At that point I felt it would have been easier to just walk away and leave her to it, but that just didn't seem right.
She had only been at the school for a day, and she had already received enough taunts and jabs to last her the rest of her teenage years. God how easy it would have been to just turn on my heel and leave. Why should I care? She wasn't my friend, she didn't know me and I didn't know her.
I am by no means popular, but neither am I what you'd call socially isolated like her. I found her to be as strange as everyone else did. Her angular dress, her warped earrings, her absurdly large hat which seemed to extend way beyond the top of her head, and her peculiar taste in books and food, even the fact that she claimed to be a witch - she certainly wasn't normal by any stretch of the imagination.
But in my mind, none of that warranted the torrent of abuse that was dumped upon her on a daily basis.

In October, in Hamburg
A month after she was expected
Crisp leaves, warm light
Geese on the lawn by the lake
Stretching through short days and long nights
Heralds of winter's coming
Shoes worn thin by miles
I wander, a stranger, mute
Head full, heart singing
The love of dark trunks and bright leaves
Untempered by geography
Forever Protected :Part 1:"No!" Sakura screamed, her headband falling to the ground. "I hate you" She said coldly to the figure in front of her. Blood ran down her face, down her arms and legs. Darkness was the only thing she could see, but not the only she felt. "I've always hated you," She whispered as the figure moved away. A large flow of chakra appeared in the room, followed by the chirping of thousand birds. The blue light of his chakra rushed towards Sakura's face. She closed her eyes. The blow never came, the sound gone, the light gone. It was quiet for a moment before his load scream filled the room. Something warm fell onto Sakura's brow. blood She thought before hearing another scream, her own. She heard the faint sound of running and a door opening. A different figure wrapped their arms around Sakura. "Calm down Sakura. He's not dead, just a broken leg. He's had worse" The voice said. Sakura opened her eyes. "Gaara...." She whispered, looking back at his icy blue stare. "Don't be afraid. YoForever Protected :Part 1:8 years ago in General Fiction More Like This

"Hey trash, pick this up for me."
It didn't even start out as a joke, as if he'd been saying it all along. It didn't bustle merrily across stage, as if it had been sitting in the wings, waiting for its inevitable appearance. It was thrown, like a heckler's open disdain.
Pretty boy became someone else, belonged to someone else.
What was I supposed to think of that? Some bastard boy with more hair on his legs than his face was the same bastard boy I had once been to someone else, when I'd first appeared on the scene.
I had tried to ignore the signs; he had seen them, and acted swiftly.
Just like I'd been tender, and the first pain had been tender, here was an ache that carried still that tenderness - it was a killing ache, but one devoid of love as the ones before it had not been.
Now here in my place was another soft, sweet tender ache for him. The ha

"Don't you think the stars are beautiful?" he Loke asked, ignoring her question. "They remind me of you."
Natsu stood up, making the car shake a little. "You know, Loke," Natsu smiled evilly. "They sorta remind me of you, right now." Natsu kicked Loke out of the car.
Lucy was shocked and looked out the car door, relieved they were back near the ground, Loke hardly affected. She sighed in relief, watching the car go back up until she felt hands wrap around her waist pulling her back onto the seat. Natsu moved his hands away from her and leaned back.
"Sorry," Natsu whispered. Lucy tried to make out his facial features but it seemed impossible. "Just wanted a moment with you since I haven't seen you for so long." Natsu sighed, sending shivers down Lucy's spine as she became fully aware of how close he really was. And soon enough, they were closer to the stars that allowed Lucy enough light to see his face an inch from hers.

Upon reaching the small apartment the two claimed home, I hopped off the now calming bike and began my fancy little run up the iron stair well. My casual styled Converse clanked against the metal that I had long been used to, and about halfway up to the second floor, I turned around and glanced back down at Soul. He sure took his time. Just inching his way up with a slouch like that
I was ready to get the book.
And he could definitely tell. Especially when the corner of my encyclopedia poked out from beside me.
"WHOA Maka! Hey, cool down, sheesh! I'm coming."
I threw a sharp glare at him and practically raced my shadow cast from the grinning moon overhead, halting at the door. I guess I really felt like rushing him today. Fumbling with my keys slightly, I finally located the apartment key and jammed it into the loc

"They 'are' your friends right?"
"...Why do you only trust 'me' with your secret?"
I said yes of coursein case you were wondering
The moment when he'd ask me to the ball was the very thing I wished for. Even though I didn't really hope for him to ask me 'that' way he still pretty much asked me to the ball And without even realizing it, I said "yes" when it wasn't even a yes or no question! It was a request a demand an order. I didn't really have a choice and yet I still 'agreed' to go Soul didn't seem to notice though Thank God!
Sighing, I set the curler down and used my hands to touch up my pigtails. I decided to curl them and put cute purple scrunches in to match the dress I wore. I thought they'd be better than just regular black hair ties. "Maka!" I tried to ignore

"Calm down Natsu," Erza finally said.
"How the hell am I supposed to calm down," Natsu screamed at her, stopping in his tracks. I didn't want to look at him. I knew the he returned too looking like when he saw the guild wrecked. Why do I not like Natsu when he's angry? Because he doesn't look or act like the kind Natsu that I know and love.
"I don't know just do! Do you think we're all smiles and laughing even though our guild is in ruins," Erza retorted. Even if Erza looked mature, and calm, I could still see her hands twitching in anger. "Stop acting like a baby!"

We are heading to the guild, and I'm trying to get a decent plan, instead of just going straight in like Natsu always does. "We barge through the doors, and attack!" Natsu said, punching his fist into his hand. I shook my head "We can't just attack head on!" I yelled. Natsu rolled his eyes and looked away. I did this same. "Ok guys, don't argue." Erza said. I nodded and started to listen to what she had to say. Natsu continued to pout. "Flame head, listen to Erza." Gray said. "Make me, Ice freak!" Natsu shot back. Before a fight could start Erza knocked them both on the head, and spoke. "We will sneak into the guild, and see if we can find the kidnapped people and try to get them out before we try to destory the guild." she said. "That sounds like a great Idea!" I replied. Skidding to a stop and falling to his knees, he gently scooped up Maka in his arms. Soul's red eyes had turned into a bottomless, black pit, empty and dark, as if they showed how empty he felt inside. His shaking hands unsteadily caressed Maka's bruised and battered face. He turned it gently towards him, and as another tear rolled down his cheek, he slowly knelt down and delicately kissed her bleeding lips.
"Maka", he whispered gruffly, "I.....I....I love you".
Maka slowly opened her eyes, groaning at the pain raging in her body. Stiffly she placed an ice cold hand on Soul's cheek.
"I love you too", she whispered faintly, then her eyes rolled to the back of her head and closed. Her arm fell limply and lifelessy from Soul's cheek, but a faint smile remained on her lips.

"'Dun wanna get up. Five more minutes." Maka's eyes were wide as saucers. Why was it that he always did this if they spent the night together? Despite her protests it was kind of nice. She smiled and leaned her forehead against his chest, closing her eyes. Warm. It wasn't long, however, until she remembered school--ever the perfect student, she was.
"I'll make you breakfast if you get ready to go." She coaxed. Soul let out a sleepy murmur. A vein throbbed in Maka's forehead. Her cooking wasn't good enough, eh? A devious smile cracked across her face.

Chapter 14: I never liked liars
"They 'are' your friends right?"
"...Why do you only trust 'me' with your secret?"
My eyes were glued to the screen as I stared at pictures of Soul and his family. I couldn't take them away from him. In every other picture he was giving the camera a large shark toothed grin...and some of them he had his fists balled and on his hips; laughing as if he was Black*Star's brother. There were a lot of pictures of him and Wes: Soul was usually sitting at a piano while Wes had a violin in his hands. I felt my eyes begin to water up finally after another half an hour of picture viewing. I felt as if there was a stranger in my home now...I felt as if I didn't even know Soul anymore.
I stood up, fighting the urge to look up more pictures, and stepped away from my desk after shutting the laptop closed. And, as I fought the tears, I stepped over to m

Chapter 15: The Evans Family
"They 'are' your friends right?"
"...Why do you only trust 'me' with your secret?"
--"Are they any good Papa?" I asked as my Papa, Mama and I waited at a large mansion. We were invited to see the famous Evans Family and attend their dinner party. Inside the building, I could hear laughter, talking, and music. Since I heard many different voices, I was sure there were a lot of people. The Evans Family sure was famous. There were a lot of people still outside and waited patiently to be greeted and let inside. Everyone there was dressed as if going to a big fancy dinner - which we were actually. My Mama had me wear a small dress she found in the toddler's section. I was eight but...I was pretty small...
"Yes, You'll see." My Papa finally answered. "They all have their many talent's, trust me." We approached the door finally as he said this,

You understood me like no one else.
I remember the first moment I saw you. You were in your wolf-form, white fur swishing about, and staring curiously at me while you and your friends encircled me. At the time I was planning to be eaten. Strange.
But you protected me. You turned on your friends for some stranger you had never even met before. I never even asked you why, and now I guess I will never know.
I remember our late night talks when neither one of us could sleep, and how I finally told you about my father (which I had never spoken to anyone before about) and how you didn't even flinch with surprise. I guess I'll never know why either.
I remember when Liz and Patty told me about how you became a wolf, and about the argument you had with your parents. I've always wondered what type of disagreement could make you leave your home, but I've always been too scared to ask, for fear of angering you.
Add that to the list of things I will never know.
I remember the

"If I kiss you you knowa little more passionately than last time "
"Will it hurt?"
The music was all muffled and hard to hear when I regained my consciousness. I opened my eyes slightly and saw that I was in some other room and I was staring at the wall and a large painting hung perfectly straight and aligned on it. Remembering that that the last thing I saw before being in there was Soul asking me if I was feeling ok just before I fell into Tsubaki's arms. I cursed to myself and examined where I was now. They had both asked me if I was ok so that meant I must have looked way distressed. Where was Soul now? And where was Tsubaki? More importantly where was I?
I was sitting alone in a room with two openings: one a door and one an archway. What I was sitting in was a beautiful red leather couch in the middle of the room
