I placed a pink birthday cake in the middle of my dinner table; anyway you looked at it you couldn’t have seen anything that wasn’t sweet. All around the table, there were sweets—Pocky, jam doughnuts, cookies, pretzels, anything sweet! Toris, Feliks, and I would be eating all of these to no end later, Toris and I knowing that Feliks would tell (or more like order) us to eat it all with him.
And speaking of Toris, he was in the kitchen cleaning up the mess we made with making the cake. He and I had spent all morning and half the afternoon making it and we were now both covered in flour. I looked at myself and decided that I would need to take a bath before Feliks arrives.
I walked to the kitchen and over to the coun

You loved him, yet your other friend despised him.
"You shouldn't marry him, (Name)! Like, you'll totally suffer!" The green eyed man, Feliks was sitting with you in the shop where you were fitting into your gowns. The Polish man was probably able to tell that you weren't paying any attention to him, so he began to rant. "I, like, don't understand. There are so many cooler and hotter guys out there, and like, you just had to pick this one. I mean, totally - look at me. I'm pretty manly. I could protect you... Yet I'm just an outcast."
"You're not an outcast, Feliks." You answered into the air, fixing the frontside of your long dress.
"I never get a chance at like, anything." The Polish man sighed blankly into space.
A hand reached his forehead as he returned to earth. "Are you alright, Feliks?"
"No..." Feliks murmured.

The doorbell rang and I rushed from my spot in the kitchen to get it. I had been expecting her for a few minutes, and I was pretty excited for what we were going to do.
I opened the door and was met by a small girl with short and choppy blonde hair, dressed in a modest lilac dress with matching flats. In her hair was a blue ribbon that her brother had given her on a whim and she was carrying a mid-sized paper bag with pink and white vertical stripes. She was Liechtenstein, or Lili Zwingli, as I like to call her.
“Hello, Miss ____,” she said in her cute little voice. “I am sorry I’m late. It was just that Big Bruder was fussing over me and going over the rules outside the house.” She sighed; I just smiled.

You shuffled around to the porch of Poland's house. Giving the doorbell one murderous look, you gave it a sharp jab.
God...why did you even lend the idiot money...
The door opens a few milliseconds to reveal him. That creepy guy with the valley-girl style of talking.
"OMG. Like, hay [Name]!"
Poland. Or in other words, Feliks Lukasiewicz.
"Whatever Feliks. Look, I'm here for the money you owe me," you sighed, rolling your eyes.
"Oh that? I like, totally have it right now! Why don't you like, come on in and have a seat?"
"I'm not here to-" you're cut off as soon as he leaves the room to supposedly get your money. Without another choice, you decided to maybe just have a quick seat, and leave immediately.
"[Name]! Come over here girl!"
You march over to the room he was in angrily. He better be going you back the money...
Then the door locks.
Freaked out, you shine a murderous look towards Poland who had an absolutely creepy look on his face.

"Class, this is Feliks Łukasiewic. A new exchange student from Poland. I trust that you'll make him feel welcome," your teacher announced. Next to her stood a blond...A blond... To be honest, you couldn't tell what he was at first with the shoulder-length hair and the hang on the hip. Even after the incident, you still weren't 100% sure of his gender.
"You can sit in the empty seat next to [Name]," she said.
Feliks took a seat next to you as the teacher said, "Chop, chop, students. It's time for English."
Feliks opened is desk to find several miscellaneous items. A vocabulary book with a Kobe Bryant cover, a few spirals, a ton of old papers and tests, and... An empty packet of Emergen-C?

The rain fell from the sky on my soaked body, I was shivering from the little wind that blew in the air today.
I didn’t mind being soaked, it was not the point. The bad thing was that my boyfriend Ivan just broke with me and pushed me out of our home. I hated him from the first time I saw him and his aura, but I’ve been way too gentle to him. He obligated me to be his girlfriend, when my parents died. Having nowhere to go, I found this way convenient and moved with him.
But my best friend Felix told me that that wasn’t the best thing to do. I regret not listening to him.
Now Ivan was tired of me, and pushed me out of the way, like nothing happened.
The only thing I could do now was looking for Felix.
Again, I rang the doorbell of his house. I waited there, under the rain, some more seconds. Not hearing anything, I turned my heels and made a few steps.
It broke my heart, feeling so abandoned. With nowhere to g

But I never told you

The answer is very simple: He wanted you to help paint his house pink.
You just stared at him when he handed you a brush. He blankly stared back, forcing you to burst out,
"Why are you painting your house pink?"
He gave you a 'why the hell are you questioning me' look, but told you,
"It'll like, make Romania totally jealous!"
You just sighed and started painting. You knew your friend had quirks, but he has never done anything this drastic before. Sure, he borrowed your skirts without permission, but you got them back eventually. And, yeah, he once forcibly put makeup on you for a dance, but you'd gotten more attention than you'd ever gotten before, something that seemed to annoy Feliks.
"Hey, like, you can't paint like that, it'll leave streaks," came the Polish man's voice into your thought

He just moved from Poland when the school year started. He looked lost actually. With his shoulder-length blond hair and green eyes, one would normally assume that he was a girl. A very pretty girl. In fact, I even remember one of the “popular” guys flirting with him.
They were very disappointed when they found out the truth. I laugh at their misery (mentally, of course).
Anyway, it seemed like it went by like that on that first day. Everyone had mistaken him for a girl. Everyone, except for me.
You see, back then, I had this huge thing for anime (and also My Little Pony), and every anime-lover knows that anime had this bad habit of making boys look like girls and sometimes, vice versa. So in conclusion, I was that loner girl whom everybody thought was weird, and I flashed it on, loud and proud, baby in fact I even had a backpack to show off. Well, everybody, ex

"Aren't you going to tell me why you told me to come over?"
You had called the Polish boy over a few hours ago, claiming you wanted to 'hang out', which of course was a lie. Really, you just wanted to talk to him, in person rather than on the phone, maybe getting him to confess something you had been wondering about for a while. So far, though, all the two of you had done was watch soppy movies and eat junk food. You put the little brush back in the pot and blew on your nails, swiping at Feliks lazily.

He rolled his eyes. "Yeah, right. You only ever call me in the morning telling me to come to your house if there's something you want to talk about. So, what's up?"
Looking down at your nails, you pursed your lips and put your hands together. "Well... I did kinda want to

You knew things would change, that no longer could it be as good as it once was. You would open your mouth, there would be the silence of rejection and the abandonment of a friend. No, a best friend. You didn't know how to shut down feelings. Hide them away for only your eyes to see and even more consuming was the thought if it was ok to hide them at all. The prospect of telling him, becoming something more than friends seemed daring almost like playing a poker game you have to win. Did he feel the same?
