Glitter. That’s what the sky looked like at night out in the desert. Like some enthusiastic child spilled out a jar full of sparkly sliver over black paper, each piece shining and flickering. It was amazing, in every detail, craning my neck to look further at the Milky Way as the campfire cackled by my ear.
We were still trying to get to know each other, only a few days spent at the Fort since the beginning of recruitment. No one spoke much and we kinda stayed to ourselves in our own little worlds. Of course we wanted to work together, hell we going to have to at some point. But we’re all tense and possibly homesick right now, not knowing what each day will hold for us. That’s why we were having this little desert camping experience.
I looked back at the fire, again thinking of each individual man sitting around me. Why was I the only girl!? It felt too weird, lonely, and scary. Brute men like Heavy could hurt m
Confidence (TF2 Engineer x Reader) You'd always known Engineer as a shy guy. The kind of person who'd appreciate a joke, but slink away with a small chuckle. A polite person when you heard from him. He would occasionally give you small, yet sweet and admiring compliments just to be nice. Things like, "you look very pretty," or "you're doing a very good job".Confidence (TF2 Engineer x Reader)1 year ago in Romance More Like This
When he was on the field, you always noticed he would only kill for the protection of his teammates or himself. Because of peer pressure, most of the time he would slink harmless little insults into his dominations... It raised his confidence.
But he had a passion for inventing all sorts of things. You would sometimes walk into his bunk and find many helpful blueprints, some scratched out and crumpled, but most with really good upgrades that would benefit the team.
But this week was the slowest and least productive week for Engineer. More and more of his blueprints you discovered in the trash, and no one on the tea

Soldier X Reader
It was a normal day at the Fort, which was alright on their free days. Instead of having to go steal Intel or die off in some dramatic fight, each team member set off to relax and spend some time to themselves.
One such person was Soldier. He woke bright and early, but with less urgency like usual, using some time to straighten his room and throw on his ‘casual’ uniform. The nice thing to him, being a guy and all, was that he didn’t need to use a mirror, knowing all the while as he threw his hat on without a glance that he looked as spiffy as he did every day since he joined the team. If only he had looked….

I sat on my bed, watching the clock tick away as the impending silence of the base sank further into the night. There was a burning hunger deep in my stomach, making me twitch and pray that everyone was deep enough in their dreams to not be up at this hour. My mission was simple in idea, but problematic to actually succeed in. It wasn’t a job I could just do. It needed stealth, efficiency, and calm. Because I was going to break into Medic’s lab.
As insane as it sounded, the item of choice was even weirder: The jar of cough drops. Yes, I am one of the poor souls addicted to those things. The cool menthol dripping down my throat and the refreshing flavors soothing the inner hunger, God I love cough drops. The major problem was how hard it is to infiltrate such a part of the base. Medic is very strict about who and what goes in and out of there, and not to mention the fact that he would flip if he found out about me stealing from hi

You hoped you were chosen to add to the RED team. You thought it didn't seem like much work. You defended your base and you'd win. It looked easy by the scenarios you were shown on the internet.
They were heroes. You loved them all. All the classes had their own unique advantages. You would train for all of them, no matter what team you were on, RED or BLU.
The administrator was standing in front of two doors; one with a RED logo, and one with a BLU logo. She gazed at you and pointed to the RED door.
Past the door was a changing room. Nobody appeared to be there, but there were many different articles of reddish clothing. You grabbed the smallest shirt and pair of pants you could find, but they still loosely fit on you. It wasn't surprising, b
Training Day (Sniper x Reader fluff) It was your first day of training as a sniper, and you just didn’t feel like functioning. Sniper had instructed you to get up in time to leave at daybreak, and be prepared for hot weather. The female spy in the bunk beneath yours snored gently in her sleep mask with a tiny smile on her face. You envied her.Training Day (Sniper x Reader fluff)1 year ago in Short Stories More Like This
Once dressed, and after a stop by the bathroom, you carried your work boots down the corridor to the main living area. You slumped into the long sectional couch and set to the task of putting on and lacing up your boots. You glanced up sleepily to the coffee table to see a brown paper sack with a note on it. It was from the female spy:
“Good morning, Cherie. Enclosed are a lunch and a few necessities you may have forgotten early in the morning. Bon chance! P.S. If you want a quick breakfast, there are cereals. Get to them before

It wasn’t that you disliked him, in fact, it was the exact opposite. Your heart melted at the slightest glimpse of him, causing you to avoid him in battle as well. Injuries were left untreated, usually fixed later in the day by respawn. But on off-occasions, you managed to hurt yourself at the very end of the work day, and couldn’t go to bed without treatment.

It was just another typical day in Blu Base as me and Scout fought over God knows what, since it was a day off and all. As loud and hard we fought, this was the usual. It wasn’t like we hated each other, hell it was almost like we were related. His ego just got in the way a lot, and it drove me crazy. Maybe that’s why the others left the room?

Heavy, Medic, Sniper and Demo all groaned loudly. As I was handed a watch, a set of 20 dollar bills and a pair of boxers, I grinned.
"How do you always do that?!" Said Medic, seeming frustrated with our game.
I responded with a shrug. I collected my winnings, and stood up, about to go to my room. Suddenly, my eyes grew wide as a pair of arms were wrapped around my waist.
"Ahh!" I shouted with sudden surprise, calming down a bit when I realized who it was.
"Yo girly, calm it. It's just me." Scout chuckled as he kissed my cheek and carried me under his arm.
I let him do as he pleased, taking me into his bedroom with him. Putting me down on the bed, he laid down next to me and began to play with my hair. I looked at him, curious of his sudden affection.

The fire in the fireplace and the twinkling Christmas lights did little to lighten the mood around the playing table, a few sighs shared and disheartened looks falling onto the worn wood. Everyone was like this, since the Administrator didn’t release us from this hellhole for the holidays and no one was permitted to leave the base, not even to go to town for drinking away the pain.
Instead, we were meant to sit around and do nothing, not even fight since the snowstorm hit a few days earlier and prevented us from releasing our stresses. The only good thing was the generators kept the power up, thanks to Engineer’s brilliance in mechanics. But even that did little to lift the dark spirits in us.

He then proceeded to pull out his gun and pop a bullet at it, missing by inches.

Being a mercenary had certainly had it's toll on your sleeping habits. Despite the imperfections you could spot, you smiled at yourself.
