My ToolsEven though I write it in 99% of my deviation descriptions, about three times a week I get comments, notes or emails asking what tools I use to create my work. Maybe this will help, but if people aren't reading the descriptions, it's difficult to believe they'll read this either. I hope this answers your questions as it's pretty detailed. My Tools11 months ago in Personal More Like This
For Most 3D modelling:
I use 3D Studio MAX from Autodesk. - http://www.autodesk.com/products/autodesk-3ds-max/overview I've been using 3D Studio since rel.2 running on DOS. long before it was "Maxxed". It's my go-to 3D application for modelling and rendering.
For complex, detailed and accurate mechanical modelling:
I'll use (usually in combination) AutoCad and Inventor from Autodesk. http://www.autodesk.com/products/autodesk-autocad/overview and http://www.autodesk.com/products/autodesk-inventor-family/overview, AutoCad is a great layout tool and you can do 3D solid modeling in it as well. I'll often do my layouts in Acad then bring

Original Species Information: VestaVestaOriginal Species Information: Vesta10 months ago in Personal More Like This
The name originates from the Roman goddess of hearth, home, and family.
Vestas are an ancient race with their civilization built around nature. While not technologically advanced, they are profound in magic and hold a strong affinity for one or (in some rare cases) more element. They are known for their long, groomed tails, fluffed ears, and horns that differ from Vesta to Vesta. The tips of their ears are typically protected by ornate clips as Vestas believe the source of their magic stem from their ears. Vestas have a love for beauty and it is a part of their culture to dress elaborately, often wearing their trademark embroidery, the "Vestan Braid", somewhere on them.
Vestas are a closed species, meaning that you may not create them without my permission
Vestas, while not immortal, are known to have a long lifespan. They can live up to three-times that of a human. Because of their prolonged l
How to know when someone 'tags' you in dAMost of us maybe already very familiar with Facebook or Twitter, with their convenient tagging system, that allows you to get notified whenever someone 'tags' you (by either mentioning your name, or tagging you in photos). How to know when someone 'tags' you in dA1 year ago in Personal More Like This
But how about deviantART?
I usually found comments and suggestions on HQ about that 'notification when you are tagged' thing, and hopefully the dA wizards will do something great about it (that would be very convenient, at least for me).
In the meantime, we can emulate those features - in our lovely deviantART. It's not perfect though, not really a notification, but just a simple means to find out when you are tagged in a deviation/journal.
Interested? Let's go then!
1. The bottom panel
We will use this panel to display the deviations / journals where you are tagged in.
It can be found sitting on the bottom of your page, more specifically, it always sits on the bottom of your Message Inbox page. It's typically displays the Daily Deviations.
Nayzak FAQAssalaaamu alaikum (peace be to you),Nayzak FAQ4 years ago in Personal More Like This
there are people asking me questions from time to time, so I made this FAQ about me. feel free to comment and write any question you have in mine, I'll update this journal regularly with the new questions/answers:
What's your name?
My name is Nayzak Al-Hilali.
Where are you from?
I am from somewhere on planet Earth.
why you don't like to tell where you are from?
most today's countries and borders are set by the western occupation. why should we follow it? besides, "nationality" divides people instead of uniting them... in Islam, all people are just one nation. so my origin is of no importance.
Are you a man or woman?
It's written in my profile page. I am a man.
How old are you?
[Bullet; Green] as old as the earth.
[Bullet; Red] Do you speak Arabic
[Bullet; Green] yes.
Rainmeter Workshop: Autoscaling and YouI've been beating my head against a wall working on a new suite. The hardest, and most tedious thing has been making the skins resizable. It involves a lot of simple math, and trial and error. Over the course of the next few Workshops I'm going to share some of the things that I've learned about resizing skins, as well as other cool things to do with position formulas and dynamic variables. They'll start off pretty basic and work towards more complicated topics.Rainmeter Workshop: Autoscaling and You3 years ago in Personal More Like This
I keep seeing taskbar skins that fit only one specific desktop resolution. It's possible to make a skin fit any resolution, and usually it's fairly simple. A decent grasp on simple algebra, geometry and arithmetic helps greatly though. The taskbar below fits any resolution. I'm assuming that you're somewhat familiar with Rainmet

One way to make your artwork betterErkaz here. One way to make your artwork better1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Long time no see? Today I will share something that I personally think, useful for us.
Sometimes we always wondering how to make our artwork better in every aspect we know. We will look for more references, more tutorials, more and more stuff to learn.
But unfortunately, most of us are forgetting this one of the most important aspect: Effort.
See we have learned what we need to improve; a new way to color, learned drawing in perspective, effects, and so on, but we still have the feeling that those aren't enough!
Those great engines won't ever start to work if you aren't putting some effort in using them.
See this picture (click for higher resolution):
Well I draw clouds like the left image before... God I was so lazy back then :iconohgodwhyplz:, you can find them in my gallery. But by putting some effort, I can draw better looking clouds (well, at least for me).

Journal updated, with my scanning technique=======Journal updated, with my scanning technique1 year ago in Personal More Like This
I've got so many questions about how I scan my traditional artworks, I also wanted to try out my deviantart Sta.sh storage, so I've uploaded some scanned files and put them on this journal.
Here's my method.
: I use HP G4050 scanner
: My current working OS is Windows 7, but I always use Windows XP to scan my artworks
: I always put 2 bluish-tint transparent films under my pictures when scanning. [You can buy transparent film at stationery stores.]
: Then adjust colors with photoshop, I always set contrast to [+12] or [+14] and I always use legacy contrast.
: I also adjust sharpness sometimes.
[filter>sharpen>unsharp mask> and adjust radius to : +1 pixels.
: Remove all eraser dust using clone stamp tool and it's done.
Someone might wonder why don't I use windows 7 for scanning, why do I have to put 2 transparent films underneath, and why they have to be bluish tint, I have uploaded some sample images for you to compare.
[How to] Introduction to designing Mecha-musumeHow to start designing a mecha-musume. (メカ娘, or also メカ少女 - meka shoujo)[How to] Introduction to designing Mecha-musume2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
You might wonder how I designed my mecha musume (military equipments or other vehicle personified into young moe girls XD). I did them in these simple 4 stages.
1.Look at the vehicle.
Look for its technical specifications. A plane?, a ship? Or whatever it is.
Next, you need to get the idea of how they'll move. For example, I'm making a mecha musume of the SR-71 Blackbird. I look at her speed, power and all of the important elements and design.
2. See how she'll be portrayed.
From (1) the SR-71 has wings, huge engines and very advanced imaging sensors. So those
three elements will be adapted and expressed as some kind of clothing and accessories.
2.1 Her appearance and hair color would represent the nationality of the plane. Her face and eye colors are like those of an American girl as she was made by Lockheed Martin, then I gave
Forum Features: Contrast!Once again, the CV team is here featuring the works of dA's beloved forumers!Forum Features: Contrast!1 year ago in Art Features More Like This
Once per month we'll select one active user in the forums and we'll feature his or her gallery. This is someone we believe represents the forums well with both good forum-abilities and art.
As we're kind (and awesome), we also decided to give an opportunity to everybody to get featured! Every month, we'll create a thread in the Deviation Thumbshare Forum with a different theme. This thread will be made into a sticky for easy access. All you have to do is post thumbs from your gallery matching the theme and, at the end of the month, we'll select our favorite thumbs from that thread and feature them in the next news article
The best thing is that the only requirement is that you're an active member of the forums!

Ladies and Gentlemen
After almost 18 months, we're finally proud to announce
The Grand release of Omnimo 6.0.
And likely, the last major update
In the lifecycle of this project.
Life's circumstances have a tendency to change rapidly, and indeed, both of us (me and Xyrfo) had experienced rather significant changes which kept us from activelly working on this project. We started it as we were teenagers, but we've grown up and our new lives have begun. Perhaps Omnimo is a tribute to this transition; a hobbyist project that had become more serious with every release. We put our faith in the hope that our efforts were not in vain, and that the long wait had been worth it.
In our previous releases, we hesitated making the changelog out of fear that we won't cover everything that we've worked on. Incidentally, it's also the case for Omnimo 6.0 - we've improved it so much, I
