How to source artI'd like to share something here that has been bothering me A LOT lately. The ones that follow me on FB probably know about that. My Elsa drawing got a crazy unexpected popularity and since the first moment I posted it here (and people shared in Tumblr), it's been reproduced over 15 times by people that didn't mention me or at least say "I used an image from internet but I don't know the artist". Nope. They simply took someone else's work, copied/traced it and even dared to say that they're "proud of their work".How to source art1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Sometimes accidents happen. After all, maaaany years ago I copied another artist's work and didn't mentioned it, but I was 17 years old and hardly ever knew what "art" was X_D I posted it here in deviantART and got a bunch of well deserved comments saying "this is so wrong", "you copied from this artist!", "you are horrible!". Since that moment, I put all my efforts to:
1- Contact the artist and ask for permission to reproduce their artwork.
2- Give credits (it's easy an

Each Chapter’s End
Context is everything. The same photographs and paintings of airport terminals and train compartments and subway platforms that seem so cold and forbidding in contemplation of one’s traveling out into the world, somehow become reassuring in their hard functionality and durability – when thought of as the pathway to the journey back home. Faces of travelers photographed in airports often exhibit muted “Mona Lisa smiles,” masking the direction (to or away from home) that they are headed.

Killy crit time!I know that there's alot of artists out there struggling to get sound advice for improving their art out there, and I'm always open for giving advice on art.Killy crit time!3 years ago in Personal More Like This
This journal is open to anyone that watches me and your friends with one catch-
All of my critiques off this journal are GALLERY crits. I'm not going to critique individual pictures. I find this an un-useful method of feed back as it is based souly on one image and not of how the artist operates.
What type of critique to expect from me:-
Colour use (I can only give limited advice on this as my knowledge base here isn't as strong)
Technique of the medium
Layout of art
Content / story of the image
If you have specific questions also feel free to ask them!
Some artists will have alot of things to improve with their art. I'm only going to point out a few important ones. It's too overwhelming to get a long list of flaws >

Even before i animated, i always had a habit of drawing friends into comics. In secondary school i would draw them all the time, if just to get a quick laugh or to insult another. Originally my group of friends in school were he cast of what i called 'Edd's World', most likely inspired by Wayne's World. Eventually i started using the internet more often and started using Neopets with Matt and others, which lead to me making a Guild and then a Guild website.. and that Guild was called 'Edd's Kill-a-thon'... yeah. A few weeks later after some angry threats, the admins removed my guild for having too violent of a title. So i made a new one and called it 'Edd's World' with a lame little Geocities webpage linking to cool stuff and funny pictures. Soon i started using an animated gif maker to make very bad anmated gif stories, mainly about stickmen dying and farts and what not. When i finally found a place to submit them (www.sfdt.c

PE: 10 tips and tricks not very known about PS10 useful and not very known Photoshop tricksPE: 10 tips and tricks not very known about PS3 years ago in Art Features More Like This
1. Saving your .psd with all layers hidden makes a smaller file compared to saving it with all layers visible.
2. You can use the Crop Tool to quickly increase the canvas size of an image by holding down Ctrl + Alt whilst dragging the Crop Tool outside the current canvas.
3. If you want to see only one of your layers at a time, hold down Alt whilst clicking the eye icon of the layer. (do it again to show all layers again)
4. Holding down Alt while in a dialog box turns the Cancel button into a Reset button, so you can reset the values back to default.
5. If you want to just quickly check a very heavy .psd file, you can hold down Shift + Alt while clicking the Open button. This way Photoshop will open a flattened version of the file.
6. You can change the gray background that surrounds your image with the Paint Bucket Tool, just hold down Shift and make click on the background.
7. Not a very unknown tip, but if y

The 50 Foot / 50 Hand Challenge! CLOSED!THIS CHALLENGE IS NOW CLOSED! But feel free to do it just for fun/improvement!The 50 Foot / 50 Hand Challenge! CLOSED!2 years ago in Art Features More Like This
This was a drawing challenge from :iconSenshiStock: and :iconmostlyguystock:!
Hands and feet are pretty hard to draw. Lots of artists struggle with them! Even when other things come naturally, hands and feet can still be quite a problem. The best way to get better at drawing hands and feet is to study them!
The Challenge: Sketch or draw 50 feet AND 50 hands from reference photos or life.
Deadline: The deadline has passed for this challenge, but you can still participate and make yourself a better artist!
You can post them as one giant post, in groups, one at a time, however you want! But please make a FOLDER in your gallery and put them all in there then send me a link to the folder. (If you do one submission with ALL of them at once, then you don't need the folder.)
HOW TO QUALIFY: In order to make this a little easier for myself, please number yo

It’s time for a tea break
Everyone has their little routines for arranging and breaking up their days.
The most interesting ones are those that give you a break from fixating on imminent deadlines, when problems are coming at you ten times every hour and you need to recalibrate a little just to breathe. There must be a moment to reorganize and process information. Counter–intuitively, “takin
