The Making of YOSHINARI'S LITTLE WITCH ACADEMIAFor all aspiring artists/ students who whish to work in 2D animation production, and those already in 2D animation who know little to nothing about actual 2D animation production, here is but a glimpse of what it's like. This is also a pretty brilliant program enacted by Japanese grants to nurture the talent pool for the new generation. Watch director Yoh Yoshinari (gurren Lagaan, Evangelion, FLCL) train 5 young animators at his newly founded animation company STUDIO TRIGGER (KIll LA KILL), as he guides them through the process of helping him create the first episode of the wildly popular Little Witch Academia OVA. Inspiring stuff and a true peek behind the curtain of what it's like for young artists/creatives/animators who work under a giant like Yoshinari. The Making of YOSHINARI'S LITTLE WITCH ACADEMIA11 months ago in Personal More Like This

Something else I feel that I need to mention in order to contextualize my journal better is that, I did not intend for the list to contain every exhaustive permutation of subcategories for anything I mentioned. Point 4 by itself (common furry style) contains all sorts of variations on anatomy etc--the thing is, with each definition, what it means is that when someone says "furry" they don't MEAN to drill down to an exact picture in their head (This is not the Furry Code after all).
But, nonetheless they usually mean something when they use the word, especially when they use it to exclude other things. Let me give a few examples. (These are all paraphrases of things I've read on the internet at one point or another)
"I'm not a furry, I only draw anthro art."
"LOL that's not fur
What The Crap Is Even Furry?I think sometimes it gets confusing when we're discussing "furry" because the word covers several different definitions and literally nobody wants to be left out of including their Doom cyberdemon fancharacter and who are you to judge, anyhow? What The Crap Is Even Furry?10 months ago in Personal More Like This
Being an english major with an interest in linguistics, I find this is simultaneously a boon--as the lack of solid definitions for any of these prevents people from being shoved out the door for failing to meet that definition . . . but at the same time, it causes an enormous amount of confusion when we're talking past each other saying two (or fourteen) entirely different things with the same word.
Furry as it is used commonly means:
1 - The furry fandom in general. What this necessarily encompasses is hard to pin down; to some people you have to actually accept yourself as part of the fandom, but it's also possible to be a big fat geek about it and clearly be in denial of whether or not you are

Awkward Little MiracleSixty five million years ago, a 6.2 mile wide asteroid slammed into the earth and unleashed hell. The Future of Media- MusingsAwhile back, someone interviewed me for a business class. I thought a couple of the questions dug up some hot air worth blowing around, so here it is!The Future of Media- Musings2 years ago in Personal More Like This
QUESTION: In your opinion is small businesses, including physical and online stores, growing? Also do you think they will ever grow to the point where they are a bigger and more influential part of the economy than big businesses?
That's an interesting question- since I mostly just make a comic, my insight is limited. I haven't a clue pertaining to business as a whole. Regarding entertainment media, things are moving in two starkly different directions right now, and it fascinates me.
Corporate media conglomerates continue cannibalizing one another, growing fewer and bigger, into titanic monoliths. Think Time Warner- or as a recent example, look at how Disney has assimilated both Marvel and Star Wars. All those properties are now the domain of one massive corporation. It's unprecede

Here's about three quarters of the amazing front cover. Leave me alone, I'm not a photographist.
The company I went through charged $23 to have it printed, but now I see why, because it's quite big and of really insane quality. Each page is like, really thick and the colours came out super great.
I got to choose the dates that I wanted on it but I went a bit crazy so it has lots of dates for lots of countries.
Now I can always have an inspirational Rowan picture to look at if I ever feel my vital manliness waning. And by 'always' I guess I mean 'during September 2014.' Before or after that, my manliness is a lost cause.
I was kinda forced to add a themed border, but it works pretty well, even for the very light toned pages.
But yeah anyway, I was really happy with how it came out and making this was a fun excuse to draw all the characters interacting. It was interesting thinking up all the

In case you haven't paid any attention to the shorts that played this
summer over Cartoon Network's DC Nation then you might have missed the
standout work that came from Wolf Smoke Studio.
They're the studio behind Kung Fu Cooking Girls, a short that pretty much brought a new style to the animation table:
This, I believe, is the lead key animator's profile on Pixiv. Just click the image to go there and browse his gallery. It's quality:
Always a beautiful thing to see a new studio doing so well against all odds. They're almost doing the impossible over there in China. Hopefully we'll see them producing more memorable animation. I wish them many years of success and growth.
As far as myself, I've got some animation of my own coming down the pipe. More on that in the future...I'm

After writing comes the art! Typically, you've probably sketched something beforehand, especially for any treatments and pitches.
So now we move on to the part everyone seems to get excited over: Visual Development.
Stage 2 - Visual Development
I will talk about a few processes here, and you dont need to do them all, however the more preparation before your production the smoother it tends to run. Especially in large studios where the departments are seperate.
Blue Sky is a process that, if used, will always begin a project. The goal of Blue Sky is to free the mind to all possibilities despite however crazy they are, in Blue Sky thinking, anything goes. The other way to start a project is to be approached by a writer, they will often have ideas for the look of certain things and will more than likely have descriptions of scenes and characters as part of the script or screenplay.
So if you don’t have a

When I see that emote, I'm imagining it saying "CHAAAARGE!" and running forward! So I want to make the emote do that, but instead of opening it up in Photoshop to animate (which I'm not allowed to do anyway since it's not my work), I'm just going to add a simple code that will do the animation for me! Well, this will be a big one because I have had a considerably monumental last month or so. I'll keep the journal as short as I can, and indeed I don't have any wedding pictures yet so it will be lacking in that department for a bit. Since I was kinda unable to take any pics of the wedding myself, Georgie and I are the only ones who were there who don't have any pics of it yet!
But I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's start at the beginning, by which I mean Christmas eve. The first part of Jesusfest 2012 was spent at our house, where it was my job this year to cook the Christmas dinner, which I spent a while doing.
In usual tradition, my brother and sister joined us for dinner, Christmas specials, opening presents at the stroke of midnight, and copious drinking.
The next day we had lunch at my mums with her side of the family, and after that, Christmas dinner at my dads house.
Oh and we gave the puppies their usual presents.
The next day of no
Animation Test in journalOkay, so if you hover your cursor on my logo below you can find some nice transition effects on them. Well, it is not really CSS3 transitions! It is faked by CSS2 (dA's current available CSS stuff ). I found this from here Transition-effect-without-CSS3 by Fli-cAnimation Test in journal2 years ago in Personal More Like This
So, used his trick and tried to find out if something more can be done on it. It is quite handy but it has got limitations (ofcourse!)
1) You can't use the transition without inserting a thumbnail code in the main journal
2) You can't isolate the class (q) from the lit thumb to use it in any given element.
But anyways, animations are animations... Below are just roughly good animations. But something way better can be done as well. I'll be making an actual journal skin using this trick which will be much more appealing to eyes!
(Bad News) Emma Watson/(Good News) Christina SommFor those of you who are still curious about feminism and the state it is in yes, like a flower it is wilting away, but you have a rare few still trying to water this dead plant.(Bad News) Emma Watson/(Good News) Christina Somm4 months ago in Personal More Like This
Emma Watson (AKA Hermione from Harry Potter) is now calling herself a feminist according to this article---> http://www.rappler.com/world/regions/us-canada/69726-emma-watson-gender-equality?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=referral The article addresses that Emma says gender equality should include men, but in the process of her speech she made to the UN like any feminists she is asking men to put women problems before their's even though we know damn well men's problems need to be fixed and women have enough rights especially in America. So in short like any feminist she is still insisting women are victims even though they really are not and I happen to be of them. Once again equality according to feminists is putting women first even though we do have enough rights,
