The BestThe smalles and youngest member of the Batfamily, little Damian Wayne, crawls down a hallway of Wayne manor on his hands and knees, making his way to his favorite brother's bedroom. The door is already cracked open slightly so he pushes it farther gently with his tiny, tiny hand. Once there is enough space to continue he goes through, not stopping until he reaches the space of carpet next to the massive bed. He looks up and sees his big brother Dick tucked under the sheets, lips parted as he tries to draw breath, face flushed with fever. His normally bright, electric blue eyes are now hazy and barely open, sweat pouring down his brow. The baby's eyes slant with concern, heart aching at the sight. The Best4 years ago in General Fiction More Like This

Mirrored EventsIt seemed like only every other blue moon that appeared, that Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson would have a fun night out just simply because they wanted to. This particular definition of fun being: not fighting crime. This trip to the theater was not just another cover up to hide their secret identities, but it was truly because they wanted to spend a day together as father and son. Out of all the years they spent patrolling the city as Batman and Robin, they noticed that there was always a certain time in the year when almost nothing illegal or dangerous would happen.Mirrored Events1 year ago in Drama More Like This
The rest of the world also seemed pretty quiet since most of the Justice League were either home, in the watch tower, or patrolling their own towns and Young Justice were not on any particular assignments that evening. They decided to use at least one day during this time of the year to have some fun—and also because Alfred had bought them a pair tickets to a favorably acclaimed travelling production of The Pirates of
Closure [Young Justice Animated - Dick, Bruce]Thanks to time zone differences, it was late Christmas Eve by the time Robin and the others returned to Mount Justice from their "mission" in Europe. With Wally insisting that the group stick around for a round of carols, eggnog, and exchanging Secret Santa gifts especially after he'd come all the way over, and convinced Kaldur and Zatanna to do the same Robin's return to Gotham was delayed for a further few hours. Fortunately, Dick had previously informed Alfred that he'd be spending Christmas Eve, and the days preceding it, with the Team at Mount Justice. There was some truth to it. Even so, once the last bit of gift-wrap had been cleared, Robin decided it wasn't prudent to linger, and gathered up his Secret Santa gift with great care. It was a fancy Martian memory globe from M'gann: it portrayed whatever memory or image you thought of while rubbing it, and would continue to do so until you "changed" the memory. Too. Cool.

It was the vile taste of rancid leftovers that finally chased the last vestiges of unconsciousness from him mind. Thirteen year old Robin forced his eyes open and regretted it instantly when the all-too-familiar, pulsating pounding threatened to split his skull. 'Damn it, why am I the one who always ends up getting chloroformed," he complained internally, attempting to massage the headache that was centralized behind his temples. Except his hands wouldn't move; that was when he realized how he was laying.
On his side, with his hands unable to be moved from behind him.
It was always disconcerting, being kidnapped when he was Dick Grayson. If he had been Robin he could have fought back, but as the adopted son of billionaire Bruce Wayne he knows only the rudimentary basics of self defense; easily overpowered by someone determined enough. Especially if his abductor was armed with chloroform soaked rags and rendered him unconscious. Which left him helpless to whatever means of containment w

The screaming woke Bruce up. Sure he was dog tired, but in this house, that was not uncommon, and made no matter. He was already to the room in question when these thoughts surfaced. Speed was his friend, time is enemy. Without hesitation Bruce reached to open the door, but a hand landing on his shoulder ended his single train of thought.

Seeing HimThe first time Batman had ever seen Richard Grayson was, contrary to popular belief, not at the circus. It had been a few days before, actually, at night in a dismally gray alleyway.Seeing Him3 years ago in General Fiction More Like This
It had been a cold February night, but there wasn't much snow left on the ground. John Grayson had apparently wanted to grab a late night bite to eat, and his eager eight-year-old son had tagged along, insisting on doing nearly everything his father did like many boys at that age. Most of the night had passed uneventfully; the Joker was quiet, no large robberies, nobody from the rogue gallery had acted up. For Batman, it was almost peaceful.
He had been on a stakeout on a rooftop when he noticed the large man and his tinyit was bordering ridiculous how small Richard Grayson wasson enter the alley, probably a shortcut to their home.
Only, Batman thought, these people must either be very new to Gotham or only be visiting, because anybody who actually lived in Gotham (or anywhere near Gotham) knew

It's barely there; anyone else wouldn't have even heard it, but I do, and it makes one of my eyes pop open. Of course, it's not like I was asleep in the first place. It's been raining like crazy outside for the past five hours. Thunder, lightning, the works. I'd actually like to get some sleep when I don't have to "work" ya know. I glance at my bedroom doorway out into the hall and see a shadow just at the edge. Too small and hesitant to be Alfred. That leaves only one person and I'm really not that surprised.
"Damian?" I call out softly. The shadow flinches, hesitates, then draws closer until the little devil comes into clear view. He's dressed down in his lime green pajamas with kittens on them, feet bare, and hair a tangled mess. He's scowling at me like he always does but there's something else besides annoyance hidden in those blue eyes. I wouldn't tell him that though. Kid needs his pride.

“Please, just call me Wayne. With the amount of time we’ve spent together the last few months, I think we can drop the formalities.” Wayne corrected. Grayson just nodded and took a seat in the empty chair in front of Wayne’s desk.
“So Wayne, what is it you want to talk about. Has the mob contacted you again? Has He been sending you threats about the inheritance?”
Wayne sat in the extravagant leather seat behind the desk, tightening his tie and fixing his cufflinks.

However, my new poll has reminded me that many of you want to see more in the Linchpin verse, so I dug this out and cleaned it up a bit. It's nothing but pure fluff – which is why I think I'm so iffy about it. There is no Robin Torture at all in it! Seriously!

I nearly jumped out of my skin. Huh? Was someone in here? I didn’t smell anyone. It took me a minute to realize it was telepathically.
[Who said that?] I replied using my mind.
[I did.] The voice laughed. [My name’s BOB! What’s your’s?]
BOB. What a strange name. It must be a human name. Could it be a human? If so how are they using telepathy?

It's a shame they never got to introduce Catwoman to the Young Justice Verse. There are so many versions of Catwoman that do the character justice, but I think I'm most fond of the Animated version from the 90s. She was just the perfect counterpoint for Batman.
