Like This
Since it's something many people struggle with while working digitally, today I will be discussing how you can achieve smooth and clean lines using digital mediums.
SAI Stabilizer Tool
Paint Tool SAI offers my favorite method of creating smooth lines with its easy to use Stabilizer tool that works with absolute ease and no need for complicated setting adjustments. It doesn't matter how shaky your hands might be, the stabilizer tool will still be capable of creating beautifully smooth lines for you.
As you can see, the stabilizer tool is easily accessed, and you can quickly and easily adjust the level of stabilization you desire. The lower the number selected, the least amount of stabilization is utilized, the higher the more. I generally leave the stabilizer tool set to the highest setting (as seen above), though I've found that sometimes if you're working with smaller brush sizes reducing the stabilizer

From all over people have expressed how they feel about it. People have gone into large detail on what they like about this.
I want to talk about anxiety in general and how the image came about.
3 years ago I was hit hard by the disorder. It was so bad I got suicidal at points. Not the attention starving kind. Seriously contemplating it. Life was hell.
To someone who hasn't experienced it. I'll try and describe it from my own experience and point of view.
At any random point in the day I can get these attacks. During these attacks I'm overwhelmed with the feeling of imminent death. No rational thinking can erase the thought or feeling. Imagine having a gun held to your head. And you know it's going to go off. You just don't know when. That's what happens when I experience an attack.
I get these daily.
I hide it well from people around me. By just walking away. Or keeping to myself a lot.
How did this affect my

And everything I had been scared of receded like a fleet of ships into the distance. And they moored there. On the horizon. They weren't completely gone but some commanding officer had said 'let's just leave the habour for a bit, shall we? Let's go where the blue turns to green. Okay? Let's empty this bay for a while.'
So I lay in bed in only my underwear with my sheets pulled tight around me and I could feel my heart fluttering. Not like a human heart. More like a wing. One wing of a very small bird. Creating a breeze in my body between my ribs and up into my throat.
I actually raised one hand to check it. My heart, I mean. I placed my fingers between my breasts and felt for the beat. I expected it to be racing. To feel it as a blur. A quiver. Like a plucked string but

I am sure this is a feeling that my fellow readers share with from time to time (if not all the time). Born in a small town in a developing country did funny things to my confidence and self esteem when I was growing up. It seems that life conveniently places roadblocks and detours along the path of my dreams. When I was a toddler, I wanted to be a fighter jet pilot. Only to realise that we don't even make our own airplanes! When I was in high school, I like to doodle and draw comics on the pages of my notebooks. Fellow students love them till my home room teacher found out about my secret doodling time one day. He tore up my book in front of everyone and that killed my comic artist dream instantly. Despite that, my dream to be a creative was too big to ignore and I insisted on doing arts and design after I graduated. Even then, the product of my upbringing still defeats me every now and then. Whenever I see great works by fellow

I’m certain there are people who dislike me. Some I come to know through whisperings because I have eyes everyyyyywheeeeere.
However, I don’t feel the need to acknowledge them or do anything about it unless they are causing any real harm, especially to people I care about.
There is a popular quote that I like referencing for this topic, which gets the message across in a charming way:
“You can be a juicy, ripe peach and there’s still going to be someone who doesn’t like peaches, so you can either submit to someone’s criticism of you, or you can get on with the business of being your own amazing self who attracts other like-minded people that appreciat

Is dA and its Group system slowing dying out?Hello everyone! Is dA and its Group system slowing dying out?2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
Before you read, please keep in mind that my intentions are not to blame, insult, criticize, or say anything harmful about anyone! The intentions of this feature if anything, is to motivate us all in improving the group system and dA as a whole! ALSO this is focused more largely on photography, digital art, and a few other mediums, but I don't claim to speak for the cases of other mediums and types of groups that I am not familiar with.
EDIT: To make things clear, I don't believe dA or Groups will ever be "dead" in the sense of them not existing anymore, or members in both factions not existing either, I'm using "Death" more metaphorically perhaps, in saying that the way the group system is intended to be working, has been failing, and needs improving in order to not fail its purpose, and that dA needs to do something to strengthen the community sense and interactions between members both in groups and in the dA com
