This is Connie signing out! - END FINAL UPDATE
UPDATE 10/2/2012 - Heigh ho, friends! Contraltissimo back from the dead here. Oy my gosh school.
*ahem* I'm here to let you all know that I HAVE COMPLETED JUDGING the entries, but that I will not be posting the results tonight, because it's über-late, and morning comes early, and I would rather put together something a bit more formal than I have time for right now. Expect results tomorrow.
To preemptively make up for the pins and needles this waiting may elicit, I have prepared

Character Creation and RulesA comprehensive guide to roleplaying in RP groups can be found here for further reference: http://fav.me/d4ya3ypCharacter Creation and Rules3 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Please be sure to adhere to the following rules when creating characters to enroll in Otherworlde:
Characters must be paranormal, supernatural, or magical in some way. No basic humans without any magical ability are allowed (though witches and warlocks certainly are).
Furries are not allowed. Characters can be nekomimis (ears and tail) but no more. Shapeshifters who turn into animals are perfectly fine as long as their humanoid form isn't furry.
Characters should fit the atmosphere of the location. This is a very dark place, so please don't have overly colorful characters or dress them in basic street clothes. They should represent the horror theme.
Characters must be sixteen or older. Exceptions might be made if your character is younger

Dragons live in the snowy mountains of the far north, isolated from the rest of the world by harsh and deadly terrain, only they are fully comfortable in. The vegetation is sparse with a few pine tree forests, and dragons mostly survive by hunting other animals in the area, such as bears, snow lions, arctic foxes, birds, hares, long haired goats and gazelles among others. The tall mountains are always partially covered in snow even in the summers. While dragons have established a few towns for trading purposes, they mostly live in caves deep inside the mountains, where tunnels can stretch onwards for miles and miles through on

Did you know? (Authors and writers read this!!)Hi guys!Did you know? (Authors and writers read this!!)11 months ago in Literature Features More Like This
I recently discovered something very interesting. As I didn't know this, I thought some of you might also not know this, thus it could be helpful (even life changing) to share this info.
Did you know that the key to selling your book successfully, you need to start with the marketing process of your book months in advance. The ideal is to start with this before even start writing the book, but it will still be effective if you start a few months before your manuscript is done. You need to have a battle plan about how you're going to sell your book, before you are finished writing it. Here's a few articles on this marketing strategy that might help you make the difference between selling a thousand books and zero.

Someone else posted that "lineart", it was actually an example picture for my commissions that I had in my sta.sh. Clever. I deleted it, but if you saw it, PLEASE DO NOT USE IT AS A LINEART. I don't think they did anything else major, but I haven't really looked around.I am back6 months ago in Personal More Like This
So yeah. Here I am. That was actually a really nice break from not having to reply to comments. But fear not, I shall resume posting and replying soon. Thanks for waiting. In the meantime, be wary. Apparently it is not that difficult to hack me, or anyone.
April 1/50 for 150 Raffle!BULLETIN:April 1/50 for 150 Raffle!3 years ago in Deviant Events More Like This
As a way to kick off April's coloring contest, we are once again hosting the 1/50 for 150 Raffle! All you have to do is +Fav this journal, which puts you in a random drawing to win an easy 150 dA points! Pretty easy, huh? So easy and effortless, you'll probably wake up in a few days having completely forgotten, and wondering just who this color-me-club fellow is that's throwing random dA points at you.
There will be a winner added for each extra 50 +Fav's this journal receives. So you have, at minimum, a one in fifty shot at winning! However, the winner cap will be at 500 +Fav's, so get yourself in quickly to be in the first 500 before the cap is reached!
Of course, this whole raffle thing is just a big ol' ruse to stir up attention to an even bigger event. Yep, already mentioned it earlier, but colorists unite(!) we're also kicking off our next coloring contest!

The Nintendo Generations
While Atari may have defined a generation of gamers, Nintendo has both ushered in and held the hearts of several generations with their unique combination of affordable consoles and memorable characters. Mario may have been born a supporting character in Donkey Kong, but he has climbed the ladder, or perhaps slid up the pipe, to become not only Nintendo’s mascot, but one of the most recognizable characters across the globe.

Come Unto Christ (youth theme 2014)Everyone is a child of God. He does not pick and choose who He wants saved. He is here for everyone individually. And I testify this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.Come Unto Christ (youth theme 2014)1 year ago in Personal More Like This
Moroni 10:32 - Yea, come unto Christ, and be perfected in him, and deny yourselves of all ungodliness; and if ye shall deny yourselves of all ungodliness, and love God with all your might, mind and strength, then is his grace sufficient for you, that by his grace ye may be perfect in Christ; and if by the grace of God ye are perfect in Christ, ye can in nowise deny the power of God.
The new theme for youth this year is to "Come Unto Christ." Youth everywhere are finding there own ways of following through with this, and I have made it my own personal goal to study all of the standard works before leaving on my mission this summer. Along the way I'm sure I will find myself pressed for time, or lacking in one way or another so as to feel I can not finish. But I will try, and I will succeed. When I finish I will be back wit

Holiday Card Project 2013Holiday Card Project 20131 year ago in DeviantArt Announcements More Like This
It's back! With the goal of bringing a little cheer to patients in the hospital during the holiday season, the deviantART Holiday Card Project connects deviants from around the world and applies their tremendous artistic abilities in designing and creating uplifting holiday cards.
In past years, the Project has received more than 5,000 cards sent in by more than 1,000 deviants from 50 different countries/political regions. Cards were then divvied up and distributed in-person by deviantART members to local Los Angeles hospitals, with additional cards given to various hospitals in the U.S. and abroad for hospital staff members to hand out to patients.
The idea behind the Holiday Card Project is simple: do something nice for others. However, if you're looking for even more incentive, every deviant who submits a card will be given a free one-month Premium Membership to deviantA
Conquer your artblockI think every artist out here has experienced it at least one time in their career: the so called artblock. A moment of total lack of inspiration that suddenly hits you, and leaves you unable to create. Most often the solution is to just wait. Most artblocks will solve automatically with time. But there are circumstances in which an artblock doesn't automatically disappear, or when you have deadlines to catch. In that case, you might be helped by some basic tips to conquer your artblock.Conquer your artblock10 months ago in Deviant Events More Like This
Over the years, I've experienced an artblock (or writersblock, as they call it for fiction writers) many, many times. Most of them were short, but the longest lasted over 2 years. Most of them solved on their own. But sometimes I just needed that little bit of extra help. Therefore, I made a list with a few tips and tricks to make your artblock go away. Hopefully it'll help you as well as it did me.
Beat your fear
Most artblocks come from fear. The fear of not being able to

I believe in deviantART. Which is to more accurately say I believe in the concept and the reality of the deviantART community.
When in contemplation of the eternal wellspring that is the deviantART project and how it has become the engine keeping my heart and mind on a full burn as I strive to be an upstanding member of the community as well as a helpful architect and eager participant in the conversation -- my thoughts inevitably settle upon my attempts to define my concept of Gratitude.

Pushing Ahead - Contest Info, Etc.Of course as I have been trying to focus on Ascension, a new group of characters is fighting for attention. I actually made brief character profiles for them some time ago and have a tentative storyline. I will make them public at some point in the future; maybe have a contest or something. I am toying with the idea of pursuing the project as a manga instead of a novel, but that is all still up in the air at this time.Pushing Ahead - Contest Info, Etc.3 years ago in Personal More Like This
With luck, that acknowledgment will pacify Sarlex and the others until I have the chance to get back to them. Sheesh.
My real intention for this journal is to announce some details on the upcoming Ascension contest, which will start on August 1st and run through November 1st. The theme will be "Japan". Any combination of Lexial (Yes, her name has been changed for various reasons.) and/or the Acolytes must appear in the work, but OC's are invited, encouraged even, to join in the fun. The winning entry will be included in the print copy of the book along with th
