Pretty simple costume I slapped together in a couple of days. :) The bodysuit is white matte vinyl, the cape is a knit, and the boots/gloves are metallic spandex. I love PG's attitude, so this was fun to wear!

after seeing man of steel with adam, kitsy and tara i got SO FUCKING HYPE ABOUT SUPES i made superman and powrgirl in like a week lmao. I just wanted to be a super family with my kawaii friends I don't actually know jacks shit about powergirl, I've never read any comics with her in it but i love her costume and I like Kara in general she's pretty frickin adorable so????

Not 100% happy with how my costume turned out but considering i made it in like 2 days it's not all that bad haha i made a cincher out of powermesh and wore 3 bras with 2 pairs of socks to achieve powergirl booty which sometimes looked just the way i wanted it to and sometimes like...pushed my skin/fat around in weird ways idk comic books are hard. The white part is made of two layers of NOT THICK ENOUGH MILSKIN SPANDEX and I def need to make it again. The piping also needs to be redone. I tried to make the thing without any seams on the shoulders the way the statue looks but i kinnnndddaaa just fucked it up, I'd actually really like to make the leotard again. The medallion and belt buckle are scuply and i cried twice making them it was literally awful and 3 days after it was painted it still got fricking paint all god damn over me I hate props so much. the cape is the same material i used for adam's superman cape, some weird ass woven that kinda looks like spandex??? my cape is a 1/4th of a circle rolled hem on the sides, bias tape hem on the bottom. The gloves and bootcovers are 4 way stretch the gloves had gussets it was awful gloves are awful

I'd been wanting to do Poison Ivy for a while, but I also wanted to do something really fun and glitzy, so I decided to combine the two! :) I had a lot of fun on this, hand gluing crystals and embellishing everything. :) The wig itself is 3 wigs from EpicCosplay www.epiccosplay.com that I sewed together. I'm quite happy with it!

The first photo from the amazing SCV shoot we did with Aileen! So stoked about this. :D The costume was handmade by me and involved sewing, casting, and heat shaping. Watch the video about this costume here: [link]

New photo by :iconenchantedcupcake:!!! We shot at Boston Comic Con at sunset! I absolutely love this image, it really evokes the feel of a comic book cover, and shows Kara's intensity and determination. The movement in the photo coupled with the golden hour back light and skyline in the background makes this my new favorite photo of this costume.

I think there is a way to approach even a simple costume such as Power Girl with thought and attention to detail. Simplistic costumes do not give you as many chances to mess up, and sewing mishaps can be pretty apparent. The craftsmanship on simple costumes has to be even more clean and precise. I'm pretty happy with how Power Girl turned out, mainly because of my fabric choices. I used the thickest jumbo spandex you can get for the bodysuit, a heavy duty canvas-like fabric for the cape, and leather for the gloves and boots. It's always recommended to mix different fabric types for added texture on a costume, to give it more dimension.
