The night air blew cool and briskly over the Osaka Bay. The city itself illuminated the sky like a star, keeping many stars in the sky out of sight, while the city shone bright; the moon hovered over the city like a great lantern of old. In the center of the bay stood Kansai airport, constructed on a great artificial island. Its lights created a rainbow of colors, from the runway and taxiway lights to the grand terminal gates.
Sitting on an empty stretch of tarmac sat a white Gulfstream G650, silent and in waiting. Water droplets condensed on the fuselage and wings while the jet awaited a most important passenger. Opening his green eyes, the jet looked across the black unlit area of tarmac around him. But a light appeared in the distance and began to close in. The jet’s automated scanners detected the incoming vehicle and on his HUD confirmed that this was his passenger.
“Right on time.” The jet said to himself.

I was the only one on the road. There had been no others for hours now. All there was was the sound of the wind and the long stretch of macadam reaching out before me. The desert sand was a bright red-orange hue, and huge monolithic rock formations in fanciful shapes dotted the landscape. I didn't pay attention to them though. My mind was busy. I didn't even care where I was going....I just wanted to banish the memories of my old life. I wanted the dreams of my beloved Arnie to stop haunting me. I relived his death over and over. I had killed him. It was because of Leigh that he died. I will never forget the sensation of his hand running across my front bumper during his dying moments. All the same though, I wished for something else to occupy my mind. Hence, why I left on this road-trip. I had no idea where I was going, no idea where I would find myself. I just knew I had to leave behind my old life. Leave

I sat alone in my room the rest of the day, pissed off at the world. My side ached occasionally, and the flip of a doctor wasn't willing to hand me my drugs every time I shouted for them, so I had no other choice but to sit on my rubber and glare at the wall in front of me and entertain myself with a thousand thoughts. Finally, I just turned on the television and watched Dr. Phil. All that did was piss me off more though, and I shut the screen off as soon as I had turned it on. I didn't need to hear whatever crap was rolling out of his maw. I was sick of being around a doctor anyway. I just wanted to be fixed up new, and on my way. To where? Who knows, but I didn't even care.
The Hudson Hornet kept me for another month, and by then, I was about stark raving mad. I wanted to get going, and nothing would stop me. He basically discharged me under my constant shouting about it. Guess he got s

It was getting pretty cloudy and Diver banked to the right to watch as Ghost shot past, much faster than hi. Despite never being able to get past that invisible barrier to get back to civilization, they could still fly.
At least the TBM bombers, so lighter personal planes and Ghost could. Ghost could barely take off on the cleared patch of ground the TBMs called a runway, every other aircraft was too big, having made a soft crash landings or had dragged themselves out of the ocean with the help of one of the ships.
Diver couldn't keep up with his 'adoptive' son, and Ghost couldn't slow himself down enough to stay with him, so when ever the two went flying, it was usually silent as Ghost darted around the clouds and he just let the wind roll over his wings.
Suddenly he saw Ghost slow down to slower than normal, not enough to s

The car screeches to a halt inches from my knees. In the distance, an old lady is screaming; in the vicinity, someone is shaking my shoulder, asking if I'm OK; the odour of burning asphalt and rubber assault my senses.

Name: With names, you don't want it to stand out too much and research is important. Alot of beginner writers are prone to go straight to the Japanese names, but it is possible for someone from over seas to join the Cannon group. Using your own name is fine too, but I find it best to look at Baby Name sights and find lists of popular surnames in different time periods. Go through the whole list, make a sublist of the ones you like best, then match the first names with the surnames and see which one sounds the best!
Age: This ones easy. But people still slip up! Making your character too young yet giving them certain skills, takes the attention away from the real prodigies of the show (and remember the show is based around them, not you) If part of your characters personality is that their intelligent, make it one that doesn't require much awe, but still keeps them useful as a cast member. Maybe a skill that the main character, or the love interest doesn't have. I.E - Winr

"Call me Harry," she said. "Boys can get away with anything."
I was playing with matches. Letting the flame lick and dance and gutter in the wind. Letting it almost touch the paint on my front door. Daring it to peel away.
The heat from the tiny flame was scratching at the tip of my thumb and I wondered, could I absorb it? If I let it burn a little further down the match, will the fire rush in and fill the dark and cold space that is me?
Love-making over, she rested her head on my shoulder and whispered into my neck. As I was falling asleep she breathed "I will always come back to you."
That was the year the bright blue paint on my front door started to fade. I told Harriett that if my father was still around, he would repaint it. She said that if my mother was still around, she'd tell me to get off my lazy ass and do it myself.
I laughed at that; Ha

The times Edward Elric cries are rare and few, but the tears that gush up and spill from the rims of his eyes now are without shame and restraint as they just keep flowing, tracing wet lines down his cheeks and dripping from his chin. He doesn't try to hide them or wipe them away as it finally occurs to him how stupid the 'men don't cry' rule is, for what he holds in his arms is the most beautiful, amazing, miraculous thing he's ever laid eyes on; he'd have to be bereft of a soul not to cry.
The emotion that fills his heart as he gazes down at his newborn son is raw and utterly overwhelming. He has never been happier.

The Purpose-Driven Plot
This set of articles is intended as a guide to folks who are having trouble plotting out longer works, such as novellas, novels, and sets of novels. To do this, I have broken down the material into smaller sections for ease of use. We will begin with an overview of the four main types of plot, followed by a section on drawing up outlines, a note on subplots, a formal analysis in reverse, and then a collection of exercises that will incorporate the information presented here. It may sound dry, but please bear with me! I will try to make it as fun and informational as possible.

2. ground plan, plat

"Christine the Killer Car?" Sheriff asked with a raised eyelid.
I smiled, leaned over on my shocks towards him, and replied "Yes. You heard me right." Ramone turned to Sheriff, a look of confusion filling his gaze. He looked so damned confused, I burst out laughing right then and there. It was just too funny.
"You're a killer car? I mean, like how, baby?" he asked.
"I kill anyone who sits their sorry ass in my path, basically. I've come out from my sprees so bloody, you kiddies would freak!" I answered, with another sinister laugh. Ramone turned and gave Sheriff another weird look.
Sheriff turned his full attention to me, and said "I think we ought to try and run your license plate and see what we can find out about you, Christine." I looked at him and spat "Why? I thought you said it was okay."

When night began to fall in the small town, I grudgingly decided to accept the offer from the little blue Porsche and stay at the Cozy Cone Motel. It was better than staying with the hill-billy tow truck, who had offered me room and board in his half ass looking shack. I smiled and replied "That is quite right. Some folks think that is an exaggeration, but once you get to know me, you'll realize it isn't."

He came over to me, and said "What in tarnation are you talking about? I heard the Plymouth part, then the Satan part. What are you trying to do? Scare everyone?"

"What's she talking about, man?" Ramone asked.
"Just what I want to know." Sheriff replied. "Christine, I would like to bring you before the court."

I am a collector of games with historical value. For instance, I own a copy of ET for the Atari VCS, but no Atari to play the beast. I have also become a fan of the PS2 game Bully. It has a place in my heart as the first game I bought on PS2 that I didn't schmooze a used game seller to give me at a discount because I needed a game. However, I can't look at the game without thinking about that night.
I played my original copy of the game ragged. It stopped reading altogether, so I had to find a replacement. Now, I am an avid fan of yard sales and flea markets. But, I went to my local retro game haunt to find a copy of the game. The game seller and I talked for a few moments about Bully and the well written characters before he found the only copy of the game hat he had. It was in the GameStop box that one gets when there was no official box for the thing, and was labeled as Canis Canem Edit. Now, the labeling didn't phase me. As a fan, I knew that the European title of the game was Cani

Part III - Just Around the River Bend: Subplots
I feel it there, beyond those trees,
or right behind these waterfalls;
can I ignore that sound of distant drumming?
---from Disney's Pocahontas, "Just Around the Riverbend"
Subplots provide the basis for the meat of a story. They can be as small or as grand and complex as the situation may require; there can be as many or as few as you see fit to include.
There are generally two basic kinds of subplot: major and minor. The major subplot is one that may stretch over a longer section of your work and involve many important events or ideas. The minor subplot is usually smaller, and usually of less importance in the grand scheme of things. Both of these kinds of subplots fill in the space between the beginning and ending, and both are a means to move your characters or trigger events throughout your story.
A subplot can begin with almost any detail of your character, your world, or your concept. It often begins with a que
