Notes from the Netherworld Library - Chapter 13Chapter 13: Ever-ElvesNotes from the Netherworld Library - Chapter 133 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This
Evernight Forest lay shrouded in perpetual twilight. The immense trees blocked most light even in full daylight, and had grown together under the influence of the twisted magic of the wasteland to form a kind of living roof.
Ghosts gathered around Thorn within moments of him stepping through the Gate, so many of them that the ancient stonework around the Gate was obscured by their presence and he wondered if they'd been waiting for him. It wasn't a pleasant thought.
The ghosts bowed in unison.
Thorn wasn't sure which one spoke: they spoke telepathically, so he couldn't see any mouths moving.
"Welcome to lost Evernight, Son of Darkness." It was more of a solemn intonation than a greeting, and certainly not calculated to make anything feel welcome.
Thorn still preferred the ghosts to Everlight's idiot creatures with their whining about all things cute and fluffy. As for 'Son of Darkness', it was better than 'Demon Lord'.
"To what do we owe the honor of your presenc

The manor was dark, lit only by the flickering light of the burning buildings in the city. The servants and slaves who had once served here were gone, dismissed by their mistress and given enough gold to see them through what would undoubtedly be a difficult few months until the new ruler of the no-longer-Glorious Empire established his brand of order.
Lady Rose, widow of the Imperial Voice Marius and former leader of the Sentinels, would not be there to see it. Her very dead former husband would have been shocked to hear the curses she muttered about the equally dead Emperor as she walked through the darkened halls of the building she had called home for the past fourteen years. "Idiot elf," was probably the kindest.
She wound her way through the obstacle course that was the manor kitchen to the narrow door opening to an alleyway where a woman of her rank would normally never be seen. Not that anyone who looked would realize they saw a ranking Imperial citizen: inst

Doniel remembered falling. Remembered seeming to hang in air that buffeted him while the Overlord fought to take over his mind. Overlord Mardis, who'd all but defeated the band Sir William the Black had assembled, who'd been laughing as magical winds drove even the giant Khan to his knees.
Remembered pain from ribs broken when he'd been tossed against the wall early in the battle. Doniel had lain there, ignored by the Overlord's minions, until he'd realized he was near the balcony and that the Overlord stood with his back to the open space, all attention on the heroes.
Overlord Mardis never expected to be tackled by an injured hero, and fell.
Doniel remembered that. Remembered, too, the way the ground loomed when the Overlord's body went limp, in that moment before the impact that smeared the Overlord across the jagged rocks drove everything out. It hadn't hurt, at first. There'd been no room for pain.
Then, when pain rose, the welcome blackness. And waking in a tomb, where th

The young man was hopelessly lost. He had left to meet his uncle in the capital of the Glorious Empire, Arcadiopolis, but had never actually travelled to the said city before. He had so far enjoyed a calm, all around relaxing life in the family villa on the outskirts of the Heartlands and had never had the actual need to visit the capital. Usually it was either one of his parents who ventured down to Arcadiopolis and back home again, but this weekend had been different. His father, Senator Aurealius, had caught a surprisingly strong fever and his mother was too busy both working and making sure that his father was comfortable and resting above all else. From what the young son of Aurealius could remember, his father had never been one for staying in bed. The last time his father had been ill, his sister had found him trimming the bushes that grew outside the family estate instead of letting the servants handle that. Needless to say, his father had got

Maiala lay still and quiet in the deep shadows of the ravine while she watched the men pass. If they saw her, they'd beat her.
She might have been a useful extra set of hands, but lately as the wasteland expanded and the great river's poison ate more of the ocean's harvest she'd become more of a burden. A skinny girl slave wasn't as useful as a sturdy boy, and the other use for girls well, if it was that or food even the most lustful man would choose food.
If there'd been anywhere she could go, Maiala would have run. The Ruborian Desert was as secure a cage as anything physical, and the waste was worse. Villages like Cliffsedge were few and rare: there weren't many rivers, and most of them were poisoned by the waste.
Why her mother had dumped her here Well, that was easy enough. Cliffsedge was the closest Ruborian village to what was left of Evernight Forest, making it the obvious place for a dying, half-mad elf woman to leave her unwante
Things Aren't Always The Way They Seem ch2Upon waking up, I felt a warmth besides me. I opened my eyes and came face to face with Ashley's bare chest. Blushing bright red, I turned over away from him, trying to pretend that never happened. I felt strong arms wrap around my waist and a head bury itself into the crook of my neck. "A-Ashy..." I mewled and tried to get out of his grip as much as I wanted to stay there. I heard Ashley groan a little, signalling that he's just now woken up. He quickly pulled away from me, leaving me feeling cold and vulnerable. I squealed a little and shivered, hugging myself to try and gain back that warmth.Things Aren't Always The Way They Seem ch22 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

He's full of darkness;
I would know
All the voices in my head
Longing to be truly heard
Or is it just me?
I'm not a stereotype--
I didn't choose this
He couldn't handle
The darkness within.
I'm not the clone;
And he will be all mine.
It's a mask,
And everyone wears it
I have no happiness,
For I am the darkness,
Pure midnight evil.
If I am the clone,
The darkness within,
Then I am completely alone.
Creepypasta: Disneyland's Haunted Mansion....In the year 2000, I went to Disneyland for the first time with my brand new passport with my friends. The very first thing I wanted to go on was my all-time favorite ride: The Haunted Mansion! I loved the ride so much I did research on the ride to figure out the secrets and techniques they use for all the effects. I also memorized the song so I would sing along throughout the ride. So I finally got to the Haunted Mansion and got in line. So far everything was the same as always except for one thing. I got to the 'pet cemetary' part of the ride and they took out the frog's tombstone and replaced it with another tombstone that says "Seth. Forever here...". This kind of bothered me, it seemed out of place and it wasn't one of those family-friendly puns that Disney makes all the time, but I ignored it thinking it's a new part of the ride.Creepypasta: Disneyland's Haunted Mansion....4 years ago in Short Stories More Like This

Overlord of the Multiverse ch. 8The Overlord managed to reach the Golden Hills without any issues arising. However, practically as soon as he stepped onto the Golden Hills, he found himself under attack from a dwarven patrol. The five dwarves attacked all at once, with slashing axes and slicing swords, but the Overlord had often made certain to train to fight them. They lasted only seconds, but the Overlord made certain to leave one alive.Overlord of the Multiverse ch. 84 years ago in General Fiction More Like This

"Where is Karen, you dwarven bastard!? She's over five feet tall, has blonde hair, and has blue eyes."
The dwarf growled, "She's probably that girl our king has in our dungeon. We're holding her captive in a cage of this special green gold that the leader of the Bringers of the Dawn gave us to hold her. She'll be held until she agrees to marry our king. The girl in the mirror
The one who feels
She will always be inferior
I’m talking to you
The one who isn’t the right size
The right height
The one who isn’t somebody’s “prize”
I know it may seem
That your ‘Midas’s touch’ is broken
And everything you touch
You are unique,
Even if it doesn’t seem true,
You are perfectly wonderful
At simply being YOU
Hey you, yes you
The one with the cuts across her arms
Playing a game called life
That you never seem to win
Hey you, yes you
The girl who never eats
Don’t worry about being perfect
It’s not possible, so why chase a false dream
I know it seems that the grass may be greener
On someone else’s yard
But the ‘water bill’ is always higher
To keep up that illusion.
The girl who cries herself to sleep
The ones who are scared of the dark
The ones who are scared to be touched
The ones who are scared to speak up
Hey you. YES YOU!

Arthur climbed through the forest, following the sounds of sniveling that he heard from the east.
The wind sounded in his ears, and chilled his very soul. The leaves rustled over the sound of the crying person, who's sobs we're getting louder each passing minute the Brit walked. When he finally came upon the crying figure, he had to stifle a gasp of surprise. The (height) girl's long (h/c) hair hung in beautiful locks on the (s/c) girls flawless shoulders, her skin glowing softly in the sun's rays. There were two distinguishing features on the girl; her eyes were a vibrant lime green, that shone with a frightening aura, and on her bare back was a black tattoo, made up of the strangest symbols. In the middle of the tattoo, there was a single word. 'Draco'. The font was quite otherworldly, the wozard had never seen anything like it, not even back when he was just starting out. The girl gave a small surprised shriek, her voice musically chiming. The

1 - A Scootaloo episode:
As I said back in my analysis of the CMC, Scootaloo has had the least development out of all of the younger pony characters. And that's a shame because there seems to be plenty that we can do with her. For example, she is a pegasi that cannot fly. That alone could be the basis for a great story. We could have an episode where she feels like an outcast, the only pegasi of her age who is incapable of flight. We could see her trying to cope with it or even have it be something she's ashamed of.
We could even have that be the reason why she has Rainbow Dash be her personal hero. RD is, after all, one of the most accomplished fliers in Ponyville, so it makes sense that Scootaloo, who ca

1) You know that saying “think outside the box”? Well its horseshit. Whoever told you that should be struck in the face repeatedly. You don’t want to think outside the box, you want to take a different approach within the box. It’s like if you’re stranded without a ride home and you think “Maybe I’ll just grow wings and fly home.” There was a test in which participants were prompted to create animals that would not be of this world. The result was that they ended up creating creatures that were awfully similar to earth creatures. It was probably stupid shit like green skinned tigers with red eyes. The reason was that they were told to

Thoughts about her
And when I do,
I start to worry.
I'm in my cage and she's out there,
when I was with her,
I always doubted the fact that I loved her.
But now that I've been put in my cage I realize,
I realize how much I love her.
I love her.
The thought of such a thing is stupid,
But to me, it seems so right.
I keep remembering everything she showed me,
I even began to trust people more.
Her voice still echoes in my head,
Her last words to me .
"I love you Kyo-Kun ."
I wish I could take it all back,
go back to that day and tell her how I really feel.
Because all these pent up emotions are painful for me to keep inside my head.

What You SeeThe land where I live is a peculiar place, though not as peculiar as some. The place where I live is full of children who play barefoot in fields, but know that it hurts to run through stalks of ripe corn. A place where the fields burn at least once a year, flaring allergies and settling a haze in the sky. Where dust drifts across the roads in place of the dry tumbleweeds seen in photos, and residents know to pull over and wait the clouds out. What You See2 years ago in Flash Fiction & Vignettes More Like This
I live in a place more beautiful than most, where the sun rises in the east and sets in the west, yet somehow is more breathtaking each day. When the sun sets on the horizon, the glow of the city fades and the stars litter the sky like the sprinkles on a child’s birthday cake. This is a place where we garden in the warm spring afternoon, only to watch petals of snow drift to the ground after tucking the children into bed that very same night.
This place where I live is much sweeter than most. Though we have no grand and majestic mountains t

But then nothing.

It will wrap its deadly tentacles around you.
