Go here https://shift.gearboxsoftware.com/home to the website, and register an account - only takes a few moments of your time. This is a service that Gearbox uses specifically for handing out extras to its players. After linking your account (for 360, you register online and then enter your data into the Extras > Shift menu), you get 2 more keys automatically!
For even more fun, follow Randy Pitchford, a Gearbox lead, on Twitter, at http://twitter.com/duvalmagic! Every so often, he gives out SHIFT codes that are good for several hours. SHIFT codes work once for each gaming profile, so everyone can use one whenever they're posted! In fact, there are a few active as of this posting!

How DC contacts work... By Mark WaidIf you're working for a publisher and wondering how the payments work then this by Mark Waid is pretty good --> http://thrillbent.com/blog/how-dc-contracts-work/How DC contacts work... By Mark Waid2 years ago in Personal More Like This
Basically what it boils down to though is that things are paid pretty much as a work for hire which means you get paid a once off flat rate, and then whoever paid you can do whatever they like with the final picture and not owe you a cent extra. Only if you're very good at negotiating contracts, and remember you're up against some of the best in the business with Marvel etc, or have such clout and "cred" in the industry, that you can cut your own deal. Which probably also means your name is Stan Lee...
This sort of deal ranges from a private one off pinup you do for John Doe to the big leagues such as DC and Marvel. Personally I'm fine with it as I get the money and then get a personal kick about seeing the final product in print. I usually ask if I can ge

You Have to WonderI've read in several scientific journals, that the reason that Neanderthals went extinct, despite the fact that they were stronger and smarter (bigger brains) than humans is because they reached full adulthood "physically" by age 11 or 12 - yet did not have the emotional skills to function as a society because their childhoods were too short and their emotional learning curves too steep. They had bigger brains than us, but lacked the extended adolescence that helped them socialize. They were not under the control of their elders long enough to develop societal skills that allowed them to function in a larger society. They lived in isolated "clans" -- and preyed on each other - and so when "we" came along, we buried them easily or bred them out.You Have to Wonder2 years ago in Personal More Like This

How to color a grayscale imageA very good artist on this website has graciously allowed me to color one of her works, confessing that she doesn't know much about coloring to begin with. This is a tragedy as her images are absolutely gorgeous. This is the piece that I am coloring, and I decided to throw together a quick tutorial on how I did it, since it is incredibly easy. (you could probably even do this with a mouse) What makes art most visually interesting in my opinion is the range of light used, so I want to keep the original lighting intact as much as possible. How to color a grayscale image6 months ago in Personal More Like This
Tutorial uses Photoshop CS6, but no specific brushes and the layer types often have equivalents in other programs.
So the first step is to make a new layer above the original image and put in the "flats" or basic palette colors.
And you're done! Just kidding. Anyway, this typically works a little better if the colors chosen are more saturated than what you would see on the anime pale

Each Chapter’s End
Context is everything. The same photographs and paintings of airport terminals and train compartments and subway platforms that seem so cold and forbidding in contemplation of one’s traveling out into the world, somehow become reassuring in their hard functionality and durability – when thought of as the pathway to the journey back home. Faces of travelers photographed in airports often exhibit muted “Mona Lisa smiles,” masking the direction (to or away from home) that they are headed.

The chaptered comic strip, has been collected into a 100-page graphic novel – and to the still-uninitiated:
It is not quite like anything you’ve probably ever seen before. The story follows “Zee Captain” and his sidekicks as they amble through a post-apocalyptic landscape. And while that hardly seems new and different, it’s the unusually superlative graphic quality of the comic cells and the Monty Pythonesque dialogues and leaps of logic that can become quite mesmerizing. Zee Captain, his face hidden by a gas mask that gives him a Darth Vaderish look, wears what looks like a Soviet Red Army uniform from WWII, and the strip does have nourish WWII feel. It’s as if the nuclear holocaust on Hiroshima and Nagasaki had never ended and spread to every major city on Earth. But
YOLCG 2's Game SystemLast time I talked about one of the three main aspects of the project. I'll talk about the Game itself for now.YOLCG 2's Game System7 months ago in Personal More Like This
We're nearing closer to the first prototype. That version should should work for about 80% in a technical standpoint. This is mainly because we want to test the gameplay to see if our new idea's work well. We'll adjust or replace them if necessary and then move on to working on the story and graphical assets. The prototype is not a finished version, so we wont release it on dA. We might need some people to play-test the prototype and/or with later versions, but I'll have to look into that.
So one of the new idea's is the enema feature. I'm not sure if we ever told a lot about this idea, but we shifted the fluids/chemicals towards applying them through an enema. Now this idea might not appeal to everyone, so we'll include a disable function for it. When disabled, the game provides an alternative method so they can still 'modify' the cowgirls.

I have a topic to discuss that you might find it a bit interesting XD
I've been having this in my head since I saw the movie and it has come to my attention that no one hasn't mentioned this before (well, at least I haven't found it)
In the movie we can see The 7th Heaven the bar entrance
and the customer's area.
We also see Cloud's office/room
and the children's room
but... Where does Tifa sleeps?? D:
I've been asking this question for a long while and I decided to make a concept art of the seventh heaven bar to understand the design of the building u_u but so far I can't find a logical solution of where is Tifa's room DX
I know for a fact that she doesn't sleep with Cloud xD (although we all want that to be a possibility xD) and I don't think she sleeps with the children, because there are only two beds in there o.o
I always thought she slept at the end of the corridor beside Cloud's room... but now that I see my
Digital vs. TraditionalAs it has been almost a full year since I transitioned to digital art, I thought I'd make a journal entry about it.Digital vs. Traditional5 months ago in Personal More Like This
With traditional art, the pluses and minuses are mainly based on what medium you use. For me, it went between markers and colored pencils, colored pencils being my usual choice. My main complaint would be that I kept developing sores on my thumb from having to grip the pencils so hard for smooth colors(which is why I switched to markers... Less pain). My art just wasn't seeming to go anywhere, but I was very comfortable with those mediums.
Being comfortable made it difficult to switch over. I had tried to make the switch, but no tablet felt nice to use. They all felt so fluid... But last year I finally made the switch over.
In many ways, digital art is a lot easier than traditional art. I don't have to press hard to get the smooth colors. My line-art is especially more fluid... and if I mess up, I can't just undo it! However, the more digital art I do, the harder traditio
