I'm excited about the new SM anime, though it seems like the date keeps getting changed...I can't wait for more info on it. Anyway, I hope we all old Sailor Moon fans like this new adaptation. I drew Serenity while thinking about all this.
Based on Sailor Moon Manga Image by Naoko Takeuchi in the first Artbook. Lineart and colouring by me. REFERENCE: [link]
This was my first time doing such an intricate object (the podium thing) ... I'm not sure how I felt about it, fun, and annoying all at once! This is my second to last main princess picture in the set. I'm looking forward to it, but, I'm not looking forward to doing yellow hair again... :/
Hello Everyone! Anime Expo 2013 is happening next week and and I will be there in the Artist Alley! Our tables will be F29 and F30. We'd be so happy to meet you if you are there!
Continuing with the re-imagining of classic Art Nouveau pieces :thumb310316854:, *xasillisax and I decided to pay homage to Gustav Klimt and his famous "The Kiss" this year. With that as inspiration, we painted Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon characters King Endymion and Neo Queen Serenity in a cosmic embrace.
Symbols we incorporated into this art include: the planetary symbols of all the senshi and the earth and sun (on the King), roses, the shape of Japan (on the Queen's arm), ebbing waves pulled by the gravity of the moon, craters (at the bottom of the Queen's dress), and a faint silhouette of Sailor Moon (behind the Queen).
