<JonasDeRo> Hello Fisharto, good question!
<JonasDeRo> I would say my main source of inspiration is traveling. I love painting but I love to travel even more; seeing cities, towns, nature really inspires me in the first

I should note that this article will be primarily concerning YA fiction, as that is what I know most about. You may notice that some of these openings use elements that I cautioned against in an earlier article. Told ‘ya there were bountiful exceptions to writing “rules.”
The Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis
“There was a boy called Eustace Clarence Scrubb, and he almost deserved it.”
This one is just awesome. I adore some subtle humor in a book, and it’s a great way to start out if you’re witty enough. This short and amusing opening line tells us a lot about the character in a very short time. His name also gives an indication that he is not from the land of Narnia, but is probably from England, if this book is to be similar to the ones prior to it in the series. We know something about his age in t

"And here I was thinking that you were a great skater," Clint joked, rubbing the elbow he had hit on the ice.
"Oh please," you scoffed. "I may not be Michelle Kwan, but I-" You stopped when you saw Clint's confused face. "Michelle Kwan?" you said incredulously. "Most dedicated U.S. Olympic figure skater ever? Nothing?" Clint just stared at you blankly.
"Anyways," you continued, sighing at Clint's ignorance, "I could beat you in a race any day."
Clint raised an eyebrow. "Well, (Y/N), I guess we'll just have to find out." He flashed a devilish grin and skated over to one end of the rink. You quickly followed.
Once you got to where Clint was standing he started to explain the rules.

Chapter one: A mark never Forgotten.
Sesshomaru stood tall on the snow covered hill. His silver hair blew around his face as the winters harsh winds past him. He looked down to the small human child tucked against his chest.
Rin had fallen ill. He knew it was from the harsh winter. It had come suddenly, Though he knew winter was near he was surprised to find that the snow had begun to fall so quickly. He didn't feel the cold. But his human ward did. They were miles from any large civilizations. Hundreds of miles from his home.
But as Sesshomaru watched Rin's pale lips began to tremble against his pelt. He knew if he did not find shelter soon, she would die in his arms.
He began to quickly make his way to the south. He knew of a village there, fortunately it was close to them . But u

Chapter One –The Well
Silence was interrupted by the faintest rustling sound of leaves. Tall trees loomed high above the ground to reach for the rays of warmth the Sun provided. A slender figure leaned against the ancient well in the middle of the clearing. Looking up towards the clear blue sky, strands of ebony hair reached past the figure's tiny waist. No longer the young teenager, Kagome dressed in a traditional miko garb that hid her toned, yet feminine figure. The only visible proof those ten years had passed were the wisdom and confidence in her violet tinted blue eyes.
"Kagome, do you really have to leave?"
Suddenly aware of her surroundings, Kagome glanced towards the owner of the voice. With a wistful smile, she answered, "I must, Shi

Bright sunlight showered warmth upon the Western Fortress. In the gardens, Kagome lay on fresh green grass near a small patch of lilies. Breathing in the calming scent of lilies, she hoped to calm her thoughts as well. Instead, her mind continued to run wild and replayed yesterday's memory of his embrace.
'I love you.'
In his embrace, she couldn't resist whispering those words to herself. The very words her mind whispered were ones she had tried to suppress for months. Now, everything she tried to restrain came undone.
'I love him.'
Red burned against Kagome's cheeks. She quickly covered her face with her hands. She was certain everything started when she asked him to help her dress. A surge of emotions overwhelmed her as a consequence of suppressing them. She didn't realize until now how much her feelings for him has grown.
She loved him… so much.
But she couldn't abandon Inuyasha. Their promise was the only chance he

Sesshoumaru stood next to her, arms crossed, peering into the well, too. I do not know. I told you that already.
Kagome groaned frustratingly and stood up, slipping her back pack over her shoulders. I hate this. I dont understand it at all! She kicked the side of the well and stubbed her toe. Ow! She balanced on her good foot, Sesshoumaru chuckling next to her.
Lets get going. He said, casually slipping his arm around her waist and tugging her to him, jumping into the well with her.
Kagome couldnt help but blush at the sudden closeness to him. She diverted her eyes and tried to concentrate on the sensation of the magic swirling around them, carrying them to the Feudal Era. Sesshoumaru barely looked over enough to see her

'She is from the future'.
Sesshomaru leaned back against his chair as he placed down the report in his hand. This fact explained the odd objects she carried around, her knowledge on advance numbers, and her effective healing supplies. He always predicted that she was brought up in a different area just by observing her strange behavior. However, he never considered she might be from a different time. He recalled Kagome voice her guilt for gaining demons respect because she held the advantage of her knowledge on the future.
The memory brought a soft chuckle to escape his lips.
A tender look shined through his softened eyes.
Had she truly tried to take advantage of her knowledge on the future, she could have sold her healing supplies. She would instantly be showered with riches. She could have exposed her wisdom on advanced numbers to the entire demon society. She would gain their respect immediately. He could think of so many other ways to take advantage of

Disclaimer: We don't own Phil, Dan, or Phan. I wish.
Don't we all?
I felt bile rising in my throat as I ran back towards the lift, holding back the inevitable flow of tears. I threw down my scarf, needing air. Needing to breathe.
How could he do this? He was Phil, for god's sake. Innocent, beautiful, dark and childish all at once. I thought he...I honestly thought he was the one. The only one.
I stumbled into the small box, mashing the ground button with a bit too much force. As soon as the doors closed, I sank to the floor and buried my face in my knees.
I didn't get out, even when the lift stopped and the doors clicked open. I couldn't move, and after a while the lift doors shut again.
Phil, baby, why...
Someone called the lift from above, and I began to rise. Frantically, I ma
Black Rabbit - Part twelveA pale light poured into the dark apartment from a kitchen window, and covered the angsty resident. Casey sat in the grungy kitchen, looking at the rust covered refrigeration and inhaling death from his third cigarette of the morning. The air in the small space was a little bit foggy from this method of stress relief, but there was no way Casey was going to open a window. Since he barely made enough money from being a whore and stealing from his now four boyfriends to pay rent, he never turned the heat on and always wore several layers of clothing. He was barely ever home anyway, so it didn't matter. This was simply a place to keep his belongings in and bring the occasional client home.Black Rabbit - Part twelve3 years ago in Introductions & Chapters More Like This

Anybody Can Write a Novel
Chapter 9 “Types of Writers” – Section 5 “Casual Writers”
With Links to Supplementary Material
I finally have internet again, and so will be talking today about Casual Writing—an attitude toward storytelling that is more laid back and finds a secondary place when compared to other interests. There is great power in this sort of writing that comes through a greater sense of detachment from the words on the page, which allows for very powerful editing, and no feeling of being hurried. However, as a secondary skill and interest, there must be measures in place to raise the writing to a high enough level for publication, as well as ways to ensure that the writer does not become disinterested in their work in the long amount of time required to finish a novel at that pa

Your music taught me:
-Life is a series of emotions; A roller coaster that you should never want to get off.
-Life is worth living.
-Never forget who you are and never let anyone change you.
-Be yourself, stay beautiful and keep it ugly.
-Dream and dream often.
-Love who you are no matter the cost.
And above all;
My Chemical Romance taught me how to cope with what life brings and what death leaves.
Though you're dead and gone, believe me your memory will carry on.
Thanks for everything,

Once you, a friend, or a client have finished the first draft of any type of work, you reach the editing stage. Unfortunately, I have found very little literature as to the editing process, save for grammar tips and some technical clean-ups. For this reason, I am writing a few quick tips for editing the first draft of a written work—particularly works of fiction.
Tip 1: Let the story sit.
I have heard that C. S. Lewis let his stories sit an entire year after their first draft before he edited them. There is a two-fold wisdom in this. First, time gives you a chance to detach from the story you are so emotionally invested in—forces you to take a step back. From a more detached perspective, you will be able to edit your work subjectively and not so emotionally. Second, letting a story rest gives you time to forget it. This is important because when authors read their own work, they tend to fill in the gaps of information with what is in their head. I

The morning light trickled through the window curtain, falling onto a lone figure wrapped in a bundle of sheets. Clint groaned as he shield his eyes from the dawn's light, patting the side next to him before opening his eyes and sighing. You were always an early riser, mostly due to your desk job at Shield which unfortunately you had to be at at eight this morning. Too awake to go back to bed, Clint shuffled his way out of bed, greeted by Lucky as the two walked into the kitchen, making a cup of coffee to start the day. As he waited for the miracle liquid to brew, Lucky departed from his master to another resident who also just happened to wake up, your daughter (d/n).
"Daddy?" (d/n) half asked, half yawned as she rubbed her small (e/c) eyes, her blond hair a tangled mess as she walked out and stood next to her daddy.
"Yes (d/n)?" Clint nodded, pouring himself a cup before taking a sip, now a bit more alert to respond to his daughter's question.

I never let you see,
I keep it caged but I can't control it,
You curled your trembling fingers into fists so tight your drew blood as you stumbled over to your room, your breathing hitched and your vision hazy.
In a way, you were slightly like the 2P's; you had another side of you, a much darker side. The difference was this side was starting to take over completly.
Your lust for destruction, for killing, for pained whimpers and pathetic begging at your feet just kept on growing and you hated it. You weren't going to lie to yourself, you were terrified. You didn't want to hurt anyone you loved.
A foggy image of Ivan swam in your head as you thought this.
You couldn't let him see this side of you, the blood lust you couldn't control.
So stay away from me,
The beast is ugly,
I feel the rage and I just can't hold it,
This was the reason you always tried

So I was never really interested in creating a perfect universe—and neither will or should many writers. However, in my time editing my first work, I found that there were many contradictions and things that simply could not work when I had friends test-read my material. For that reason, I had to re-create and define my universe from scratch, and then force my story to conform to these standards, or create reasonable explanations for why they did not. The results were incredible, and raised the level of my writing significantly—driving me to show you the benefits of using a world creation sheet.
Reason 1: A World Creation Sheet will reveal the cosmic order that governs your universe.
When I addressed the questions of a World Creation Sheet, the natural consequences of actions (the results of the ideas of a sort of karmic force or cosmic justice or complete cosmic a
